it's known for a while that the updater just doesn't work

although I think it's better the updater be removed imo

skyclient updater has the same issue and the cause is because the bundled java in vanilla is from the year 2015 and so it's outdated

that should be fixed by essential

unless someone else is modifying the ssl cert chain

skyclient tickets with the error were made more often (edit: only recently, I think they might have died down a bit), I might go back and check to see if those had essential loaded
