Boss is a massive bull that when it sees the player charges at them in a straight line. Boss can break cracked things, and gets stunned when ramming into walls, letting the player damage them by attacking their backside.

#

As the boss gets closer to dead it gets better at veering toward the player, with its last change in that regard it being able to make exactly one right angle turn before being stuck in a straight path

#

Enraged variant would start being able to make that one right angle turn, but always vulnerable

Sounds like the Moblin Boss from Link's Awakening. Which is a solid boss.

Indeed it does sound like the Moblin Boss. Rather standard mechanic. Only issue I can see is it limits the kinds of arenas you could put him in

Super Dungeon Maker had a boss like that, and I rarely used it before I moved on to Quest Master

I hated that boss solely for how out of place it looked

#

Something about it was just…

It didn’t belong

Same. It almost felt rushed.

I think it, like, turned in all directions or something?

#

And

#

Didn’t have unique sprites for any direction

#

So he just looked wrong

Lmao, I remember that wacky boss.

#

I agree it felt so out of place, but they get the right idea.

I don't think it's inherently a bad idea, but maybe make it more of a mid boss than a full-on boss. Something that's more of a small obstacle to get an item rather than the end fight.

Combine the two ideas

#

And make the boss of Ultrakill 7-1

I don't know what that is 🥲

And that’s just phase one

In phase two after you’ve thoroughly trashed its underside, it comes back at the very end of the level standing up bloodied with a giant battle axe

#

Also it shoots pestilence
