#Struggling to install on windows

Which version of the editor is this?
Are you on Win11 or 10?
windows 11 and ive tried both 25.05.1 and 25.05.0, regular release and the offline one as well
I am about to head out for the weekend. But is your antivirus reacting to it at all?
Someone else can probably chime in, but it's also odd to me that it's happening with the bar basically finished. It seems like it's end-of-installation issues.
all good! and its not to my knowledge
Possibly related to the python post-install?
IIRC this post install step has been problematic in some computers
python post install?
yes, o3de uses python internally, python itself is not the problem, but if I'm not wrong some of the packages cannot be easily bundled with the installer for legal reasons (licensing), so they need to be installed through a tool that downloads them after the engine installation (it's installed locally on the engine, not the system)
in some computers, this install fails for some reason
Is there a way to install those packages prior to the engine installation so the problem is out of the way?
idk if there's a way to workaround this
oki, thank you for your insight though!
I am in Alaska currently, but known issues are antivirus, countries or universities blocking the port used for downloading, and or conflicts with other software that installs python, cmake, etc with unusual paths. We are working on a full installer that doesn’t require downloads, but have to get through some legal hurdles first.
What are your system specs and are you downloading at corporate, university, or at home?
Processor AMD Ryzen 5 7500F 6-Core Processor (3.70 GHz)
Installed RAM 16.0 GB (15.7 GB usable)
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Windows 11 Pro
Version 24H2
GIGABYTE Radeon RX 7600
and im downloading at home
Which country?
United States
Oh. Hmm
