It's not bad. Give yourself credit. You could also try using something like Grabcraft. It helps you build layer by layer.

If I were to add more to it, I would personally place more blocks on the top ceiling of the roof to make the house sort of point out on each end like an elf themed. Kind of like this "Townhall" pic. Or something on the top like this "Roof idea" pic. Lots of options. It still looks great tho!
