its usually a nullpointer
@novel isle uploaded a log, here's the most recent one
- OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM, version 1.8.0_452
- Forge 11.15.1.2318 on 1.8.9 using 15 mods
- OptiFine M6 pre2
Recommendations: - Unless you know what you're doing, modifying your JVM args could have unintended side effects. It's best to use the defaults.
- Most of the time you don't need more than 2GB RAM allocated (maybe 3-4GB if you use skyblock mods). You may be able to reduce the amount of RAM allocated from 8192m to 2048M or 3072M
neu
dude i fucking KNEW it but the people in their support are like
its not neu!!!
but there seems to be like a conflict with skytils tho
also ik the log says its like BetterContainers or something, but its not always that same error

like this one says tablist something

and this one doesnt even say NEU
like the crashes are so random
i dont understand why its happening at all
it says neu in like the third line
tbh just delete ct
what kinda support is this bruh 😭
what is cme
concurrent modification exception
so is it ct or is it one of my modules
and is that the causefor all the the crashes or
who knows
ct is useless at debugging
true
@novel isle uploaded a log, okay what is happening here

your log say fuck all
what am i supposed to do about that 😭
It is the same thing that broke it before but in a different way this time? crazy
but ct is the cause of every one of the crashes i sent?
The only mod I can think of to cause it (because I saw it in the first log) is NotEnoughUpdates, but other mods probably also use it so idk
Would be asking you what you were doing, but that log is like 4 days old so you probably don't know
because they're all from different sources ;-;
What even is wingsmod
Probably some mod for free wings
bro how can my game be that fucked
is it prism launcher
Cause you use chat triggers
no
show us your ct modules
Im not that up-to-date but you could try without the SBO stuff if you dont really need it right now
I know that SBO had some weird bugs like 1 year ago but I dont play this game anymore
other then that they look fine
and what do i do if that doesnt work
come back
delete ct
since when do the crashes occur
fighting fire with depriving it of oxygen actually
You might also want to update ur odin
o okay
@novel isle uploaded a log, crash again, deleted sbo and updated odin

@errant briar
it didnt even launch this time
wtf is causing infinite recursion bruh
also this happens like every time i launch

@sudden marten do u have any idea what caused this one
it says in the log
that st caused it
first crash:
at net.minecraft.util.ChatComponentStyle.getUnformattedText
String containerName = cc.getLowerChestInventory().getDisplayName().getUnformattedText();
second crash:
at net.minecraft.util.ChatComponentStyle.getFormattedText
tabList = getTabList0();
String name = Minecraft.getMinecraft().ingameGUI.getTabList().getPlayerName(info);
third crash:
was related to ct so no clue
fourth crash:
was related to ct so no clue
fifth crash:
was related to ct possibly so no clue
sixth crash:
at net.minecraft.util.ChatComponentStyle.getFormattedText(ChatComponentStyle.java:81)
at gg.skytils.skytilsmod.utils.TabListUtilsKt.getText(TabListUtils.kt:29)
it happens on containers and tablist when trying to get the formatted or unformatted name of something I think
I'm guessing even the ct crashes are also possibly related to it
Bru you're cheater why did I even bother helping
try using only the bare minimum of mods for like 1 - 3 days and see if it fixes itself
(I would say Skytils, Neu, Skyhanni, Optifine maybe? but depends on what you wanna do those days)
wait what no im not D:
odinclient
also okay i will try thank u
is this something that crashpatch can fix btw?
cuz some people told me to get that
well not fix, but stop
no clue and probably not worth it
wdym not worth it?
because then you'll forever have the issue
but if it doesnt crash my game then does it matter?
bro why dont they just name it odin cheat version
client is something cheats usually use you could say
Either cheats or fake clients say client I think
it'll likely make you unable to open chests or if it's tab it'll crash forever
i thought like lunar and badlion are clients? idk bruh
hm
well someone also said crashpatch can like help identify the issue as well
all it does is look at the crash report and just says the first mod it sees in the crash stack
because this is something that's not happening on vanilla or forge with no mods
Meaning some mod you have causes it somehow
The issue is, some mod modifies something likely, but doesn't read that itself, so only the other mods that try that will fail
(I'm assuming this, but I doubt you'd wanna play without any mods so not worth testing)
if I had to guess from this modlist it's caused by either wingsmod or chattriggers
just try like 1 - 2 days without it
cause if it is chat triggers then you can try swapping modules out or smth
@novel isle uploaded a log, @ivory stratus crashed again with no chat triggers D:
- OpenJDK 64-Bit Server VM, version 1.8.0_452-b09
but the log is weird
uhh that's a java crash
And I absolutely won't be able to tell you what caused it cause that's outside of my field of expertise
so what does that mean
oh
man wtf
is it possible that java was the issue the whole time
tho this might be entirely unrelated
oml
I use zulu I think
hm okay
still crashed :C
is there a way to like
verify file integrity
of all my java stuff
how did it crash tho
like what does the crash report say
probably yea
i got the official jdk build from java.com
so maybe thatll help
even with that tho, crashpatch caught something

it's the same one as the first crash report
wait what
actually it's identical, the time is also the same
@novel isle uploaded a log,
- Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM, version 1.8.0_451
- Forge 11.15.1.2318 on 1.8.9 using 16 mods

sorry i sent the wrong one
like theres no feature called bettercontainers
at net.minecraft.util.ChatComponentStyle.getUnformattedText(ChatComponentStyle.java:69)
it's still this, but at a different point in the feature
my guess was chat triggers since that's usually the mod that breaks stuff in ways that make no sense
right
but when i deleted ct, i still crashed
but it was just a JVM crash instead
:L
tho that was probably just really unlucky
Since it looked like it was related to the same underlying issue
i mean it happened more than once..
I guess you could try the absolute bare minimum, which would be idk optifine and neu/skytils or whatever
chatgpt said there was like too much garbage collection in the jvm crashes, do u know what that means/how to fix it
im allocating 8gb rn
like is that really too much?
neu needs like 4 on its own ☠️
all mods you have need like 4gb together
depending on how many chat triggers modules maybe 5gb
also these should be the same right?
someone told me that theyre supposed to be the same
doesnt make much sense to me but i just listened
if you make them the same the game will always use exactly that much memory even if it doesn't need it
I have mine on 2048 on top I think
But probably won't make a difference
why do people say theyre supposed to be the same?
¯_(ツ)_/¯
"Unused RAM is bad RAM" is funny
the argument is basically "you paid for that ram so you better use it :)"
lmao
okay well ill try 2048 and 5120
tysm for ur help btw
my fps seems to be similar so i hope all this fixed it
the thing is, ai is dumb kinda
If you have more ram allocated, it means it should do less garbage collection cause it takes longer for this garbage to take up your ram
yeah i know ☠️ and if u ask it something itll just say ur right 80% of the time
yea unless it knows with 150% certainty that it's right
well still, allocating too much is bad anyway right?
yea, but more like performance wise not crash wise I think
well i just pray to god
(unless you run out of system memory then maybe also crash I think)
if im crashing on 1.21 while im playing foraging update im gonna slice my pc into 100 pieces
that shouldnt be happening i have 48gb
dw there's not gonna be many skyblock mods on 1.21, so you'll just play with like the well-tested optimization mods :D
i tried skyblocker modpack and it crashed when i messed with the texture packs ☠️
xd
and when i messed with held item animation
