Making this thread for people to come up with new variations of existing themes (or to figure out if a concept would be better as its own distinct theme rather than being a recolor)

Currently we have:

  • 🍃 Dewdrop Roots, our forest/tree dungeon theme holding the Forest Emerald
    • 🍂 Moonlight Brambles, the spooky twist for the halloween season with the Twilight Topaz
  • 🏜️ Sandswept Ruins, an ancient desert temple holding the Desert Amber
  • 🔥 Emberstone Quarry, a volcanic mine which holds the Fire Ruby
  • ☁️ Gustwind Palace, a skybound fortress which holds the Gale Quartz
    • ⚡ Thundervolt Bastion, the storm-filled variation which holds the Storm Amethyst
  • 💧 Deepcoral Cove, the classic water level theme holding the Ocean Sapphire
  • ❄️ Coldfang Grotto, a frozen cavern which holds the Ice Diamond
#

Personally, I think that a variation of the Sandswept Ruins could be a good crypt/mausoleum theme (perhaps holding an Onyx as its gem?)

sweet radish
#

deep coral could do a chineese/Japanese stlyed temple like the swamp spider house in majoras mask and have a jade crystal for the gem

#

what is it in the shape of idk

willow swift
#

emberstone quarry variant could be like Food land

sweet radish
#

thanks giving theme tho would work

willow swift
#

meanwhile I already was thinking of japanese style theme for modding

#

as a forest variant

sweet radish
#

ooo?

#

i want to mod in my own theme from my own project

fluid thorn
#

Coldfang Grotto could be rock candy and desert themed

#

Sandswept ruins could be a moonlit desert instead of a sunscorched one

#

Deep coral into beach houses (or abyssal region inspired)

willow swift
#

coral could be sewers

hmm frostgivre could be christmas

willow swift

well how about cakes?

#

as we have cakes as heart variants

ripe willow
#

What should Emberstone be?

bronze sigil
#

...blackened Emberstone?

ripe willow
#

I think Coldfang should be based on crystals.

#

See Crystal Peak from Hollow Knight;

Also, isn't Coldfang Grotto already a variant of Emberstone Quarry?

are the main themes

Speaking of Sandswept Ruins, what if the variant was a pirate's fortress?

jagged gazelle
#

I was thinking more like...

sweet radish
#

tech focused

jagged gazelle
#

True, but the overall idea was my thought. The ruins are of an old pirate fortress that was left after the sea dried up.

sweet radish
#

know what would be a cool ass theme tho

There is a theory (that I 100% agree with) that the Temple of Time dungeon in Twilight Princess is actually the Temple of Light in the Sacred Realm, where the Chamber of Sages resides.

So I agree.

willow swift
#

it is

#

thats why you have a call back to gohma

#

and the darknut midboss room you can notice the symbol of light on the ground

#

one of coolest dungeon in tp is the arbiter ground too

# willow swift and the darknut midboss room you can notice the symbol of light on the ground

The Light Medallion emblem is everywhere in that dungeon. But there is a crap load more evidence.

The Sacred Grove, where you find the Master Sword, is meant to be the ruins of the Temple of Time, but we don't see any evidence of the massive tower the dungeon is behind the ruins. Just forest.

The entrance to the dungeon requires you strike the Master Sword into its pedestal, like a key. In OoT, it is said the sword is the key into the Temple of Light. Furthermore, Navi flies through the exact window you enter the dungeon through, and you enter using a rainbow staircase much like the bridge the sages make you in OoT.

The room you battle the Darknut in mirrors the Chamber of Sages.

And while you're in the Temple of Time in the past, there's a grey scaling effect added, but it is absent in the dungeon.

willow swift
#

actually the temple of time in tp was buildt over the forest temple one

jagged gazelle
#

Ah. That checks out.

Like it all fits in one

You know how every Zelda game has a different map? Ever wonder how they are all connected? Because I sure did, and now I've finally figured it out!
I figured, them ALL out!
Every. Single. One. (that takes place in Hyrule anyway)
Watch out Zelda theorists, here comes the biggest revelation about the series since the timeline!

