Pharisees were sect - they wanted the Messiah great warrior and king but it wasn't written in the OT and it even sounds strange to expect from God something like they wanted. As I remember there are about 350 fulfilled prophecies of the Christ. So, I should check the term sect first.

The church didn't exist yet, there were Jews with different beliefs, some of those sects went extinct, merged with other forms of Judaism, and at least one of them (or more, that merged) formed Christianity but it's difficult to say when it definitely detached from it

#

Christians existed before Christianity because Christianity wasn't defined yet, but they were only slightly different from other Jews at first. See it in the same way most Europeans used to share one religion, and over time they split and differentiated until they looked nothing alike

#

Hindus and most Europeans used to have the same beliefs once, for example

#

Christianity stopped being associated with Judaism once it was different enough and stopped being an ethnic religion: aka it wasn't a Jewish-only thing anymore, but had Greek, Ethiopian, Caucasian and Roman followers

Evaluation of strategic energy alternatives determined for Northern Cyprus document with SWOT based MCDM integrated approach
Abstract
Today, energy management is of strategic importance, and evaluating options is an important step for decision-makers in energy management. The lack of strategy for the future of Northern Cyprus in the energy sector constitutes the main motivation of this article. The application of the proposed methodology to Northern Cyprus is novel and has not been applied in any of its scientific areas before. This study proposes an integrated approach to identifying strategic energy alternatives with Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods based on Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT). The proposed model has a three-stage structure; in the first stage, SWOT analysis was used for the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of internal and external factors affecting the energy sector, along with TOWS analysis to determine alternative strategies. In the second stage, analytical network processing (ANP) was used to weight the SWOT factors, and in the third stage, fuzzy ideal solution similarity order performance (FTOPSIS) methods were used to rank alternative energy strategies. In the final results, alternative energy strategies proposed for the Northern Cyprus energy sector were ranked according to their priority values. While the most preferred energy strategy by the decision-makers was establishing an interconnected connection to the mainland, the least preferred strategy was determined as laying a natural gas pipeline to the mainland. Both options point to the strategic and geopolitical critical importance of Northern Cyprus’ location in the Eastern Mediterranean in energy transmission. On the other hand, it is gratifying that the strategy based on primary energy takes the bottom rank.

Cyprus is a small island in the Eastern Mediterranean and has potentially rich natural gas reserves around it (Tsangas et al., 2019). Northern Cyprus marks the northern part of the island, which is divided into two by the United Nations Green Line. The administration in the south and north is independent of each other, causing different approaches to be taken in the energy field. However, an integrated energy strategy to be determined and implemented in the future would is expected to be beneficial to both parts. It can make a solid contribution to the welfare and economic growth of the island. Primary fuel is an energy generation alternative that is extremely harmful to the environment (Abbasi et al., 2022). Despite this, the energy system in Northern Cyprus is based on imported primary fuel-based electricity generation, with a minimal contribution from renewable energy sources (KIB-TEK, 2018). As a renewable energy source, only solar power is used. The technology of the installed power grid is old, polluting, and very costly (Akçaba and Eminer, 2022). In addition, the existing installed power does not meet the energy demand of the consumer. Inadequate energy management causes frequent interruptions in the country’s energy supply (Shkurko, 2022).

And long list of information

#

Let us now delve into the issues of Turkey and Cyprus

#

Hydrocarbon exploration by neighboring countries in the Mediterranean has led to increased tensions in recent years.

Oil and gas research in the Eastern Mediterranean, particularly around the island of Cyprus and in certain other locations, is of huge importance for these neighboring countries in terms of energy security.

On the other hand, Turkey's recent oil and gas research activities in the Eastern Mediterranean have put the region’s energy equilibrium on the agenda of actors actively operating there.

In this context, top global energy companies arrived in the region and began competing with one another to obtain their share of energy research and transfer projects, which are expected to be worth billions of dollars.

The energy equilibrium in the Eastern Mediterranean presents various problems but also opportunities for cooperation among the parties involved.

