I’m a mom trying to play with my 9 yr old son. We are on console only. Is there anyway to mute people without turning all sound off?

Yes. Go to the player list, and hover over the name you want to mute

It’s usually only a few people that I wish I could. But most of the time when they find out we are new and I’m playing with my son the language changes. And I appreciate it when it happens. I want to be able to know what I can do to help make the game enjoyable for my son.

I understand your reasoning rust console has the most toxic playerbase you'll ever find even more than pc so that'll be really difficult especially since everyone would like to offline raid him rather than online

Yes that’s very true. But hey we are still very new and learning. It’s a great game. Plus I want to show him that he can mute people on his own should I be not next to him. Thank you for your input. Most would just be rude and say don’t play if you don’t want to hear it.

I would recommend playing on the servers with less people as well as it would be much less chaotic if that’s what you would prefer.

true for me I try to help others struggling In games whenever I have time sometimes I succeed in helping them then sometimes my methods aren't their playstyle

Its always more crazy when the servers wipe because everyone has a chance to compete with other.
Even I enjoy going on less populated servers just to have a more enjoyable experience.

ok in terms of farming I recommend farming sunken wreckage and rafts and use scrap for bps once you have bps then use it to buy metal at outpost I generally get 4k-7k scrap a hour running rafts and sunken wreckage if I recycle everything

Getting mats is crazy. Espically when you are just trying to wake up and someone has already ran by and killed you

in terms of scrap farming I generally have a entire sheet metal or armored base with all bps on all tech trees including comps in about 4-6 hours

3k scrap= 30k cooked metal I generally get up to 7k scrap a hour doing my methods and approximately 2.5 boxes of metal and about 900 hqm a hour

no clue won't be on for another 5 hours anyways

Much easier on a low pop server. Also a mom here! Also advise him to not join any party invites generally as they tend to be toxic.
