i had to delete my old file of dkytils

before i could add a new one

and when i’d download the new version it wouldn’t automatically put the new version in my folder of mods

top recommendations for me are prism launcher/atlauncher

prism launcher is the one I have experience with but atlauncher is also good apparently

it doesn't use the default minecraft directory either so that each instance can have a different folder

also allows you to download from curseforge & modrinth directly

the only arguably hard part for prism users is the first time setup since you need to install both java 8 and java 17

unless you don't play like 1.18 or higher
