A lot of people seem to not understand how therapy works unfortunately. Therapists don't just say nice things to their clients, therapy is actually not about saying nice thing. Therapy is about making the client realistic, and clients often go with it with a mindset that's maybe not fully prepared to change their perspectives about their lives and decisions, but they of course do expect and have some level of willingness to change, they go to therapy in the first place because they know they have problems they wanna solve.
Recently I saw a sketch that seems to mock mental health professionals and people who seek them, and it proposes a lot of ignorant ideas about the process. One of them is that people who go to therapy would be so sensitive to be told to eat healthy and workout, and that therapists do not tell that to their clients, which is a very ridiculous thing to assume because it's literally one of the most basic advice in regards to mental health, and it's something therapists do say to their clients.
I bet the people who made the skit are conservative and religious, we often see this stupidity and ignorance from that side.
