A suffering emotion, referring to mental or physical health.
Thank you so much
what is a visual/oral text?
Visual text is text you can understand through pictures, (e.g movies, cartoons, etc.)
There aren't actually any words, it's just shown through pictures
can sum1 help with this question?? HOW DOES THE PLATE TECTONIC THEORY AFFECT PEOPLES LIVES?
It affects my life because I have to read this question
Iz science not English
Unrelated (But , because tetonic plates cause earthquakes it affects people's lives)
Hello guys! How would you say to the writer you admire, that his last book was amazing? I just don't want to use such boring words like 'amazing' or 'great'.
IMO, telling a person that you appreciate them or their work can't only be done through the use of adjectives, but also through saying how you felt when you read their work and how it has affected you.
Thank you for your perspective Twinkle. The thing is I don't tell that them directly and only wanted to write short review/message on their FB.
Sure, send it here
I got it, I think ^^ but thx that awnsered.. ^^
I think it s correct. But if u have free time just watch 2 paragraph pls ^^
I would write:
'because architecture is a noble profession'
'that architecture is my vocation'
An architect is a person, so it sounds weird to refer to it as a profession or vocation
kinda jumping in here but you have better than handwriting me, coming from a native aussie
Though, I'm wondering why your essay starts with 'however'. Is that a continuation of another essay you previously wrote? Because essays rarely if not never at all begin with such a word
The only thing that used to matters to Couple's was love.
Is this sentence correct?
You donāt have to take and make my advice as a novel tho, haha. I mean, as a writer myself, I think the author would appreciate your message more if you do this. Okay so well, in addition, you can point out certain little things like great metaphors, passages, and techniques. Authors put a ton of effort into these, and the fact that a reader notices and appreciates them is the greatest compliment they could ever receive. :)
If you want to stick with the use of adjectives, I suggest just go look for the synonyms of the words 'amazing' and 'great' that you think will fit into the context and the way of how you feel about their work. Take astounding, stupendous, sensational, awe-inspiring, and tremendous for examples.
Hi there all, I wrote this sentence: Then I go to school and then I go to my house. But it's sound awkward.
Remove the second 'then I' so it won't sound redundant
Then, I go to school and return home afterwards.
@tight current
Oh thx u.
Thank you for elaboration, Twinkle! Make sense. I have a lot to say about the book and I already wrote detailed review to put it on Amazon.. but it was denied!.. just because I didn't spend 50 dollars this month in Amazon they don't allow me to place a review! Really stupid lol. So I probably will place it on FB instead of the short message. As for objectives I found a lot of them too and thank you for your advice
Bloody hell -- such a typical Amazon in a nutshell moment, hahaha! Anyway, it has been a pleasure for me and you are welcome, Aniezen! ā„ļø
continue.. ( 1, 3 ,4 par are 100% wrote from example...)
what would be the meaning of "nation-pack"
For example: A/One nation-pack of people
is it right to say "what's that mean?" instead of "whats does that mean"?
What's the meaning? --- It's a better option
IĀ have livedĀ in Bristol since 1984. it's present perfect and is it correct sentense? because present perfect mustn't use with specific time. i am correct?
I'd say "What's that mean?" is valid in informal American English, but you shouldn't use it in formal situations.
"I have lived in Bristol since 1984" is a valid sentence, yes.
I've never heard of "nation-pack" before. Could you provide some more context of where you've heard this phrase being used?
Is Couple a person? If so the sentence should be like this: "The only thing that used to matter to Couple was love". You wouldn't put "'s" as that is used to show that something or someone belongs to someone else.
guys I have a contest and we have to talk about the topic Responsibility, what should I talk about?
I believe you should talk about the increasing awareness global society is experiencing regarding social/political/heath/environmental issues, and how that makes us more responsible about the implications of our actions in general
Hi everyone
which female character would you cosplay?
Is this sentence grammatically correct?
The verb 'cosplay'
yes it is correct :]
in english there are a lot of words that can be both nouns and verbs. "Cosplay" ismone of them
is one*
yes! if you want to add this info, just put it right after "character..."
or even "which anime female character would you cosplay?" sounds even more natural
i think that since the word "anime" is helping define the word "character", it can be placed just like a normal adjective
sameeee
in my native language adjectives have different placement haha
Fortunately, sometimes i know which one sounds more natural
After the noun?
YES
Portuguese has both ways sometimes
lol
r/SuddenlyCaralho?
sorry, i guess we should stick to english hahhahshdjbr
kkkkkkkk
but like, have you met anyone else from brazil in this server?

That's a pretty daring question to ask. Competitions are meant to measure your own capabilities. What's the point in attending one yourself, if you want another person to do some parts for you?
If u read this comment, I hope that u have a great day, always stay happy and healthy, and remember, you are one and only in this world, you are unique and I'm really proud of u, just keep goin and do your best:D
How i can speak English fluently?
get out there and talk to locals in person, nothing better than being surrounded by the language you are learning
if you are unable to find fluent speakers/locals in person try on calls
SamĀ has been havingĀ his car for two years it's not correct?
yes, the sentence is incorrect. The sentence "Sam has owned his car for two years" is shorter and grammatically correct.
or "Sam has been using his car for two years"
can you expain me when don't use have been? in this sentence why don't need? because is still continiue, i have a car at the moment. no?
has had and has owned is same?
im currently trying to figure out a way to word why it's wrong in an easy way to understand, I will give explanation
okay
alright, if my 14 year old self is correct. You are using a non-continuous verb in the sentence, which is the word "having". Whilst "having" has the right definition, it is not the correct word choice
Defenition for non-continuous verb
Non-continuous verbs; verbs that cannot be used in continuous forms are usually verbs that you cannot see somebody doing. These verbs are rarely used in continuous forms.
basically your using the wrong verb for owning a car
oh thank you š you are good 14 year old boyš
and done
and know this?
yes they basically mean the same thing, but they can be used for different sentences by your own discretion
has owned is more personal like a car, phone, or jewelry
has had is more for just casual, plain objects/items
as a native i would say "which female anime character would you cosplay?"
(order in which adjectives are placed in english) ^
When should I use something like Was being done
would someone not mind checking for any basic mistakes in my english assignement? it has 260 words š
I'm down
omg thank you ā¤ļø i will dm you
You use "was being done" when talking about an action that you were doing, but you stopped. I believe the tense is know as "past passive"
This website explains a bit about it : https://speakspeak.com/resources/english-grammar-rules/structure-of-english-tenses/structure-of-past-tense-passives-tenses

