Hello, I installed Ersatz and ffmpeg to my Mac but it said it's not found, I'm using ErsatzTV Version v25.4.0-osx-arm64

Run which ffmpeg in terminal, then specify that path in Settings -> Ffmpeg

#

Same for ffprobe

Is something failing to work? I see those occasionally but doesn’t really harm anything

I don't think I have the right ffmpeg version that Ersatz wants me to use

#

Can you help me install it?

signal portal
#

Can you provide some screenshots

#

not really following

wheat sluice
#

OK hold on

@signal portal

what path did you put in the settings

#

copy and paste it here

#

this usually means you navigated away before a page finished loading. i cleaned a lot of it up in a newer build, but in 99% of cases it means nothing and it's not a reason to update

It changed many times - for now it's "/usr/local/bin/ffmpeg"

coral tide
#

why would it change many times?

wheat sluice
#

It was Homebrew, but it was apparently the wrong version, so I tried looking for the right version

coral tide
#

what does the wrong version mean?

8 would probably be fine, the issues are generally when ffmpeg is older than etv expects

The fuck?

coral tide
#

ignore it and see if things work

wheat sluice
#

OK

wheat sluice
#

And yes, I made a playout before this

coral tide
#

i dont respond to screenshots with no context

#

for playback troubleshooting the best thing is to use the troubleshooting tool. search for any content in etv and use the overflow menu to open the troubleshooter. click play and get the results zip

But somehow, when it played in the troubleshooting log it played perfectly fine

#

But the stream itself is not working

coral tide
#

same content?

wheat sluice
#

Yes

#

Same show, actually, though all the episodes of that show work correctly

#

But the stream itself does not run

coral tide
#

you can turn on ffmpeg troubleshooting reports in settings > ffmpeg, then stop and restart the channel. it will make a report in etv config folder / ffmpeg-reports subfolder

#

you can open config folder by using tray icon to open logs then go up one
