#Windows Manual Install: .exe location?

I created a support post but also wanted to try here as well: https://discuss.ersatztv.org/d/147-windows-manual-installer-exe-location

I'm trying to follow the documentation for a windows manual install, but I don't see the installer (.exe file) in the location described below (i assume the top-level of the extracted dir?):

  1. Create a folder ersatztv at your preferred install location.
  2. Download and extract the latest release from GitHub to the ersatztv folder.
  3. Run ErsatzTV-Windows.exe
  4. Use the tray menu to open the UI, view logs or exit

I've checked most of the subdirs too, not sure what I'm missing here, any help is appreciated.

my guess is that you downloaded the wrong thing - please paste the link for the file you downloaded

i would check that you're unblocking the zip before you extract it, also worth checking that defender or some av you are running isn't messing with it

yeah, it was a local issue where the exe wasn't extracting because of a windows security policy. thanks for the help.

for context on my earlier response, normally with these symptoms, people download the source code zip instead of the appropriate asset for their OS
