i spent some time in the U.S. a while back, following the senior P.G.A. tour, driving from one event to the next.
on a stop somewhere in kentucky, i met a group of youngsters.
we got talking and obviously they got curious about my accent so they asked where i was from.
at first i said "france" cause i was born there, they asked me where that was, one of them asked if it was "somewhere in paris"....
so my father being british i decided to swap allegiance and said i was british and lived in england....

then another one asked what language we speak in england.

i replied "english".

they then said, they meant the native language of ENGLand, cause they knew everybody speaks ENGLish because it's their language but they wanted to know what our own native language in ENGLand was....

i noticed the smell one night but thought nothing of it at first. and at any rate i couldnt really prove it was connected.
but i had no pest problems there so the fact that within a month and a half all my bees were dead is odd.

Similar issues in USA 🇺🇸 on the east coast where I live… I didn’t see anyone spraying anything, but I trap feral honey bee swarms… usually i get 5 or 8 out of a year… 2025 I only get one swarm .. and my plants are usually full of vegetables and fruits but this year I noticed less blooms pollinated and dying and less bees in total