The following compilation by Anadolu Agency provides answers to the top 10 questions regarding this energy equilibrium:

#

1- Which countries are currently active and want to benefit from the energy sources of the region?
Geographically, the region is neighbored by Turkey, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Egypt, Greece, Lebanon, Syria, Libya, Israel and southern Cyprus. All of these parties are pursuing active policies in the energy-rich region.
Despite not bordering the region, the U.S., Russia, the U.K., France and Italy also seek to maintain their influence in the region.

#

2- What is the estimated size of hydrocarbon reserves in the region?
According to data provided by the U.S. Geological Survey, the Levant region of the Eastern Mediterranean -- which includes Syrian coasts -- holds a reserve of 1.7 billion barrels of oil and 3.5 trillion cubic meters of natural gas.

#

3- Which energy companies currently operate in the Eastern Mediterranean?
Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), U.S.-based ExxonMobil and Noble Energy, France's Total, Italy's Eni energy company, South Korea’s Kogas, Qatar Petroleum, British Gas (BG) of the U.K. and Israel's Delek Drilling and Avner Oil are currently the main actors operating in the region.

#

4- How many parcels do natural gas and oil research regions include?
The region is composed of 13 so-called research parcels which were unilaterally announced by southern Cyprus.
Parcels 14- How many parcels do natural gas and oil research regions include?
The reg, 2 and 3 are located in the north; parcels 4,5,6,7,8,9 and 13 are in the middle whereas parcels 10, 11 and 12 are located in the south.

#

5- On which parcels do parties conflict on the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) in the Eastern Mediterranean?
The only regions where Turkey and TRNC's right claims do not collide with the so-called EEZ unilaterally declared by southern Cyprus are the 10th and 11th. There are still hot debates regarding all of the other parcels.

#

6- Which companies operate in the 13 parcels?
Italy's Eni and South Korea's Kogas have a joint license to operate in the 2nd, 3rd and 9th parcels; Eni holds 80% of the partnership whereas Kogas holds 20%.
Eni and Total have equal shares in 6th and 11th parcels. Eni is the only one with a license in the 8th parcel.
As for the 12th parcel, Israel's Delek Drilling has a 30% share, whereas Noble Energy of the U.S. and BG of the U.K. hold 35% shares respectively.
In the 10th parcel, a partnership between ExxonMobil and Qatar Petroleum currently possesses their so-called licenses. Negotiations regarding the 1st, 4th, 5th, 7th and 13th parcels are ongoing.

#

7- What is Turkey's policy in the Eastern Mediterranean?
Turkey argues that Turkish Cypriots have equal rights with Greek Cypriots, so TRNC must benefit from the hydrocarbon resources in an equal manner.
Ankara has emphasized that it does not recognize the EEZ areas unilaterally declared by southern Cyprus, where energy companies and the U.S., U.K., France and Italy operate.
The Turkish administration has underlined that it would not allow these parties to conduct research and production operations in the areas colliding with Turkey's sea realm of authority.
In addition, Turkey has repeatedly stressed that southern Cyprus is not a state representing the whole island, so it has no right to create EEZs or tender them for contracts.
As southern Cyprus could trigger an illegal situation in the island's northern, eastern and southern areas -- where parties do not conflict on operational zones -- TRNC gave license areas to Turkish Petroleum Corporation. As a result, it reacted to southern Cyprus' attempts to create EEZs by forming parcels despite not representing the whole Island.

#

8- Does Turkey conduct research operations in the region?
Turkey's drilling ship Fatih (Conqueror) actively carries out research and drilling activities in the A,B,C,D,E,F and G areas which were licensed by TRNC.
Above-mentioned areas are included in the EEZs declared by Turkish Cypriots. Furthermore, Turkey's second drilling vessel, Yavuz, is expected to be operational in the region as of July.

#

9- What is the policy southern Cyprus pursues in the region?
The competing energy companies and countries such as the U.S., France and Italy -- which directly or indirectly own these companies -- see southern Cyprus as if it had sovereignty over the whole island and claim their licenses are legitimate.
For energy research and extracting operations, southern Cyprus works together with external actors such as the U.S., Italy and France, whereas it collaborates with regional actors such as Israel, Egypt and Greece for energy transfer.

