I think it tries to pretend it has answers by means of rituals and rules, in an attempt to lessen the inquisitive mind of the opposition, for in the times the religion gained foothold, it massively boosted the control a ruler had over their subjects, I think this is part of what has misshapen most religions, going from a pretend answer to questions unknown, to a gathering of rules, to enforce control

Would you not say that a god almighty is unlikely to want much from us beyond entertainment? What reason would there be that all these religions have so many rules beyond to control the believers, when even only one of them can be right, at least unless we take a theory where somehow multiple gods did all the things and still all religious texts are somehow true or whatever

I believe as far aswe are concerned we have free will, but I also believe that everything was determined from the start of the universe, because without interference, the exact same things would happen, the same thoughts thought, etc, no matter how often things are rewound, the same thing happens exactly the same way