looking for some help about the schwa from a native
yeah?
were you asking what a schwa is? anyway I was just wondering how natives think of some of the reduced vowels in different syllables
I'm new to book, i want to find a book that suitable for me. I find about 4 words in Harry Potter and I want to read book until I can read book easily like English native speaker. And I want to learn new words the way English native speaker learn it . My favorite genre ( not really) is Young Adult and Classics. Thank you !
If you like classics I would recommend animal farm
what about YA
I would say that is young adult, some other good YA ones are Percy Jackson series and 1984 and to kill a mockingbird
1984 is lit
you have the correct me role so id like to correct you. dont take this personally
"And I want to learn new words the way English native speaker learn it"
you can say "and i want to learn new words the way native english speakers learn them"
thank you ^^
no problem
Hi guys, I have a question about the use of hyphens. If you have the time, please take a look at the following sentence and let me know if I have used the hyphens properly.
During the war, Duke Rogers, a member of "Bloody Daggers" - the country's most ruthless assassin group - made an attempt on the king's life.
If you think it would be better to rearrange the words to avoid the use of hyphens, please feel free to share your feedback.
Looking for a bit of help on a punctuation test
You can use a comma instead of a hyphen. It's more common
Also, you aren't really supposed to use hyphens to separate clauses. Hyphens are for compound words only. Clauses use the em dash
Thanks for the feedback, Chloe! š
How to stop pausing to search for new words while watching a TV show. And how to learn the words from book.
What do you mean
First, when I watch American TV show thatās a lot of words I donāt know and Iām often pausing and it distracted. Second, I donāt know how to use new word in book
The only way to not pause the show is you just roll with not learning the word or you just donāt watch it. The book you can take the word and search for it in a dictionary
I mean like should I watch the film 2 times The first time weāre going to look up the new words and the second times we will look up the word in the dictionary and watch it again .Is it OK
Do I need to make a record of every new words I meet in the books or just use that new words
You could do that I guess
No but if it helps you can
What is the difference?
- I have lived here since 2000
- I have been living here since 2000
Thank you for answering my question !
I have a question about the mixing of tenses.
The context: The story takes place in the past. And a soldier is talking to the son of his former comrade about events that happened 10 years ago. And the soldier said...
"I believe your father had his difficulties back then. We served in the same platoon, so I know exactly what sort of person he is. He's no traitor!"
My questions are:
-
Regarding the first sentence in the paragraph, is it okay to have both "believe and "had" in the same sentence?
-
Regarding the second sentence, is it okay to have "We served" and "I know" lumped together? On the one hand, he's talking about an event in the past and then he immediately says "...so I know exactly..."
I believe <- (present) your father had <- (past) his difficulties back in time, together we were <- (past) serving in the same platoon. I know exactly what kind of person your father was<- (past), he was <- (past) no traitor!
Thanks for your feedback, mystic! š
What a community this is, you had to wait that long? Just DM me next time I'll do it for free.
Actually I disagree that anyone under the age of 18 is a child because adult hood doesn't has spifec age.it depends how much you meet of events and learning from your mistakes contribute to be an adult and findĀ solutions for the problems make you able to distinguish between the correct and wrong that will make you take better decisions, also when you have a lot of responsibilities thes responsibilities will contribute to get experience with information thatĀ will affect in your life in different ways for exmble like when you traveling alon that will make you feel more independent and adult . finally becoming adult mean you will have alot of responsibilities to do and starting think about future from now is a good idea to do .
I'm trying to answer no1 is my answer good enough and right?
Actually I disagree that anyone under the age of 18 is a child because adulthood doesn't has a specific age.It depends on how you encounter the events and learn from your mistakes , contributes to being an adult and finding solutions for the problems makes us able to distinguish between what is correct and what is wrong which will help us take better decisions , also when we have lots of responsibilities , they contribute to get experience with information that will affect in our life in different ways. For example , like when we are travelling alone , it will make us feel more independent and grown up. Therefore becoming an adult means we will have lots of responsibilities to hold and starting thinking about future from now on would be a great idea.
I have done all the corrections needed and edited some sentences here
Wow thanks
Also when u r writing an answer or an essay or summary don't use "you" when u r referring to someone. Use we that would make the reader more comfortable
Is my the answer gopd?

Another Games ?
Other Games ?
Which one is right?
Other games
What's different
Thanks :)
We don't help in cheating
Uhm like other games would be you're asking them what other games. Like I think other goes well with the plural stuff and another goes well with the singular stuff. But still I'd prefer to say other over another.
other games
Another = singular
other= plural
Haaaaaa

Where
why ?
It sounds right and it fits fine
No
??
Think about you are listening to it at a location your work
in which ?
That would work
that ?
What about that
so betweenwhere and in which, which is correct
Both
Depends on the context
so where can replace inwhich/on which/ at which ?
\
You canāt use on which
this is the beach on which i proposed to her
Yes that works
were just one big family
No Weāre just one big family.
you wouldnt believe your eyes
No itās You wouldnāt believe your eyes
please take me away from here
Yes that is good
Yo
hello, can someone tell me which sentence is better and why?
a) We were never so sure that our coin can be valued at way over 1 USD one day
b) We were never so sure that one day our coin can be valued at way over 1 USD
b because a sounds like the coin would be valued at 1 USD a day rather than one day
@zinc inlet thank you, though i hoped that option a is completely wrong š
They mean the same, its the passive vs the active verb thingy
I'd pick B out of the sentences you provided but imo it reads grammatically poorly, perhaps it needs a slight adjustment.
Eg: "We were never sure that one day our coin could be valued over 1 USD"
šš
hello guys
what covers desert environment?
is the question correct
I didn't quite understand the question. Could you give some context?
Did you mean to ask what conditions (like temperature and vegetation) are present in a desert environment?
no
i mean the desserts are covered by sand
now i want to ask and the answer should be sand
Then I would say:
'What kind of material covers a desert environment?' Or if you want to be extra specific: 'what kind of granular material covers a desert environment?'
'What covers ...' is a bit too general imo. People might get confused
thank you got it
I am having difficulty formulating the questions correctly. how can I overcome this problem?
Just keep practicing
Hi
terrible handwriting
Thanks :)
Please, don't be rude.
Wait I can try.