#

10- What is East-Med pipeline project? Can this project exclude Turkey from the energy equilibrium in the region?
The East-Med pipeline project aims to transfer Mediterranean gas to Europe through Israel, southern Cyprus and Greece.
In light of the geological fragility of the region and length of the pipeline, the projected pipeline is not viewed as feasible from technical and economic angles.
On top of this, this project -- which is also supported by the European Union -- goes through Turkey's territorial waters.
In order to be able to operate on a legal basis, the actors in the controversial region must act taking Turkey into account.

"Those who have no knowledge say, “If only Allah would speak to us or a sign would come to us!” The same was said by those who came before. Their hearts are all alike. Indeed, We have made the signs clear for people of sure faith." [Qur'an translation 2:118]

What is life?
"Know that this worldly life is no more than play, amusement, luxury, mutual boasting, and competition in wealth and children. This is like rain that causes plants to grow, to the delight of the planters. But later the plants dry up and you see them wither, then they are reduced to chaff. And in the Hereafter there will be either severe punishment or forgiveness and pleasure of Allah, whereas the life of this world is no more than the delusion of enjoyment." [Qur'an translation 57:20]

NOTE: Several verses detail life's diversions from worshipping Allah Almighty, but I focus on this one for brevity.

What about suffrage?
"We will certainly test you with a touch of fear and famine and loss of property, life, and crops. Give good news to those who patiently endure— * who say, when struck by a disaster, “Surely to Allah we belong and to Him we will ˹all˺ return.” * They are the ones who will receive Allah’s blessings and mercy. And it is they who are ˹rightly˺ guided."

Why are we in this life?
"Do people think once they say, “We believe,” that they will be left without being put to the test? * We certainly tested those before them. And ˹in this way˺ Allah will clearly distinguish between those who are truthful and those who are liars." [Qur'an translation 29:2-2]

"Allah would not leave the believers in the condition you were in, until He distinguished the good from the evil ˹among you˺. Nor would Allah ˹directly˺ reveal to you the unseen, but He chooses whoever He wills as a messenger...." [Qur'an translation 3:179]

What are we supposed to do in this life?
"I did not create jinn and humans except to worship Me." [Qur'an translation 51:56]

Hopefully it's clear now.

All these guys you mentioned contributed to the collapse of the USSR. They reinstated capitalism in the country, allowing the bourgeoisie to regain power and the working class to lose its rights. Moreover, they exploited China. China even calls this 'social-imperialism.' These are the same ones who are in favor of capitalism and were more aligned with the U.S. than with socialist countries. Therefore, it's obvious that they would invent that Stalin killed millions because Stalin had a different political stance than theirs.

"capitalism is more humane" 💀

Capitalism is a system in which the worker has to work for the bourgeoisie without complaining or questioning anything, and furthermore, workers earn almost nothing from the work they do in a capitalist system. The bourgeoisie in this system literally profit from your labor, they get richer, and you get poorer, and no, you can't complain about this system. And yes, Socialism works, just look at China. 'But, China is capitalist,' no, China is not capitalist because the socialist part of China has no bourgeoisie, and the working class owns the means of production. In other words, China is socialist (only Hong Kong and Macau are capitalist).

Prioritise the main ones you have written in that to do list according to that degree of their importance. (Like eat the big frog first, i.e do the hardest and most important one first.)

Don't usually multitask. (Esp for the tasks where more concentration is required.)

Try as much as possible to cut off distractions while you're working/studying.

Don't do everything in one stretch as after a while you might be exhausted and can't progress further, so take breaks in between to maintain the pace and energy.

Being lazy is a choice of your brain, that prefers to avoid working hard. The question I asked has nothing to do with being lazy, moreover, it is quite the opposite: i have a goal, i have enough energy to reach it, i have got some motivation. But the important thing to notice is that motivation is tem porary, and you need to put discipline first. For that reason i asked for some tips to get more disciplined, in other words, to organize my time and get the best of my work, not just sit there dont knowing what to do and when to do. Now i have some knowledge about it as people helped me and aswered my actual question, and did not try to unmotivate me with telling some strange stuff like “laziness is your choice”. As opencat has mentioned, laziness is human instiction, in my words it is like an illness, that you need to cure, but you to know what remedy to use first

Hello guys I am very serious

clear shard
terse compass
# stark arch Give me some advice in time management

Certainly, I would be pleased to offer guidance on time management. Effective time management is essential for maximizing productivity and achieving your goals. Here are some formal recommendations:

  1. Set Clear Goals:
Clearly define your short-term and long-term goals. This provides a framework for prioritizing tasks and allocating time appropriately.

