#won't recognize any .nfo files

what do the etv logs show when you scan
not even when i rename the ersatztv folder the same error shows up
for reference this error happens when i try to set a folder path
am i doing it wrong
okay, use the icon by the clock to open the logs folder, and upload today's log
this?
right click on the etv icon by the clock, which should be there because you should launch the windows exe
this is on the localhost web ui
i understand
where is your computer's clock
the lower right of the screen
find the etv icon
i dont see anything about nfo files
why do you think nfo files are not being read
one sec again
after you attempt to set the folder path via local media sources nothing ever shows up on the tv shows tab under media
this even happens when the error doesn't show up (from past attempts)
is it something related to the actual nfos themselves or am i stupid
ok, nfo files are secondary. if etv finds media, then it will check for nfo files
ik
let me rephrase
if you dont have any media in etv, it won't look for any nfo files, so they are not the problem
alright so
what kind of library are you trying to add
am i putting the media folder in the wrong place? i think i am because i put it under wwwroot
have you seen the folder layout requirements https://ersatztv.org/docs/user-guide/local-libraries#folder-layout-1
don't move anything into etv
OH
find your media in explorer, copy the full path, and paste that into etv
ah
hold on lemme fix rq
is this right now
the "season 1" folder includes all the episode files and their respective nfos all together, would etv recognize those
also stupid question my computer's language is set to portuguese, do i have to type the full path in that language or in english
if you have a folder like C:\Media\TV Shows\Show Name\Season 1\... you would add C:\Media\TV Shows to the library in etv
what are you pasting
C:/(documents folder)/(archive folder)/media/(media for ersatztv)/TV
(paraphrasing a bit)
copy the path from file explorer in windows
lemme try that
if you are typing and not pasting, something isnt working
same error as this
you have to actually paste the folder without paraphrasing if you want me to help
it says you are pasting something that isnt a folder
nah i did that
Backslash instead of forward slash
lemme try that
For Windows
yeah it copies with forward slashes
Yep, definitely shouldn't
hold on
Are you right-clicking in the explorer title bar and choosing "copy as path?"
yeah
I mean, not in the explorer bar...on the folder itself. If you highlight the folder and right click, you choose "copy as path" and then paste that into the path field in ETV
lemme try that
just paste here so we can see what you are actually doing
don't see that option
Windows 11 or 10?
10
Here's my Movies setup
paste here or i am doing something better with my time
whatever you are pasting into etv to add your content
C:\Users\dsiware\Documents\GenuineArchive\media\stuff for kodi ersatztv or whateverrrr\TV
is this correct or am i doing something horribly wrong
why do you keep having slashes the other way
wait oops
this is the back slashes ver C:/Users/dsiware/Documents/GenuineArchive/media/stuff for kodi ersatztv or whateverrrr/TV
yes i did???
i saw you edit it
oops
it was C:\Users\dsiware\Documents\GenuineArchive\media\stuff for kodi ersatztv or whateverrrr/TV
you did not copy that from anywhere
i did???
C:\Users\dsiware\Documents\GenuineArchive\media\stuff for kodi ersatztv or whateverrrr\TV
this is unedited
soz
if you cant copy and paste without modifying it, i cant help you
well what about this
this is unedited
i copied this from file explorer
what happens when you paste that in etv
ror reference i clicked on this icon and it showed me the path for me to copy + paste
on the explorer bar
unfortunately same error i'm dealing with
this
is etv on the same machine
the computer? yes
sorry for asking you this so many times but am i doing something wrong
or is etv like super broken
upload the log file again
that's what i keep doing
click the trash can on the page that says "local libraries"
add a new one, and add only the path that you copy from explorer
means that it worked