Hi y'all
Even though I don't have problems with English it still sometimes surprises me. For example at the end of the video the women say "I'm loving you". I know that sometimes it is possible to use love with the -ing ending but does it convey or bear additional meaning in this context? Why didn't they say simply "I love you". https://youtu.be/gpZeHFDPaxQ
This mother with Alzheimer's recognizes her daughter, Kelly for the first time.
Thats a good question.
But I don't know the answer
I hope so native speaker will be able to explain it
Yep I guess
I'm C1 and I know it's a possible use of this verb but it is generally condemned by many grammar books. I wonder if there's a rule that regulates it :)
hahhaha
you are German I presume
B: that is correct
A: drop "be" and it's correct,
B: correct
A correct
B: Yes, I do. But when I'm late I have a problem, I can't be good at running like you can
Verb tense difference
could not tell you what they're called because I haven't looked that far into the terms but
I love you is just a generic... well, I love you
I am loving you, implies like, "I am currently in the process of loving you, right now"
though
I'm also a bit confused
and I would rather not upset myself by watching the video lmao
Aight. That makes sense. I'd say I'm loving it for example if I was talking about someone's new haircut but never to tell someone that I love him lol
Thanks for ya help
AH
I CAN EXPLAIN
DIALECT
you are listening to a US southern dialect
where, as I'm a speaker of a branch of it, we like to be very random with the verb tenses
though this verb tense is trying to imply being cute or "lovey" if I may use that term
@eager bone
but yes
that also works
I love it would also work
Thank man. That's really helpful. I appreciate your help
my pleasure
Hello! What's the difference between shivers, goosebumps and chills? Thank you for your help!
I have no idea what a chill is to be honest, goosebumps are those bumps you get on your skin when u are cold or get adrenaline ig, Shivers are like when u uncontrollably move when its cold to warm urself up
Im sure someone has a better explanation than this monstrosity
Thank you for replying me @stoic pine
to shiver is to shake(like when you're cold)
to have goosebumps are those bumps you get predominantly on your arms when you're cold or excited or anxious
chills is that feeling inside that makes you shiver, or can be used as an expression to say something creeps you oug
First sentence is in the present tense, second one is in the past tense
Which one is correct or there is a change in meaning? ārealyā and āreallyā
@whole rune there's no such word as "realy". It's spelled with double L
Thank you
Hey guys, I have a sentence that have something wrong:
"I bought a lottery ticket, if I am lucky I must win a million dollars."
But I can't identify where's the mistake. Someone can help?
thank you :)
"i bought a lottery ticket, if i am lucky i could win a million dollars"
i think that's the right way
yes
Yeah I think this makes more sense.
thanks
No problem
By the way those are fun, u should do this more often
what's mean 'get by'?
You stole my sentence ( is it right ? )
Instead of license-plate lottery, can I use license plate lottery? What's the difference with using "-" and not using it?
Either can be used, however a ā-ā is more formal.
Thanks, your majesty. š
No problem.
"if you told him, why wouldn't he believed in you"
"if you told him, why wouldn't he have believed in you"
both mean the same?
thank you š
Other phenomena resulted(resulting) from urbanization.
resulted, or resulting, which one is correct in the sentence.
Resulted, however if more words are added on it may change
Ie. Other phenomena resulting from urbanisation caused the disturbances.
The full sentence is "Other phenomena resulted (resulting) from urbanization include dry islands, wet islands, dark islands and rain islands in cities."
With that context I would say āresultingā.
I thought resulted was the natural and correct choice for this sentence. Why use the -ing form?
how about "Other phenomena, result from..."
Is it because the sentence can be restructured as "urbanization resulting other phenomena such as dry islands, wet islands, ..."
It's difficult to comprehend the use of -ing form here.
Yeah, I would use that myself. or another way like "...caused by..."
I usually intend to perceive A is on the receiving end of action initiated by B, so I'd put passive tense verbs before B.
as for me.. i would simply say "Other phenomena as a result from urbanization"
i don't know if it's correct tho
I think it's grammatically correct, but "a result of" is more commonly used than "from".
sorry i meant 'of' in there
ok š
I've just made a typo coping the original sentence
That's an achievement you know. lol
from is exclusively for verbs I guess
according to this answer I found on the internet
That's easy to understand.
Is it okay to omit the preposition of in/on in the sentence "Money should be invested *(in)" where it is needed the most, and where it can generate profit?
Same for the sentence "A report released (on) Friday"?
yes
You have enough of something (for example money) to survive in a certain situation.
E.g:
I have enough money to get by (Means I have enough money that I can have the basic needs: food, water, shelter, etc.)
Could anybody please clarify what '...to trouble the notion of...' means here?
Is it supposed to be synonymous with 'challenging the notion...' because from what I understand, gender performativity is a very binary issue (masculine x feminine performativity - eg. items, clothes, ways of dressing that clearly indicate one of the two elements) which when confronted with how non-binary individuals behave and use their bodies, the line's blurred and consequentially, a non-binary person's characteristics become harder to distinguish (and if not, it clashes with their identity bc of binary sex).
Hello
whoever wrote this could definitely worry about other things in life but yes "troubling the notion of" and "challenging the notion of" are synonymous
yes
Thank you!
what's the difference between simper and titter?
iirc, simper is to smile in a silly way while titter is to nervously laugh
both quietly?
@hasty estuary @vernal sandal thank you very much
Yes in the way that it can be a way to describe a situation but i feel without context it's a hard question to answer to be honest.
If you flip the sentence around it's a little naughty lmao

Yes, it exists
Yes, all these exist, because they make sense
It's a bit hard to decipher what they mean though without context
Could you tell, is it normal to use adverbs-markers for particular time (already, just, always, etc.) in other times (in formal way)?
I don't see why not?

