Yeah

feral river
#

still not bad.

onyx hazel
#

everything in this world has bias, lol

feral river
#

that's how US benefit their people through war.

#

I think it's no problem with that.

#

every global power do.

manic juniper
feral river
#

some people doesn't promote it because they don't have power.

#

but we have LOL.

manic juniper
#

It is a benefit to US economy nut it doesn't benefit the average person

narrow fossil
manic juniper
#

Most of the times it's like that, whenever a country is looted only the higher ups share the booty while everybody else either had to do the work or even has to pay extra

feral river
#

lower class also has a little benefit

manic juniper
onyx hazel
#

"But you seem to think that this dudes "proof" is somehow not bias?"

of course no, There's no such thing as something without bias.

feral river
#

they stands up and maintain their superpower is the best for their people

#

which means benefit them in almost any field you can imagine

manic juniper
narrow fossil
#

Countries lose a lot to maintain wars

feral river
narrow fossil
#

expecially if you lose

feral river
#

but if you lose, that's another story

#

so a war is just like gambling

narrow fossil
feral river
manic juniper
#

Given how many soldiers get PTSD I wouldn't say it's beneficial to them either

#

And in the case of USA they don't even provide enough support to those people

feral river
manic juniper
narrow fossil
manic juniper
#

Maybe our leaders have heavier pockets now, how sad

feral river
#

why would america improve iraqi lives ?

manic juniper
feral river
#

it doesn't make sense

manic juniper
#

Did Iraq improve the lives of Americans?

#

I didn't mention Iraqis one time

narrow fossil
feral river
narrow fossil
#

It just got us more ptsd soldiers coming back home

feral river
#

that's the most important thing in Iraqi war for USA

#

it's big for economy

#

a big win

manic juniper
narrow fossil
#

US gets most of its oil from saudi tho

feral river
#

if they lose, their economy will be damaged by Iraqi

#

I think no one can tolerate

#

no one can tolerate another country influence their superpower status and their economy power.

#

if they lose, there is no such thing called oil-US dollar bound.

#

they must win

#

no matter how many bombs they drop, no matter how many soldiers they deploy, it's about economy, about their lives, about national security

#

about prosperity of the United States

#

even in here, China, we have some bias on the US, no doubt that Iraq war is mostly benefit the USA

#

and their people.

manic juniper
#

Iraq wasn't really about national security

narrow fossil
#

so it kinda was national security in a way

feral river
#

USA is superpower, they have power around the world

manic juniper
feral river
#

everywhere is about their security

#

there is almost no where is not about US security

#

US is global power.

manic juniper
#

That's international security, not national

#

National means within their borders

feral river
#

international is based on the US

#

after USSR dissolved

#

their interest is almost covering every part of this world

#

even in space

narrow fossil
feral river
#

I would say international is based on their interest.

manic juniper
narrow fossil
feral river
#

foreign interest is important even that is US

manic juniper
#

All countries have international interests through diplomacy in a way or another

narrow fossil
#

Like Saudi is interational intrests because it is foreign to the US

feral river
#

they do because they can call a lot of their allies and sanction target nation

#

that's what they always doing

#

I'm not confusing international and national but acutally, almost every international issue is US's issue

#

even they care a freaking island far from their homeland

manic juniper
#

They care but it isn't a national security threat

#

If Taiwan gets invaded and conquered Americans will be as safe as they always used to be

feral river
#

if they interfere that would be a national security threat

#

a big threat from the second most powerful nation

#

China

manic juniper
#

Only if China sends spies in USA

feral river
#

I think they all have their spy network aren't they ?

manic juniper
#

But that's national security because it's about US territory, whether overseas like bases or embassies or in their own country

#

Taiwan per se isn't about US national security

#

Their bases in Taiwan are

U.S. General Douglas MacArthur pointed out that before World War II, the US protected its western shores with a line of defense from Hawaii, Guam, to the Philippines. However, this line of defense was attacked by Japan with the Pearl Harbor bombing of 1941, thereby drawing the U.S. into the war. The US subsequently launched the air Raid on Taipei (called Taihoku under Japan's empire) and launched the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The WW2 victory allowed the US to expand its line of defense further west to the coast of Asia, and thus the US controlled the first island chain.[15] Between the end of WW2 and the Korean War, MacArthur praised Taiwan, located at the midpoint of the first island chain, as an 'unsinkable aircraft carrier'.[16]

Races=subspecies of humans? What are they supposed to be? Because humans don't have subspecies for example

All human populations always were connected to one another in a way, and we weren't separated for more than few thousands of years (which isn't enough to make a subspecies diverge from another)

The definition difference between patriotism, nationalism, & xenophobia can be a bit skewed.

