You dont
what
Figure it out

The startup message means you have a mod with modcore
is essential open source?
You can press don't show again if you don't want to update your mods
No essential is proprietary software
its the "Minecraft startup complete in x seconds one"
That's a patcher setting
blocked downloads.essential.gg and removed all the gui mixins, works well enough
download skyclient
this screams malware

we overwrite the main menu gui
meaning you wont see this https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/807302782432051230/878032146340642836/unknown.png
is that a female technoblade?
my /etc/hosts hack works fine
and yes
also i use multimc
so skyclient would fuck that up
also wrong
what does skyclient do for me tho
ln -s "~/Library/Application Support/minecraft/skyclient" "MULTIMC PATH/INSTANCE NAME/minecraft"```
we have "mmc support"
installs all the good skyblock mods
you can pick which mods you want and which you don't
it also has custom gui and all that which you can disable
and
an updater for all the mods
oh wait that's mac
is skyclient in the AUR
Arch User Repository
what
no it's just an installer
you get the file from here https://github.com/koxx12-dev/Skyclient-installer-Java/releases/latest
its a repository for arch linux you can just dump all your software into, so if it was i could just yay -S skyclient and then skyclient to run
less than 1% of our users use linux
that package name
and so far you are the only one who wants it in arch
and you are also the first one who wants to install it using a package manager
well how do i update the updater if not a package manager!
the updater updates itself!
noooo
it's an mc mod!
i like my system being outdated until i remember to maintain it once a month
you can also just put the option that says "do not update"!
or "ignore"
or whatever it said
i forgot
but i want my software to update when i run an update
software updating itself leads to all sorts of problems
why are you looking at the package name anyway
you sent me a github link, i looked at the code
i'll stick to my nicely outdated as hell stable mod folder
bet it's only outdated as hell
i updated a few things today
i had patcher 1.3, now 1.6
idk what time scale that is
1.6.1?
whatever latest is
i mean i downloaded it today
and multimc is displayer ${version} instead of a version so fuck knows
i dislike multimc
it's bloatware
anything mmc can do the default laucher can do just as well
multimc isnt perfect
but i have like a lot of instances on it
the default launcher makes that painful
because they all share one folder
it takes like 3 clicks more
you can make it use a different folder
a lot of people don't know that
and last time i used it it only ran one at once
what
one instance of the game
you can make different "instances" use different folders
yeah but can i run two minecrafts at once with it
you can do that with the default launcher no problem
news to me
even then though, the default launcher's arch support is sketchy
works most of the time
but went through a phase where it'd just load a black screen and nothing more
multimc is not made by mojang so it isnt as filled with bugs
also i cant start the minecraft launcher from a shell script
well
i can start the launcher
but i cant tell it to start the game from cli args