Ok, thanks.
Hi, I have a little problem here. I have a cartoon i have to analyse in English class, but I can't see the message the artist want to give (or I'm not sure if m thoughts are right about it). Can anyone help me find the main point/ message of the cartoon, please?
Sure
Can you show the cartoon
the thing is that the guy is making anti-immigrant art and a guy (who i assume is intended to be an immigrant) helps him spell the words
immigration more like /tp
Is saying "They look way similar." and "They look so similar." means the same thing?
Yes
Ok! Thanks @zenith ether !
hello, can i ask what's the difference between
one of my bases on how I understand myself.
one of my bases on how I can understand myself.
one of my bases on how I will understand myself.
i'm confused.
thank u!
If you're asking about the second part, understand myself, then this is what it means: (i'm not really sure of the first part
First sentence:How do you currently understand yourself
Second sentence:How are you/will you be able to understand yourself
Third sentence:How will you be able to understand yourself
The second and third phrase mean the same, but the third phrase emphasizes more on the future.
" you must be ready for change whenever it needed " is this sentence grammatically correct?
add 'is' after 'it'
Thank a lot !!!
Twinkle, did you create this server?
@zenith ether
Uhm, no? Lol
Who is it then?
ViƧek
Good, when was the server created?
I dunno
And #š«ļ½beginner-chat, we can talk there if you have any further questions
Alright. That's fine.
In a poem can a foot start on a line and finish in another?
How do you use apparently?
'apparently' means something like 'it seems' or 'it appears'.
I wanted to invite him to go out for dinner. But, apparently, he wasn't in the mood for it.
"Apparently" is used to indicate that you think something is true, but you aren't sure.
Examples include:
-
"The prices have gone up. Apparently, this is because minimum wage increased."
-
"Our reports say that we had a 20% increase in profits. This is apparently because of a boost in interest in product X."
Hello, Are these sentences correct?
John, being confused about the test, ask the teacher.
John, confused about the test, ask the teacher.
Neither are correct. The tenses do not match, and the wording is a little strange. The proper sentence is:
"John, who was confused about the test, asked the teacher."
"Being", in this context, sounds strange. Using "who" is better.
Thank you very much
Ty!!
Look back at / on the journey ... "at" or "on", which one is correct or more appropriate in this sentence? What's the difference in the meaning if one is used instead of another?
u can use on (whole journey) or in (for specific portion[s])
'Look back at' sounds weird in this context imo. It sounds to me as if you're referring to a location (as in, some place behind you, literally) and not a point in time.
'Look back on' sounds more natural if you're referring to the past (in this case, a journey).
I looked back on our journey in the west. - Good
I looked back at our journey in the west. - Nope, doesn't sit right with me
Native speakers correct me if I'm wrong
Context matters the most here. Since this is a command, "Look back!", it depends on what the object of the sentence is.
"Look back at that" - this refers to a literal location or object.
"Look back on that" - this refers to something in the past, i.e. "look back on your trials and tribulations".
"Look back at the journey" sounds weird, but "look back at that journey" sounds better because it treats the journey like an object.
It sounds okay, but still a little strange. I've not heard someone say "look back at that journey" often.
Thank you all very much.
hello, can somebody here help me proof read my paper, i'll dm u
I can read it over.
If you want, you can send it my way.
Ok will do
When people have questions, they will ask here.
I saw a meme and it felt right to me, but when I analyzed the structure, it sounds strange.
Does āEuropeans being bilingualā seem strange to you?
Asians knowing 3 or more languages = Asians who know 3 or more languages
Europeans being bilingual = Europeans who are being bilingual ???
The phrase is informal, but it is correct.
I.e. "Europeans being bilingual isn't a surprising thing."
Hi, i have a question about sentence rules in english, i want to know when a sentence is correct because i read a lot of english but don't know how to write correct sentences and how to identify the mistakes, this same message is based on my own guesses, i don't know if its correctly wrote.
Thanks
Whenever a sentence is written, it has these three characteristics:
- The tenses match.
- It expresses one complete thought.
- It has a subject, a verb, and sometimes an object.
A sentence is correct when these three criteria are all present. Your question, in proper English, would be like follows:
"Hi, I have a question about sentence rules in English. I want to know about when a sentence is correct," so on and forth.
is it okay if I say
I'm a 16 year old person
or it's like
I'm a 16 yearS old person
pls help
Saying that you're a person sounds off. It's okay to say "I'm 16 years old."
no like. well I know
@flat rune can u go to #šļ½introduction? idk if my intro is good or not
It's good.
oh okay thx
what's the difference between i was reading and i reading?
i reading is not grammatically correct
I was reading implies you were in the process of doing the verb of "read", you were READING a book
I am going to presume you mean "I am reading" which implies that you are reading at this current moment
or I read, which is just a generic, "i read" It's nothing special it's just the present tense and you are reading something
I read a book - you are stating that you are reading a book
I just realized read is also an irregular verb in the past tenses but we don't talk about that
The former means that you were reading something. The latter isn't correct because it lacks a person.
hello
can anyone help me finish my 2nd/body paragraph?
I'm writing a letter to a friend about a sports day they missed that was recently held at your school.
i only need 40 words more
Dear Eric,
How are you doing? Itās a shame that you were unable to attend our school's sports day yesterday due to a headache, but I'm hoping you'll feel well soon. I just wanted to send you this letter to let you know what you've been missing out on.
Yesterday's school sports day was a blast, but it would've been even better if you were there.
Well, now you know how much fun you were missing out on. I'm sorry we didn't get to see the craziness together; we wouldāve had a great time. Just make sure you don't miss the next one; it won't be long!
All the best,
Seuchy
Just tell a story about the highlights of the event
Dear Eric,
How are you doing? Itās a shame that you were unable to attend our school's sports day yesterday due to a headache, but I'm hoping you'll feel well soon. I just wanted to send you this letter to let you know what you've been missing out on.
Yesterday's school sports day was a blast, but it would've been even better if you were there. I competed in a few competitions and received the Best Athlete Award. I competed in the 100-meter race, relay race, and long jump and won gold medals in all three of them.
The gold medal in the 100-meter race was the most difficult of all the medals to win. I just came out on top by a few inches. When my name was announced as the best sportsman of the athletic competition, I was overjoyed. At school, I also earned a lot of praise. My name appeared in the local media. Everyone congratulated me. I thank god for this achievement.
Well, now you know how much fun you were missing out on. I'm sorry we didn't get to spend time together; we wouldāve had a great time. Just make sure you don't miss the next one; it won't be long!
All the best,
Seuchy
is this good enough?
Seems good but I think it sounds like you are just telling him things concerning you? Haha
so which part do u want me to change?
The semicolons in the final paragraph should be removed.