#

But to be a nationalist, I don't think you necessarily have to hate every other country (or even any country).

#

Same for xenophobia, you don't need to hate every other country to be a xenophobe.

#

But it's ambiguous sometimes ig. šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

grave temple
#

doesnt matter if u hate 1 or 10 countries

#

if you hate/fear its auto xenophobic

#

i wouldnt say its ambiguous or skewed between nationalism, patriotism or xenophobia

#

you could be nationalistic or patriotic without hating any country

#

e.g. some americans are patriotic of their multicultural populace

#

proud to be american

#

nationalism is definitely a form of xenophobia

per se as most nationalists see their country as the best

thorny steeple
# manic juniper It must be similar in nearby countries

How can I say an example: If a girl is studying in a mixed boys and girls school and she wants to go to the washroom for a private reason and the teacher who is teaching the class is a man and there are boys which are students and she is shy and at the same time its very embarrassing to say her private problem to the teacher but still she gets up and raise her hand in front of everyone and asks for the leave without shyness because she has to unless she can't do anything if she did she is gonna get blamed (This is kind of a slavery)

Oh ofc I agree with what you said. however, I disagree with your comment that it isn’t ambiguous or skewed. those three definitions can be hard to pinpoint and some examples are hard to pin down to one or two of those. already, your claim that nationalism is definitely a form of xenophobia is trivial (some people like me disagree). I don’t think nationalism is xenophobia. and we could argue what the qualities of xenophobia or nationalism are (or even patriotism and its limit), and we might disagree. although, nationalism and xenophobia are often accompaniments to each other

Nationalism and patriotism are in conflict, I don't know if they're compatible even

gaunt bronze
#

nationalism is an extremist ā€œbadā€ form of patriotism

manic juniper
#

If you only support one nation rather than all of them in your country then you aren't really being patriotic

gaunt bronze
#

I mean, there’s consensus on some of its characteristics but we can disagree about it

#

like this is a bad example but say

#

Your country hosts the olympics Idk, if you want your country’s athlĆØtes to win against every other country and that you hope the other countries do bad idk

#

Is that just patriotism, or does that extend to nationalism?

#

There’s probably better tribunals to put defining the characteristics of these three forms of love of one’s country to the test

manic juniper
#

It can be either patriotic or nationalistic

gaunt bronze
#

It’s an ambivalent scenario šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

#

Some ppl will say it’s patriotism, others nationalistic (or both idk), or you could argue it could be xenophobia

#

As one could interpret wanting the other countries’ Olympic athletes to do bad = hate???

#

Regardless, it is a bit hypocritical of me, but I think it’s bad to draw black and white borders on nationalism patriotism and xenophobia

#

But if you’re able to come up with robust characteristics then that would be impressive

#

Idk what I’m yapping about Srry 😭

manic juniper
#

The system is designed to aid the needy who have no other way out and can't afford anything at all at obviously the most basic level, not the average man who can, should & must do the basics by himself, which are listed in the video.

It’s reall easy to Balme everything on the schools and education, What you think is slavery is just them doing their to teach kids manners, I’m not saying all schools are good, But things like asking for permission before you out to do your personal things, or putting hand up if you want to ask questions, those are called manners, and if you don’t learn it when you are young it makes it hard to learn when you are older.

