Almost all EU and NATO countries bend over for them

#

Even if the remaining NATO countries chose to strike back, none of them could since only these have aerial refuelling tankers and would be able to have that range: US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Netherlands and Canada. Turkey have them too, but they'd be on their own in that hypothetical

slender coral
# lilac iron Give me an explanation of what was written in it That bothered you

Everything šŸ˜…
Firstly how unorganized the book is. The Quran wasn't written all at once, it's verses were made on the spot as events unfolded in front of Mohamed, simply because he is just a human who cannot predict the future.
Islamic beliefs say the Quran is the word of god, though this word of god isn't very useful, Sharia laws and Islamic teachings mainly come from Sunnah books because the supposed word of god failed at addressing problems and questions effectively.

manic juniper
#

The remaining countries are the least likely to care about fighting Israel, they're all the countries that joined because of protection from Turkey, Serbia or Russia

#

Countries that need to be part of NATO the most

fresh flower
slender coral
#

NATO doesn't sound very useful lol

manic juniper

For example it worked against Russia and Serbia so far. No NATO country was invaded by either

slender coral

Why did Turkey join in the first place? They needed protection from the Russians?

lilac iron
# slender coral Everything šŸ˜… Firstly how unorganized the book is. The Quran wasn't written all ...

The Qur'an describes itself as a "reminder" and "guidance", not as a history book or legal manual. Its style is more poetic, cyclical, and thematic The order we have today is according to how the Prophet arranged it under God's command, not how events unfolded. Muslims view this as divine arrangement, not human editing
Its non-linear style is seen as part of its rhetorical and spiritual power - moving the reader/listener between themes of faith, history, law, and reflection Many verses were revealed in reaction to questions, crises, or specific circumstances. This makes it feel reactive rather than predictive
This is actually acknowledged openly in
Islam - revelation was gradual (over 23 years). The Qur'an itself says this was deliberate: "So We may strengthen your heart thereby, and We have revealed it gradually" (Qur'an 25:32)
And those words are by no means human handwriting And no human has predicted the future Everything that was said was by order of God

Men being physically stronger than women is still rooted in genetics, hormones, muscle mass distribution, skeletal structure etc... regardless of the culture or the environment, men on average are far stronger physically than women. The degree of the difference may vary with nutrition, training, environment etc... but the direction of the difference remains the same. It's constant in that sense.
The Israeli occupation vs Palestine on the other hand, is not necessarily constant and can suddenly change, .e.g., if the power dynamics shifts, using certain battle strategies etc... I believe it's already shifting, by the way.

The Quran is a big nothing burger. It does try to give rules but those rules either change in the Quran itself (alcohol was allowed then disallowed) or are often ignored in favor of what comes in Sunnah. Mohamed made, or as you say Allah revealed, verses on the spot.
The order is a different matter, it's very arbitrary. Take Surah al-Fajr as an example. First it's about the dawn, then suddenly it's talking about Ȃd, ThamĆ»d, and Faron, then it's talking about how bad a human act with his god when he is upset for bad things that happens to them, then it's talking about the end of times. It's very random, because the book didn't have a structure from the start.

It's a very relevant topic honestly. From my understand, the idea of preaching faith is something that seems special to two religion: Christianity and Islam. Other than that religion is seen as either a personal matter in secular countries or local matter in conservative religious communities and societies.
When you look at Christianity and Islam, you'd find fundamentalism is more common among Muslims. That makes their beliefs clash more with a variety of different groups, hence it's talked about very often. That's how I see it at least.

He does in many instances talk about Muslims, not Islam. I can't stand stereotyping Muslims, and I can't stand Islamophobic disinformation that causes the oppression and death of Muslims in many countries around the globe.

I could also come up and say all types of things about Arab atheists, and even back it up with evidence, but I don't do that. Most of my messages defending Islam are reactions not actions, I don't pop up in the chat I say this this and that like he does.

arctic heart

# slender coral I often forget about this. Idk much about the other faiths so I often assume it'...

A lot of other faiths have questionable texts and structures too. The main difference is that a lot of Muslim areas got their resources exploited and made Christian areas more rich, and thus Christian areas had better chance to develop. Also, capitalism itself was invented in Christian Europe, and the rapid industrialization and change in economic activity reformed the beliefs your average Christian holds, which the average Muslim hasn’t had the chance to do because of US and British and French imperialism.

So, I don't see anything that addresses my criticisms to Quran here. Those are verses that promote Tawhid (the oneness of god), and that doesn't change that the book is unorganized and repetitive as I said before.
Now regarding Tawhid, I do not think it's enough to prove that the message of Mohamed came from the true god. Sure, it's more simple than polytheism, but the simplicity of something doesn't necessarily mean it's right.

Clips wise,

1: not good for sure.
2: clearly a criticism of the religion being in charge of the country, not individual believers
3: idk what’s in that video, what exactly was an attack on Muslims there
4: idk what’s in that video but weren’t they killed by ISIS?
5: ā€œpeople in the Muslim worldā€ could also refer to Christians in Muslim countries. It’s not an attack directed at Muslims but rather using places where Islam is most common in order to draw a geographical boundary (turns out they have a lot of shared history, and thus historical conditions)
6: certainly not good to generalize like that. I disagreed with that at the time too.

So overall it looks like he said one or two things, based out of the fact that fundamentalists rule his life.

I have this theory that we don't have much racist hate crimes in Arab countries as a result of two things: the first is that the country may suck so everyone is living a bad life (Egypt). Or the country is rich but migrants never get treated equally as the citizens, they are lesser on many aspects.
It seems like racism rises when political sides benefit from it and the people get the feeling like the "outsiders are taking their places", though this is a feeling that the Arabian Gulf people get often even with the inequality they have with migrants.
It's not that Arabs are angels or something.