Uhmmm, the thing is you used personal language and it should only be used as a support for the development of the main idea, and should not be the main idea itself. Like your main idea can be seen here, "...to let you know what you've been missing out on," "Yesterday's school sports day was a blast," so, therefore, you should discuss more about the event itself and not what happened to you during the event. So basically, just reduce the sentences that start with 'I' and replace them with... for example
I competed in a few competitions and received the Best Athlete Award
To
A lot of people took part in the competitions such as the 100-meter race, relay race, long jump, etc., and medals and the Best Athlete Award have been awarded to winners. Fortunately, I was one of them.
alright, i'll change
how about the third paragraph?
or should i just remove the third paragraph
Hi guys, I have a question about capitalization. Please tell me which of the following choices is correct.
**A) "They are going to tear each other to bits!" A passerby said in horror.
B) "They are going to tear each other to bits!" a passerby said in horror.**
Should it be "A passerby" or "a passerby"?
Elaborate the first sentence. Provide more supporting details and again, reduce the 'I' parts
The first sentence is correct. One always capitalizes after a sentence ends.
thanks for the feedback! š
does this make sense:
"It's because I just started on my other assignment and thankfully it's not as bad as I anticipated."
Yes
merci
"I will start the connection from calling you first" - can you please tell me, does this sentence have any sense?
Not really, I'd rephrase it like "I'll call you first".
I just need to highlight that connection will start from calling the person
"I'll call you first to start the connection"
Like that?
Yes! Thank you so much!
No problem
It makes sense only when elaborated on prior.
I will start the connection from calling you first.
"I will start the connection by calling you first."
It emphasizes more how the connection is made.
Thank you very much!
Can anyone help me with this?
What exactly you need help with? It seems you will have to write a report about learning online. Its difficulties, ways to overcome the difficulties and the results as well. You will have to be creative
I don't know how it should look
I need to make a pdf in the end
And how should introduction look like?
I think you could start with the difficulties encountered
Or maybe the positive side of learning online before and then the difficulties encountered
Guys why do you go in a car but you go on a bus ?
Hello. I have a question, but first i must give the situation.
My school gave me an ID with a PIN: 123456
I did not create this number, my school did.
I got a new card, a CAC (common access card) and i was told to create a pin, so i chose my school pin: 123456. I copied this number.
Is it correct for me to say:
I made my school pin, my CAC pin
Can it be i make may cac pin the same as my school pin
?
Yes but you're adding words to it. I'm asking if what I'm saying is proper/correct
I told you it's fine, that's how I'd say it in a conversation
I think the general rule is: for large vehicles that you can walk inside of it you use ON. And for the small ones you use IN
Hey I need help rn I've got an exam
So what's more grammatically acceptable "Because in that time ""I get to do"" whatever I couldnt do because of the academic stress" in this sentence is it better to write I get to do or should I just write "because in that time "I have free time" to do whatever I couldnt do...." what's more grammatically acceptable in this sentence "I get to" or " i have free time"
You could use;
"I have time to do the things I couldn't do before. "
but I'm not 100% sure because I couldn't understand what you want to convey in that sentence.
In the exam I have to right about what I'm going to do in this summer holdiday
So I didnt want to make any Grammer mistakes
@trail hazel
It goes like "my fav time of the year is summer holidays. Because in that time I have to time to do ....
So this sentence grammatically correct?
My favorite time of the year is summer holidays because I have time to do the things I couldn't do when I have classes.
You ended the first sentence too early.
Or to do whatever I couldnt do because of the academic stress
That's too confusing.
But the teacher would like it more ain't gonna lie
This is due to the size difference. Cars, small boats, rockets, etc., are all small and don't let you walk around much in them.
Buses, trains, and planes, though... They're massive. They also let you walk around a lot in them, so we say "on".
I remember asking my mother about this, too. Additionally, the buses, trains, and etc., are all treated like platforms, not containers.
What
Then follow it up with;
Without academic stress I could continue doing my hobbies like...(list hobbies here).
"Because (the break or holidays here) gives me a chance to ignore my academic stress and do what I love."
The sentence is grammatically correct already, but it's large and clunky.
What do you call a person or a group of people who protect a stolen something (these people have stolen that thing and even protecting it).
Which book do you think is the best for practicing Ielts ?
I study English for many year in school but I still don't know, why?
I hate grammer.
I'd say Thief
Thief (singular)
Thieves (plural)
The emphasis is on the stealing, not so much the protection, though.
Hello Everyone~
It has "the" there because it's one day being referenced. Time is a concept, a day is a measurement thereof.
I have a question. This guy said, "Wait, has he fought anybody else outside from Paul?" does this mean has he fought anybody else "aside" from Paul?
outside = aside?
That's a mistake the speaker made. It should be "aside from", unless Paul is a location.
@flat rune Thank you so much for clarifying that for me Senseiš
No problem!
@flat rune still there Sensei?
What's up?
He actually said, "Wait, has he fought anybody else outside of Paul?"
still the same meaning?
Paul is a person btw
He likely means to say "aside from". It's one of the common errors made by some English speakers.
Another example of a common error would be: "You did good."
I seeeee! Thanks again Sensei!
It's no problem!
Who can help me here
I'm afraid we can't help you. We aren't allowed to help with exam or homework.
We can help you with the meaning of the words but we won't give you the answer tho
really
or you just made it up by yourself ?
Check the channel description.
differences between execute 'perform ' implement
Is that a question? I can't tell
So, how to use the word "perform" ?
Power verbs are kinda hard to use in suitable situation
there might be differences between them
I mean we can't use these words every situation instead of "Do or Make'
Yeah
So which special activities or smt
So you need to know when to use the word "perform", right?
Okay
I am performing task that my mom told to me to accomplish in 2 hours
in this sentence can I use execute or implement?
That could work, but the situation is a little too bland for that word
it's kinda formal right
Yeah
So like
"The doctor performed his surgery with great precision"
or
"The dancers performed elegantly as they leapt across the stage"
Those type of sentences
yeah of course perform mostly uses in music i think
And some tasks
so entertain and perform must be same
Entertain and perform are not the same, but they're similar in certain ways.
If we're referring to stage performances, entertain is to appeal to the crowd. Perform is more to do the routine
ah I get it
My descriptions aren't as good since I woke up a while ago, sorry
so when should we use execute and implement?Cambridge said especially plan or aggreement. you are putting your etc into effect
nah you're doing great
in my country it's about to sleep time
Execute is similar to perform, they can both mean "to carry out a plan or routine"
implement is the same as well
For execute,
you could use it in sentences like
"She decided to execute her plan the next morning"
"The circus clowns executed their routine perfectly"
"The dog executed the plan without hesitation"
for implement,
"The company planned to implement a new contract for their new branch"
"They planned to implement the plan without being seen"
"He went home satisfied knowing the plan was implemented"

