#Storytelling elements

We had one once, but removed.
Reasons are to prevent any potential defamatory or bad words into the level xd.
awwe :(( makes sense, I wanted to make a cool little story where these 3 adventures got trapped in a dungeon and were transformed into the bone bad guys, like you would find out through daires
You could try tell a story using the level's environment, It's much cooler than using texts honestly.
Maybe in the future, with more stuff into the game.
The only thing that would just outright tells you is the signs, but if you're really good at designing a dungeon, you can use something like a skull, shovel and diggable ground.
Overworld map maker will be released soon. But that's as close as a storytelling we are going to get.
omg thank u so much
woah
I am gonna have so much fun, I am a writer
And Julian is trying his hardest to implement prefix texts so that swearing doesn't happen.
understandable
I think pulling a Souls-like and making all texts limited to a set of words would do much to avoid profanity.
I hope we get a choice to add extra words and remove bad language in this game. Or if they try it can be covered up in symbols.
Like in Ocarina of Time with the carpenter boss.
They had to censor his bad language.
But we all know what he said.
That would be ALOT to filter, I know people will bypassed it.
Text censors can be finicky too.
The Carpenter Boss itself works because, Obviously, isn't automated.
Not if Julian is clever enough.
Uhh...
other than it be a cutsy game, why would- nevermind I just put too much faith into people
why would it need to be censored?, but then I realized people would say bad things
also I am assuming since it's going on consoles ERSB won't be happy
Not to mention the tendency for folks to be...lewd.
Inbefore someone makes a very inappropriate dungeon in a shape of a genitalia.
Not the first time.
That's actually a rule of game design, by this point
Give a creator the chance, and [BONGS] will be made
I want to try to make a dungeon into a fox face. And call it, the fox's muzzle.
that's cute
But hopefully this game gets further support. But I hope this storytelling element can be implemented so that it can be used appropriately.
Because Julian did say this game is aimed towards mainly children.
yeah, gives me Minish Cap vibes
I keep an posting this. But here are the dates for future major updates.
an update in my birthday month
hell yeah
I mean
heck
Alright. But great idea btw.
Hope Julian thinks about this idea carefully.
me too
thanks
btw if Julian needs writing help, I can help
Actually, now that I think on it, the ESRB doesn't monitor online content as such. It's like a full disclaimer and everything.
That way some jerk won't ruin the game rating for everyone.
I really want to do storytelling elements like dialog with NPCs, but I understand the need to prevent abuse. Would have been fun, though!