You mean the education system just got better, for good. Why not? What's wrong with honoring the certificate that was earned through days and nights of study? You've just gotten closer to what you want to become in the future, which is really close. If you pick some stupid course and do not get the job, then blame yourself. You picked that course. If you had thought and picked the right course, you wouldn't be unemployed. Also, the certificate represents the unseen stress and anxiety, countless years of hard work. You can lose the certificate the next day, but you won't lose the knowledge. In today's time, the more knowledge you have, the more successful you have the chances of becoming. Running away from your problems isn't the best solution. You run because you can't face your problems head-on, like you, who didn't even answer me directly on my points and decided to give some bullshit explanation on why education is slavery. Also, you are scared of failing because you did not study. If you had studied your best for the exam, then you wouldn't be scared. Only an unprepared person is the one who is scared of the challenges. If you fail, you simply didn't study enough. It is your fault, not the school nor education. If you think the test is hard, then it is what it is. It's not something that you have not been taught. Like I have said before, if the student himself is unwilling to make the extra efforts and relies entirely on the government, then it's obvious he will have to struggle accordingly.

jolly agate
#

If you don't like the school or you think education is slavery, you are allowed to open your own business or get a full-time job. Nothing is stopping you from doing that. But here's the problem: many people don't like to think beyond the borders that their schools have set for them. You are allowed to think, and you can choose not to think and go to school blindly, not doing homework or paying attention in class. You are bound to be scared when you have to face challenges yourself, and you will fail, no doubt. Then you blame schools like, 'Oh, it's hard and it's scary or it’s a slavery.' No-one, like some pathetic cowards. Even yourself. If you are going to follow the path that the government has set for you without a second thought, then you will struggle the same as others, no less or more. Blame yourself for your own weakness, not the education system, which is made for those people who are in need. If you follow the government's path properly, you will have a good future. If you want to do that, then think—think about what you can do, think about what you should do.

I'd like to argue with that. if you study in a school that has teachers that don't really have an interest in helping their students develop their skills further for anticipation of the future, they most likely are just working for the money. I do really want to reply to this in earnest but sadly I'm pressed for time, however I'll give you my two cents of though:

-Society creates too much pressure and expectations for graduates to immediately get a certificate and job straight out of college or uni.

-parents are too paranoid about their kids not being to care for them in the future if they don't have a line of work, especially when households nowadays birth fewer children. life expectancy has also increased through the roof so the burden of caring for the old has also increased.

uncut hound
#

the second point is most valid for countries like Japan. with too many elders to care for, newer generations of Japanese are opting to not have children at all due to the strain on their finances and lack of hope that they'd be able to care for their children at all due to the work culture there as well

Are you referring to the school programs that are amended every year to concorde with the students' level? They have to change the programs accordingly to students' level - the school programs are mostly based on statistics. I mean it's well known that the previous programs were better such as the exams were harder before because the level is degrading each year thus they have to make it less hard. creepy

society and culture is a major factor in determining the care given to a child's education. china and it's neighbors usually put a lot of focus into studying whatever the teacher says at a fast pace in school

I mean, it's fair to say that the school graduating system is utterly based on knowing how to mesmorize texts or math formulas that you won't have to lend a hand on in daily life in lieu of actually teaching useful knowledge. Because you see, school is relevant in your life but it becomes more relevant once you've reached superior studies, however the school beforehands isn't really important, though it is because it teaches you basics but it's not concrete. You get to learn your future job in superior studies hence why I think they should teach better knowledge that are useful instead of learning general and useless knowledge.

It's tricky to say because it depends on the profession. I doubt anybody would like to be operated by an unqualified surgeon, right? I mean if you were to study plumbery and learned a lot of things during your studies, but unfortunately failed at it. You can however learn while practicing in real life with a monitor, and in the end receive the certificate. But it's really job depending. They want you to have excellent grades and results in studies which lead you to a profession that requires diplomas and strong knowledge of the job like doctor, for example. Moreover, it's really society based. Every country has a different school system

It depends on individual, where they live, How there parents are, Their environment, are they suffering for any inherent disease. Life is a blessing for me, but if you were to ask the same question to those who have their limbs blown off becuase two countries don’t like each other, you may get an alternative answer. Or ask a child who is suffering from cancer, or his parents died in front of him. There are numerous scenario where one thinks life is a curse or blessing. At the end of the day, it’s their life they get to choose whether they living under a curse or a blessing.
