Why do you object? I mean we have a huge amount of African, Asian, Indigenous and European elements in our culture and phenotype as Brazilians.

It can be said that Italians are all genetically close, but in the Italian peninsula there have been many dominations, which have led to variations of the genetics. It can be said that in the north there was a great Germanic and Celtic influence, which is still noticeable today. In fact, there are several dialects such as Lombard, Venetian, Occitan and real languages like Ladin and Romansh. There are also minority languages such as German (of which I am a member) and Slovenian. Obviously in the north there was also an influence from some Roman colonists who settled in the Po Valley. Central Italy is genetically different also because, before the Romans, there was Etruscan domination. The Etruscans were a people who probably came from the Near East. Let's not forget Rome, one of the first cities formed by Indo-European inhabitants, who led to the spread of Latin in the Italian peninsula. Southern Italy is different from the north and the south because there were Greek colonies in the cities of Crotone, Taranto, Paestum, Syracuse and Naples. Then the Samnites arrived and after that the Romans. Furthermore, during the imperial age, several immigrants arrived in southern Italy from Anatolia and this led to greater ethnic mixing. During the Middle Ages, southern Italy was also conquered by the Normans (Duchy of Benevento), and, in Sicily, there was a strong immigration of Lombards due to Frederick II. Also in southern Italy there was also a migration of Jews from Eastern Europe due to strong anti-Semitic feelings. Sardinia, on the other hand, has a very different migratory background from the rest of the peninsula, in fact Sardinians are genetically closer to North Africans. All this ethnic mixing contributed to what we now call Italy.
