I had multiple vertical metal embrasures dissappear when I picked them up with a hammer, I had tested it a few times and it continued to delete them and they have not come back into my inventory.

Had a friend try it and they disappeared as well.

Yeah any items that stack when full health if they aren't full health they disappear