I really love your guys culture
My mom told me to go japan
Yeah
It's cleaner
Japan extremely varies.
True
Japan can be both extremely welcoming and extremely hostile.
Yeah
The countryside is known for being overtly racist, last I checked. Like most places.
Tokyo and some other cities are alright.
Cultural exports make a place seem better than what it is. Whoever the insider and outsider is makes the land even more different.
See: LA or California.
Foreigners usually love both places whereas those on the mainland generally loathe them.
it's happens
That it does.
It's why I will never live in Athens.
Hawaii isn't as bad if you ignore the sand that gets in small places, tsunami alarms going off sometimes, cockroaches, rats, mongeese, sunburn, sharks, jellyfish, Portuguese man of war, itchy plants, ants, bees, wasps, etc.
There's a lot more
here education system really suck bro

Public education usually sucks, to be honest.
You should see my old school

Speaking of your emigration plan, what state do you plan on moving to, @timid venture ?

For birthdays?
yeah like that
For birthdays there's sometimes a party
It depends on if anyone wants to have it
It depends on the family and person.
I stopped celebrating my birthday(s) to save my family on costs.
Just run around the house and scream "ITS MY BIRTHDAY"
That could be celebrating
For free
Yeah lol

I rather stay inside and draw

hi, I have to write a poem for English class and I want to know if anyone has any tips on how to make a poem deep
I love writing poems
You can DM it to me or send it here and I'll help you edit it
I'm still in the process of putting my poems together but I really dislike them at the moment
we're writing an anthology btw
Ok
I feel like they're way too shallow, and they don't have any deeper meaning if you get what I'm saying?
okay why don't I tell you about my ideas, and maybe by talking it through I'll gain some new ideas
Okay
one of my poems is about an unrealistic and naĆÆve desire for a utopian world
ooh
I'm going to try writing a dramatic monologue(similar to a soliloquy)
I initially wanted to make it a casual conversational style to really show the innocence of the speaker, but as I'm writing I feel like there's nothing beyond the literal meaning
Yeah I think I get what you mean
I'm opening with the lines
A world, perfect and pure is my only desire
Where suffering and pain is no more
That's pretty good so far
then the speaker addresses the audience directly and says
You think itās impossible?
Anything is possible
If you try hard enough, that is
Nice
and this part specifically, I feel like it's too prose style to be poetry
Yeah a bit
Maybe make it like "If the heart --------"
Instead of "If you try hard enough, that is"
ooh I like that
also I want to try and incorporate an overarching metaphor in this poem, I feel like it'd be interesting
wait why don't I get rid of that whole stanza and move on to the next one which is just
You think Iām blinded by fantasies?
Iām firmly grounded, mind you
Yeah that's better actually
Do you think I should let them go on more about the things they want before they start interacting with the audience
good idea
now that just sounds like a fever dreamš¤£
Make it seem like the speaker's there, describing their surroundings
Lol yeah
I searched up characteristics of a utopia and I found this lmao
https://resources.finalsite.net/images/v1531855841/springbranchisdcom/x2ah4ijftreakownscaa/Summer-Read-9-Eng1-Utopias.pdf

But yeah so like
"The (color) sky smeared with (color)"
"The grass (verb) under my feet"
ah I was thinking something completely different
stuff like
"Poverty is no more"
"Everyone is equal"
"Racism, sexism, crime is gone"
That could work
the irony here is that these are all things we want to achieve in this world, but wanting them without a solid plan as to how to get there is the childish part
you could kind of combine the two stanzas by ending the second with something like
"Pain? no such thing"
ooh
So like merge the "directly talk to the audience" w/ describing the utopia
that's really cool
it's like the speaker's on a political campaign and talking to the reporters
omg that'd be a really neat idea
Yeah
idk how much history you know, but this reminds me of Herbert Hoover's "a chicken in every pot, 2 cars in every garage" rhetoric
it's alright! tysm for helping!!
Ofc!
aight ik you left but I had this really good idea I really wanted to share so
I'm going to use an overarching metaphor of flowers that represent human lives, so when I say thing like "a world where flowers never wilt or die" I'll be alluding to immortal humans that never get sick
I love that idea actually
From reading the poem, it comes from how blatant you are making your point.
A lot of poems, especially in English, don't focus on blatantness, rather they focus on symbolic items and parts of nature. They can be literal, but usually only when describing a scene.
Innocence is uncovered by how extreme or ignorant someone can be (in this context). If this perfect world hasn't been achieved, and it's a monologue, then the poem could focus on the speaker bringing up very extreme, childish ideas, and then be confused as to why none of them worked/are working.
Ooh I see I see, Iāll try it out thank you!
Not completely done but how's this
A world perfect and pure is my only desire
Where flowers will bloom like flickering fires
They shall not wilt, their flames canāt be quenched
No flower shall bloom before another,
The roses shall lose their prickly thorns
How will I do this? Trial and error!
Fantasy? No!
Iām grounded, mind you
Iāll shoot for the skies
Iāll plant you this world
This world is not mine,
Itās everyoneās world!
Weāll own it together,
These flowers and I
future simple uses the construction:
will + (base form of verb)
example: will eat, will sleep, will go
future continuous or progressive uses the construction:
will be + (present participle of verb)
example: will be eating, will be sleeping, will be going
roughly speaking, the future continuous is used when you want to emphasize the fact that you will be doing something in the future for an indefinite period of time
@flat rune
Yes. He is good in swimming
What does "I don't pay you to eat" mean?
It means that the person who said that doesn't pay you to waste your time eating.
What's different in this?:
To think of
To think about
That's pretty good.
No, you are not incorrect to write: "He is good at swimming".
"In", in this context, refers to a class or container, not the action.
Got it, thanks
Thank you
They are oftentimes interchangeable but in other instances, to think of something means that you're aware of it but haven't given it much thought and that, you're only aware of its existence.
On the other hand, when you think about something, it usually implies that you are paying more attention to it.
E.g.,
-
No, I swear! I never thought of hurting your feelings.
-
Yes, I am aware of your party next week and I promise that I will think about it.
It's the same with heard of and heard about
Have you ever heard of Queens? (Asks if you have an idea of what Queens is)
Have you heard about Queens? (Asks about your knowledge of a specific event that happened to Queens)

