Were they using some kind of exploit to get unlimited scrap cases?
Yep, exactly! That was the whole point of the exploiters throwing beacons. The Neon City Scrap Cases contain Flux, so they were basically generating unlimited Flux. Glad we can fix it while keeping the legit rewards safe!
how about they make a block we can interact and consume the beacons in our inventory and the block will spawn the beacons so it goes around throwing beacons
They could add a new club bench where you spawn them as if they were d15 dragons, limited to 6 per hour or only when a rampage is active

I'd rather have beacons disabled until they are fixed. If I can't get the normal rewards from beacons using the beacons becomes less than optimal compared to how they were supposed to perform. Also, putting a block on cache drops is more programming work than just fixing how beacons work so they can't be duplicated.

Beacons were made to skip unnecessary time searching/waiting for ramp bosses to spawn on a * cornerstone... "normal" rewards are still there, sentience shard and lesser neon caches. Knowing how devs "patch" bugs/exploits I would simply remove scrap cases from loot pool and call it a day, atleast until they fix the issue