EDIT
PART 2 HERE: h...

willow swift

great plateau?

sweet radish
#

It used lore and logic

willow swift
#

anyway each zelda game is a tale

#

timeline shouldnt exist at the first place

jagged gazelle
#

🤦🏼‍♀️

#

That explains it

willow swift
#

otherwise it wouldnt be called "legend" of zelda ya know

sweet radish
#

Why don't you at least watch theory videos yeah they aren't cannon but they help explain stuff

jagged gazelle
sweet radish
willow swift
#

good luck explaining why four swords adventure comes after TP and why they changed again the timeline

sweet radish
#

Be nice Bonk

jagged gazelle
#

The "Real Legend" theory is the single stupidest Zelda theory that is Flat Earth level

sweet radish
#

Your becoming very rude

jagged gazelle
#

I just don't understand how anyone can actually believe that theory

sweet radish
#

Still not a reason to be rude

#

I never heard of the real legend theory tho

willow swift
#

lunarc a theory remains a theory, each have an opinion

jagged gazelle
#

It states there is no timeline, and every game is the same story told by different people

sweet radish
#

It's interesting how ever I don't see it

#

Denise's curse is here

jagged gazelle
#

Exactly

sweet radish
#

Sole reason of the whole Ganon link zelda etc

#

Cycle

#

But still behave yourself Bonk ok?

willow swift
#

each zelda game is a different tale

#

like I said lunarc

jagged gazelle
#

...that exists within an actually very easy to understand timeline

willow swift
#

some are closer to sequels that said if we consider the WW, PH and ST

#

but by exemple four sword adventures, a game that have Ganon and Vaati is jsut after TP? kinda strange

jagged gazelle
#

Yes, but that's how game timelines work. Not all events will make sense and they're subject to change

Most recently, Nintendo decided to ditch the timeline convergence in favor of the open world games being their own timeline since that makes the most sense

willow swift
#

zelda botw and totk have their own timeline

#

so it doesnt even impact previous games

#

but that also show how this timeline is messy

#

they had to put a timeline cuz fans asked for it

brazen zenith
#

Well. More that they released it publicly for their 25th anniversary in 2011 - apparently they’ve had a private version of it around 2002

#

(‘apparently’ being a document that could be that being referred to by Miyamoto in an interview in 2003)

willow swift
#

I jsut know also zelda tp 2 was cut by miyamoto too

brazen zenith
#

damn - it would have been interesting to see how that would have played out

willow swift
#

yeah it was a direct sequel supposed to be darker than MM

Truth be told I’d really just like some kind of “bridge tile” that floats above the second floor; I’m not personally into them being limited to just bridging gaps

brazen zenith
#

tbh my thought process is just. make each floor two floors, if that makes sense?

#

you can toggle between them while they're in maker mode, and if you end up going underneath the floor of the higher level it'd become transparent to see through (if the tiles aren't already)

#

perhaps with jump panels like four swords and minish cap had so you could jump from the lower layer to the higher one. I'd also say let the higher layer of a floor connect to the lower floor of another to make one two-floor tall room, but that's the main thing I doubt would be possible as is

Sandswept Ruins into Spaghetti Western Wild West

bronze sigil
brazen zenith
#

hmmm, I honestly would rather that be its own theme rather than a reskin of Sandswept Ruins. A wooden/wood based building would be a great theme that being said, especially if it could be used for a wild west aesthetic yeah

brazen zenith
#

hmmm...which existing theme could be remixed into/gain a variant that is a library?

sweet radish
brazen zenith
#

I'm not sure I see dewdrop but the other two make sense

#

possible the eventual castle theme as well could get a mystical library variation, but I'm not 100% on that one

actually would be kinda sick to have bookcase walls

#

I wonder what kinda crazy stuff people will come up with for custom themes. thinkin outside the box

#

glass walls? mirror walls? nonexistent walls?

brazen zenith
#

I know that for a crypt/mausoleum/catacomb theme I'd add a wall decoration which is an indentation holding some skeletons. maybe a functional variant which spawns in a few twitchbones or other undead enemies

posting here as it's on topic, do we think the upcoming cave theme is going to be entirely new or do we think its going to be a variation of Emberstone or Coldfang?
