You can't tell what's in your modfolder? There's even a Type column to help you

i just installed a folder that had some mods resource packs shader some other things

It's .jar

Mods are jar files

none of these have .jar except the skytil mod which i disabled cuz the game wouldn't work with it on

That's because you have file name extensions turned off

So you have to use the type column