Why this meme use "was" why Doesnt use "were" ?doesn't that "color" belong to "it"?
Why this meme use "was" why Doesnt use "were" ?doesn't that "color" belong to "it"?
Yess!
Were is used when the pronoun is You/We/They
Was is used when the pronoun is I/He/She/It
rainbow needs an article regardless
question: how would you describe second hand nostalgia
yes it's me again, that person who has to write poems for school
guys why being like noisy to someone also called "attacking" someone?
Guys
Itās not attacking someone maybe they just donāt like you getting in there business haha
GUYS DO YALL KNOW, how to increase your vocabulary knowledge like i use word coach but it doesnt save it yk, is there like any apps
Are you asking why being annoyingly loud (or overall annoying) to offend someone or being rude to another is called "attacking"?
It depends on the speaker, but it's usually considered "harassment" or "pestering" to do that. The former if one is intimidating, the latter if one is being a pest.
Nostalgia coming from something one hasn't personally been around to experience before.
read news articles or books then write down words you don't get with their definition and try to use them in a sentence
I have difficulty with in, on at
How do you mean? With time, location, etc.?
In so/such sense... which would be more suitable and why?
Using āin the sense ofā¦ā would probably suit whatever youāre looking for best
Though it does depend
Not without a massive wall, no.
The intricacies are numerous.
Hi! Hmm can you maybe provide some context? Like an example of when you struggle with when to use them?
Like
At/in/on 8:00 o'clock
At/in/on my house
It is At/in/on my home
When i use in, on, at In all things
Okay so I would say that when itās related to time, you would generally use āatā. E.g. Letās meet at 8pm / The movie is at 8pm tonight
Your second example is a little more tricky as the terms can be used interchangeably depending on the circumstances.
Generally speaking, both āatā and āinā can be used for your example of the house / home (a location).
E.g. Iām at home right now / I left my book at home
Iām in my house right now / My phone is in the house
We generally only use āonā you are literally on top of something. So we wouldnāt use āonā for the house unless to describe somewhere that we are standing on. E.g. Iām on the roof / Weāre on the second floor
Haha sorry if thatās not the best explanation š
hey guys, Iām writing yet another poem, and Iām curious as to what you think this one is about(just an outline of ideas so far)
Poem starts with speaker walking outside in the morning
She realizes that itās spring, and reflects on winter
She walks for awhile before breaking into a jog
Reflects on how a change in weather makes everything seem different
After awhile, the road starts going uphill and she tires and gets out of breath
Eventually she stops and looks at the view, and thinks about how even though sheās still running like before, the view is completely different
what do you think is the central message/theme of this poem?
I saw this phrase in an article today. I had never heard of it either, so I wanted to ask it.
Hello
Can someone explain me the meaning of sentence: I cross my heart and hope to live
Oh thats great! Thxxx
I read this going AT my home
I guess its right š
I did a search for you and the first thing that returned was "I cross my heart and hope to die" which means is a promise that you're telling the truth
For example, "I locked the doorācross my heart and hope to die!
I found it as well, thanks
I think the main theme Change is inevitable
It's my English homework, pls help me check it
The internet is being used for a lot of things. The benefits of the internet are immense. No one can deny it.
The internet is a place where people can freely share information, which means you can find everything you want on the internet.
Firstly, the internet is a source of information. You can read and watch the latest articles, news, weather forecasts, etc. You can also get information from a long time ago or information in other countries but don't need to go there.
Secondly, by internet, you can watch movies, listen to music, play video games, chat with everyone, etc. Every time, everywhere you want.
Finally, useful for students, the internet is also applied to learning and schools. You can participate in online classes, find out what you are interested in outside of school on the internet, share knowledge, and learn from each other.
After all, The internet plays a very important role in people's lives, helping people connect and helping build modern thinking and lifestyle.
not exactly, but you're on the right track
perspective of the view?
I'll send the poem when I'm completely done, maybe that will make it easier
can you give a tip?
Like something will change, you can't control everything, but u still able to control your actions
yup!
the part about spring and winter is about the impact of attitude
weather = emotions and that leads to attitude
oh, now I understand
interesting, will wait with patience
alright, I'm done but if you have feedback please lmk
One More Day
I wipe away these lingering tears,
Morningās sun rays are shining through
I toss aside the box of tissues,
As I tie my laces and open the door
Springās gentle breath ruffles my hair,
As I bitterly recall Winterās stinging bites
I break into a run along sparkling grass
The newly formed dew, yearning for light
The leaves had only begun to defrost,
The flowers had yet to experience the world
Iām jogging down this familiar path,
But so much has changed, and itās only begun
My footsteps falter and my vision blurs,
I canāt go further, so I stop and turn
Admiring the view, I inhale in shock
Unknown to me, I was scaling a hill
Though I was running just like before,
Repetitive motion, but the scenery shifts
Letās keep climbing till we reach the top
Run with me, come on letās go
Hey
is this wrong?
Hey, I have a question regarding the SAT exam, does the topics of the english/math change each year ?
For ex, I dont want to spend time studying trigonometry/circles and up not coming In the exam
I have a 2016/2017 math/english book should I start studying from there?
SAT Math and English usually draw from the same areas but have different questions.
As long as you study Statistics/Algebra/Trigonometry/Geometry, you should be fine with Math.
These are the topics that are in the (The College Panda), all these topics are coming in the sat right?
@flat rune
They should.
Hey guys. I have a question. There is a sentence "up to 1 minute instead of 1-3 days" and I thought that "up to" sounds wrong in this situation, because it is usually used in situation to emphasize the higher end, while in this case it the opposite, and "under 1 minute" would sound much better. Am I just overthinking?
@forest mango Yeah.
because you included "instead of"
unless you want to specify that higher end of one minute, under sounds more natural.
Thank you š
Ok thanks
Hi there,
I would like to know if there is a reason or rule that explains why
āa growth in creativityā sounds good while
āa growth in respectā does not
I prefer to use the word development instead of growth but canāt understand if thatās justified and if so, why
It sounds weird because no one says: "A growth in respect."
There's no rule or reason, it just sounds strange.
Thanks
I believe because, respect is earned or acquired through deeds where as creativity is developed and nurtured upon what is already there.
You were born with a certain form of creativity which needs to be developed and practiced. But for respect, we were born with nothing, and over time displayed virtues and conducted ourselves in a manner that earned us that respect.
It's like respect is a box of knives a chef uses and the individual were acquired over time, but honing their skills with the knife comes over time, with working over what is already there.
It's possible to experience a growth in respect for something. It sounds fine to state such, actually.
Respect, though, isn't entirely earned or acquired.
There is a basic level thereof, hence "with all due respect".
yea "growth in respect" sounds very awkward
Hi guys, i'm new here š It's great to meet everyone here. I'm 18 years old and currently enrolled in high school. My English (writing, sentences, and words) has been poor since Primary School and continues to be due to me being a slacker because no friends in school and consistent bullying. I've always been assigned to the lowest level of English class (dumb class, as it's known at my school).
Now our country is in lockdown now so I won't have to deal with the bullying as I am in home all day so I want to use this time to seriously improve my English. Please help me improve my English? I'm making this post in the hopes that you guys can recommend some good English textbooks or resources to help me learn and improve my current English to make it better and professional š Sorry for the nuisance.
greetings
Hi there! You aren't being a nuisance at all. Feel free to ask any questions you have in this channel!
Dear Claudia
We recently interviewed three candidates for this position.
We have decided to appoint Mrs.Chantal Lefevre.
I will briefly describe the candidateās strengths and explain the reasons for our decision.
First, Mrs.Lefevre has a good academic background. She has a degree in Business Administration and a diploma in Marketing. With that education, she has amazing experience in the business and marketing field: two yearsā market research, then over 15 yearsā sales and marketing in various companies. Through those years, this dynamic woman has developed such exceptional numeracy and analytical skills that all of her previous positions have achieved no disappointment but a good sales record. We think she can definitely develop marketing strategies and be able to increase our sales revenue.
Second, her being a sociable person, a chief organizer of a local tennis club is a great quality to lead and inspire the sales team. Our sales revenue was below target due to one of the reasons that the staff are not highly motivated. Itās apparent that the human part plays a very active role in the success of a company. If they arenāt met with the perfectly suitable leader, even he/she is so distinguished, talented, all of the members will never see eye to eye. We firmly believe that Mrs.Lefevre has enough leadership qualities to build a strong connection to the team.
Third, she is fluent in Portuguese and excellent in English. This will make her understand more about the staff and communicate well with the employees, customers, and all the business partners. The position will involve frequent travel in three countries (Brazil, Argentina, Colombia) so her intermediate Spanish is a plus point. Besides, our company considers itās a good thing because weāll spend less money by not hiring a translator.
We hope youāre satisfied with our decision.
Best wishes,
The interviewing team.
Someone please helps me with my homework. Are there any mistakes need to be correct in my passage?
yay great to hear :D. I would like to know if any of you guys can recommend some good English textbooks or resources to help me learn and improve my current English to make it better and professional?
You should listen to a lot of Youtube videos or movies in english, and if you're advanced enough, only subtitles in english. I recommend TED talks as they usually have subtitles.
You can watch comedy movies if you're looking to pick up informal language (but it doesn't have to be comedies)
Does the phrase 'it is not any of your business' means the very same as 'it is none of your business' and how unusually that sounds for a native?
I'm not a native speaker but I think they both means the same and it is not common to use the first one I guess
Yeah, I thought so because I found only three examples of its usage in literature
"Not any" and "none" refer to the same thing. The only difference a speaker would pick up would be if the emphasis was put on "any" or not.
To answer your question - "That's not any of your business" means the same thing as "that's none of your business."
Both are common.
I would say it is correct: proper usage of language (high business vocabulary), and a good expression of the context. I may say, if you allow me to do so, that the ambiguity he/she is a bit improper for the context as it is a formal piece of writing. I would substitute it with further synonym for leader, for the purpose of not sounding redundant. For instance, the expression head chief, or another related term would fit for me. Furthermore, in academic and formal English the use of contractions is a bit limited, and it depends on the context that you are writing this piece for. I would, however, polish this aspect (i.e.: are not instead of aren't; and it is instead of it's). Note, however, that the utilisation of Saxon genitive is wholly permitted. In regards to the composition structure, the three body paragraphs mark the rhythm for your tiny narration. Nonetheless, the introduction should be more cohesive and not three separate sentences that introduce the reader to the issue, but this is just a mere recommendation. Other than that, the text is really proficient, I don't know what the rest of the participants would say, but it is my view of it. Congrats!
should you have any further doubt, let me know
Thank you so muchh, you helped me a lot. So lucky to get to know this wonderful sever. I love you 3000
I understood that reference hehe
Hello š
hi
How are you doing today
The character I admire the most is mama. She seems to be the most encouraging and caring in the play. To her, money isn't a problem as long as you have a dream is what's more important. Having dreams is more important to her than wealth, this is why she disproved Walter's idea. It also wasn't Christians business management. Furthermore, she wants her family to be able to respect themselves, eachother, and be delightful in their dreams. She wants her children to be as happy as they can be and she wants to be able to provide for them. She's always putting her children first before herself and finding ways to make them happy. For example, having a bigger house for Travis to play in. Telling Beneatha not to not waste her time or being a fool to be with George, giving guidance and advice. Giving Walter the change of the insurance money. Overall, mama, deeply cares about her children and not many parents would even try that hard to make sure their children are happy in life. That's why I think she is the most admired character.

