Generally, I’d recommend learning a little Latin (“Lingua Latina per se illustrata” by Hans Ørberg is a really well-researched beginner lesson set up as a kid’s picture book that’ll teach you all you need to know unless you’re interested in learning more). That’ll directly make English vocabulary, Spanish, Italian, French, Portuguese, and other languages like Romanian very easy to learn. It’s also really useful in many other ways. Otherwise, my suggestion would be to start with Italian since it’s the more complex language and you’ll learn things that’ll make Spanish “click” more easily once you move on to that. But really, they’re so similar that you could always pick the one that interests you most! I’m happy to help or answer any more questions! 😎