I don't buy the whole "fundamentalists run Egypt" thing. The government breaks Islamic teachings all the time.
Plus, no Muslim actually calls himself "fundamentalist". That label doesn't make sense.
Anyhow, responding to every claim he throws out is just exhausting, especially if you've studied the religion well enough to spot the deception in what he's saying. That's why I'm trying so hard not to be ragebaited, but it's difficult when I see others just nodding unconditionally, especially to Islamophobic propaganda claims.

I've met many secular Egyptians, they don't seem to have those problems he claims to have. He seems more like a secular ex-Muslim advocating for his ideas by demonizing Muslims, otherwise, nobody here asks you whether you're truly a Muslim or not.
I did call fundamentalism good because it's concept is indeed good. It simply means adhering to the fundamental teachings of a religion, i.e., without imposing external ideologies on it.

Ok well the world doesn’t revolve around you, obviously you have different lives and different experiences. The polling he shared seemingly does indicate a strong level of support for Islamic law in Egypt, which would certainly go against the fact he wants secularism and suggest there’s a high amount of extremely religious people in Egypt. And in a country as populous as Egypt finding secular people wouldn’t be surprising either.

But yes, he would like to demonize the system which people use to constantly justify their abhorrent actions. That shouldn’t be surprising. At times does he say things that could be generalizing? Sure. I’m not defending that, I’m explaining where it comes from and understanding the material pressures which created his whole situation.

Idk much about the religious reason, but Muslim countries tend to suppress religious discourse. In the average Muslim country, you can't criticize Islam or you'd face prison or even death sometimes.
In the case of apostates like me, there's certainly no promotion of respectful dialogue nor using logic. We get the death penalty according to this Hadith.

But in my opinion, this has nothing to do with religion, but is related to the degree of conservatism in the region, just like conservatives in some developed countries also beat or insult some minority groups.

Most common name is Mohamed mainly because of Muslim immigrants. I think something many people need to understand about the idea of the fastest growing religion is other faiths don't heavily promote proselytization (Dawah) like Islam, and on the other hand Muslim countries and communities heavily suppress dissent against Islam. Even in the west, on a social level those who leave Islam become outcasts for their families and communities, and on an intellectual level those who criticize Islam may get assassinated or harassed. Salman Rushdie got an assassination attempt against him, Ayaan Hirsi walks around with bodyguards, and recently we had Ashur Sarnaya killed.
The framework protects itself, not through logic but through being loud and fanatical.

@turbid dome
That's a good case study of this devil's deception. Notice he says "In the case of apostates like me, there's certainly no promotion of respectful dialogue nor using logic. We get the death penalty according to this Hadith.".

That's simply not true. In Islam we have the concept of Istitabah, applied and dictated since the time of companions of the prophet. Meaning that scholars sit down with the apostate and start addressing his doubts and issues. The death penalty is applied under strict conditions and through Islamic court after the due process. No vigilantism here, although he is making it sound like that.

Regarding non-Muslims in general:

Let there be no compulsion in religion, for the truth stands out clearly from falsehood. So whoever renounces false gods and believes in Allah has certainly grasped the firmest, unfailing hand-hold. And Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
[Qur'an 2:256]

Now this is Here we have a good case study of Islamic dawah misleading tactics. You give criticism to something that's very obviously suppressive about the faith, and as a response they accuse you of dishonesty because you didn't mention the details of how they suppress others. With Istitabah or not, there's no freedom of speech here because the only people who can hear you are people already deeply submerged in the faith and approach you with the sole intent of converting you.

A liberal Muslim homosexual ACLU lawyer professor and abortion doctor was teaching a class on Karl Marx, known atheist: "Before the class begins, you must get on your knees and worship Marx and accept that he was the most highly-evolved being the world has ever known, even greater than Jesus Christ!" At this moment, a brave, patriotic, pro-life Navy SEAL champion who had served 1500 tours of duty and understood the necessity of war and fully supported all military decision made by the United States stood up and held up a rock: "How old is this rock?" The arrogant professor smirked quite Jewishly and smugly replied ā€œ4.6 billion years, you stupid Christian" "Wrong. It's been 5,000 years since God created it. If it was 4.6 billion years old and evolution, as you say, is real... then it should be an animal now." The professor was visibly shaken, and dropped his chalk and copy of Origin of the Species. He stormed out of the room crying those liberal crocodile tears. The students applauded and all registered Republican that day and accepted Jesus as their lord and savior. An eagle named "Small Government" flew into the room and perched atop the American Flag and shed a tear on the chalk. The pledge of allegiance was read several times, and God himself showed up and enacted a flat tax rate across the country. The professor lost his tenure and was fired the next day. He died of the gay plague AIDS and was tossed into the lake of fire for all eternity. Semper Fi.

Then says: "With Istitabah or not, there's no freedom of speech here because the only people who can hear you are people already deeply submerged in the faith and approach you with the sole intent of converting you."

Denying the existence of any dialogue only to acknowledge a system of dialogue. Even funnier, shifts the goalpost and starts criticizing that system instead of admitting he quite literally lied.

Difficult to say because it was probably perceived and treated as a sect of Judaism, also they had different interpretations ever since the beginning because they had no central organ to control how the religion is spread, you had Arians that believed Jesus was created by the father and didn't exist since the beginning of times, while Trinitarians believed in the one god three people principle and the son is coeternal with the father thus uncreated

talking about Iraq as an example. No, everyone coexists here and no one is forced to do anything. Even recently, a personal status law was issued for each Muslim sect so that no one is wronged at the expense of the other because they have some differences. There are churches and there are houses of worship for Mandaeans and Sabeans as well , even if they are small minority, yet they exist.