Most of it is very good

Hmm
It just came through me. Excuse me but I'm atheist so if this sounds silly, do forgive me.
"If the first pair created were Adam and Eve, why do we have so many different races?"
Okay bye
Doesn't make sense either
I don't understand the question.
Y... You'll figure it out my friend...
In context, it doesn't make much sense, I'm afraid.
An explanation would be : genetics
I know we shouldnāt ask anything related to hw here but I just want to recheck with any expert here if i use the right words in the green circles (only the green one would be enough)
The ones in the green circle r good.
Thank you ~
Np anytime.
"whether it brings about economic growth" , in here "brings about" can be replaced with "brings". But what are the differences for conveying the meaning in the context?
What's the difference between "build a global community of development with a shared future. " and "build a global development community with a shared future. "?
I think the latter would be better.
I think you can replace them. but I think "brings about" puts more emphasis on the phrase that what you said previously result in economic growth.
I got a message saying that my school will be doing a enlightening meeting so what does it mean?
Probably just something like a discussion about a topic that hasn't been tackled lately. For example is enlightening on the effects of vaccines, the rate of teenage pregnancy in your area, and others.
But I might be probably wrong.
thanks for responding!
Their off-springs being separated from each other and living in different environmental conditions would lead to adaptive changes in their physical structure.
It's not like children inherit all of their traits from their parents.
Btw, I'm an atheist too. So, I really don't know why I'm defending this š
"Brings about" puts more emphasis on the entire process and sounds more poetic.
The latter is incomplete. It's trying to cut out fluff, but sounds half-completed. If you leave it at "Build a global development community", it fits more because the "shared future" is already assumed due to it being global.
Personally, the former is better all around. It sounds more important, whereas the latter sounds like the writer is cutting corners in sentence structure.
That's a strange title. It means that you'll be talking and learning a lot on a subject.
But, it might also just be there to sound cool. "Enlighten" and all terms with it are meant to reflect a sort of otherworldly or extreme jump in understanding in a topic.
Yeah
like removing someone from something with force
Yea datās the obvious meaning, so umm do u mean he other man here is the girlās father?
If so why didnāt they just say āhe was pulled off of himā
But umm if pulled in dis context mean to get help. It makes sense⦠as after he got help from the ones he turned to he stabbed the father
@zenith ether
Iām just a beginner, how would i know
@sudden parrot help
Dis is my second english novel, I donāt really read english dat much
where's the question
IDK, I've read it like five times now, I still don't get it
here
what does that phrase mean
"After he was pulled off the other man"?
I mean maybe u could easily tell by my shitty english, am trying to improve tho
I'm interpreting it as like they were in a fight and they were wrestling on the ground, and someone lifted him up off of the other person
Whoās the other person?
Read dis
the father of the girl he was trying to rape
yikes
OHHHH so that's what it isss
that escalated quickly
Is it sarcasm ?
the author sucks
no

oh ok I'm kinda seeing where the confusion is coming from
is this like fan-fiction?
So i was just wasting my time on the authorās mistake all dis time
Yea light novel
Yeah honestly, like this is just poorly written tbh
anyway, I think my first answer is somehow related in this context -- what I didn't get was like the transition of the text happened instantly lol and the author didn't elaborate the things that happened during the fight --- they just went like, oof surprise, they're killing each other!
are light novels like a specific type of fan-fiction?
Yea
Nooo
Noo
Sowwy
this LOL
