I am taking about a command which was glorified mostly by all players! Yes, it's /gift command in this command we can gift items to any by typing /gift [name] . It was used in apple mc, banana s4 (chap 1). If that command could come back old players could relate more..

Some yappers will comment like - "what is use of this? We can just tpa and give or etc"
For them here is the answer

During fights, if we need something we can't due to combat so if we tell our friend to do , they can gift us useful items.. It is not only used in pvp but also in many different things.

The reason it was removed due to the last reason you explained yourself

People just keep gifting items to one player

During pvp

While others cant restock

And if you combine that with evoker spawner thats infinite totems aswell

If, we want to add it can't we just do a thing like if a player is in combat the gift command will not work by saying the player is in combat. Set a duration timer like 1-3 hours after u can gift things.

If a player get out of combat for a sec the player can use /gift

And how will the person know if he is in combat or not? If it's VC then it's different perspective

Also another way this can be abused is people can gift someone an item which they probably wouldn't want

and fill their inventories

like i said. /trade basically does the exact same thing

i don't see the point of having 2 of similar commands

the only possible use case i see is that can be used to re gear during combat

even if a person isn't in combat but lets say he is getting chased this would essentially be giving stuff so that they don't have to stop and restock by doing the /shop command and then purchasing the item

this is just extremely flawed

no one is going to stay still for few seconds to buy totems and such

especially when you are in a pvp scenario such as warp ppvp or etc

The first instictive response of a player isn't to buy totems but look for a safe spot and do /spawn or /home

if a player isn't able to gift someone an item just because they are in combat wouldn't that essentially mean letting the player know "that you are in combat"

as a matter of fact then anyone can just try to do /gift (player name) to see if the certain person is in combat or not

We can't change a whole plugin without knowing most of the stuff about it (as we weren't the ones who made the plugin) just to prevent people from doing a specific thing here at our server

Instead of that, a better option is to just not add it
