#drift tires and drift races

handling calculations would be weird?
This wont work well
so what is it good at?
why
just why
this is a stat game pretty much
drift tires just throws the statsaway
you want drift tires, go play CarX
actually, yeah
it does
drift tires don't work in a stat game
and drift races
explain to me
how would that work
How would a car with slick tires be a better drift car than a car with performance or standard tires?
Because being in control of the drift requires decent grip as well as the ability to break traction, so really the equation should be more power + drift tyres = good drift car, but I'm not going to argue in support of this feature lol
This game is not a racing game despite cars literally racing each other. It's more closely related to a trading card game aka hearthstone or heck even pokemon.
People who suggest drift mode, nitrous, 1st person view controlling the car don't understand the mechanics of the game and why it would be literally impossible to build in the current game without rewriting most of it
It’s a terrible idea because it can’t be done properly in the context of how the game works.
He literally said exactly the opposite.
I argued that the correct formula for drifting should be based on power not handling because it's more important for a car to be able to break traction to hold a drift rather than be able to turn around a corner better, that comment had nothing to do with me supporting/rejecting the feature which is why I made a second comment
I wasn't referring to us controlling the car at all
Please explain how you're going to make a 3 wheel isetta drift, or are you expecting 1/4 of the cars in this game to dnf on all drift races
The game is played assuming "perfect" driver ability to obtain the same time on a track. If you want a drift mode that will have the driver perform the "perfect drift" that is more of a subjective opinion. What's more valuable in a drift? higher speed, steeper drift angle or riding the edge of the corner? You're just going to end up adding slower racing around a track and at least with normal racing you can eyeball the stats on the car to figure out if it's going to win the opponent or not, but in a drift race the cars stats don't have the same correlation, causing "unexpected" outcomes which may be on the verge of bad design. A 4wd car can't drift as well as rwd so you will have a car that is way better on paper lose, which is not a good user experience
Actually that will have the effect of driving rwd RQ up and 4wd rq down, which will make 4wd even more op in game. It's the same (but reverse) thing of 4wd slicks having inflated rq compared to rwd slicks, because even tough 4wd slicks on paper perform better in wet/offroad you will never use it on that track, but the fact that it does causes its rq to be higher, introducing more balance to the game
Tbh did you see the upvotes on the Texas Holden game mode in #1200087307349405766? The general public do not always have the best opinion on what's best for the game, so I'd expect most suggestions to be 👎 and nothing wrong with that
drift tires are the definition of slidey. No grip whatsoever
I just did.
Oh really? Explain to me where all the smoke comes from in a drift then