  2. Prioritize Tasks:
Categorize your tasks based on urgency and importance. The Eisenhower Matrix, for instance, classifies tasks into four quadrants, helping you focus on what truly matters.

  3. Create a Schedule:
Develop a daily or weekly schedule outlining specific time slots for different activities. Be realistic about the time required for each task.

  4. Avoid Multitasking:
Concentrate on one task at a time to enhance focus and efficiency. Multitasking can lead to errors and hinder overall productivity.

  5. Learn to Delegate:
Recognize tasks that can be delegated to others. Delegating responsibilities allows you to focus on tasks that require your expertise and attention.

  6. Utilize Technology:
Leverage productivity tools and apps to organize tasks, set reminders, and manage your schedule. Calendar apps and task management tools can be particularly helpful.

#
  1. Break Tasks into Smaller Steps:
Large tasks can be overwhelming. Break them down into smaller, more manageable steps, making it easier to track progress and maintain motivation.

  2. Allocate Buffer Time:
Plan for unforeseen circumstances by including buffer time in your schedule. This helps accommodate unexpected delays without disrupting your entire plan.

  3. Review and Reflect:
Regularly review your schedule and assess your productivity. Identify areas where improvements can be made and adjust your approach accordingly.

  4. Practice Self-Care:
Ensure you allocate time for adequate rest, recreation, and self-care. A well-rested mind is more effective and efficient.

  5. Continuous Improvement:
Be open to refining your time management strategies. Learn from your experiences, and adjust your approach based on what works best for you.

Remember, effective time management is a skill that develops over time with consistent practice and self-awareness. Implementing these strategies can contribute significantly to your overall productivity and well-being.

It says a lot when Finland, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania and Bulgaria don't like Russia

manic juniper
#

Hating Russia isn't anything new, do you think they turned out like this all of sudden? They always acted like that

manic juniper
#

The USSR caused the biggest refugee crisis in my country

twilit current

They displaced around 10% of the population

twilit current
#

so you live close to them

manic juniper
#

Unfortunately, we border them

twilit current
#

but I cant understand that some of you guys keep that socialist-communits way so much

manic juniper
#

We are capitalists, Russia is too

twilit current
manic juniper
#

We are less like that because Nordic social democracy is less privatised than the usual neoliberal capitalism

twilit current
#

Russia is just on paper "Something different that communist"

Socialism is a system designed to meet the needs of the working class, but every time socialism has been implemented in socialist countries, the U.S has always tried to intervene with sanctions and embargoes. Cuba is in a hard situation due to the American embargo.

twilit current
#

You guys just sit here pouring shit on western world (mostly USA) just becayse you dont like it

manic juniper
#

Our country became socialist independently from the USSR, because plenty of our workers wanted a socialist economy

Also because many refugee crises in Europe were instigated by USA, Russia or even ourselves cooperating with USA or NATO

twilit current
manic juniper
#

So I'd rather not have USA around, they are foreign influence that doesn't belong to our continent

The only country I really care about is Estonia because it's cute and polite

manic juniper
#

No, they are cuter and less polite

twilit current
#

alr

manic juniper

They also speak a language similar to ours 😩

U.S have several military bases around the world, does it seem democracy?

thorny steeple
twilit current
manic juniper
#

I think if Russia hadn't started a war in Ukraine they would've been dismantled all around Europe too

twilit current
#

I see you guys here are big brains

manic juniper
#

I can't see them dismantling the bases in Asia

onyx hazel
twilit current
manic juniper
#

Many countries that hold US bases are militarily weak like Philippines

twilit current
#

but its kinda funny for me how all these people are "against it" but they are using a lot of American things 🤣

manic juniper
twilit current

am not that into history

onyx hazel

Uhm I don't know what I'm using that is American, I own a Japanese car, a Finnish jet ski and snowbike, a Japanese console, a Korean TV, my home is entirely of Finnish and Swedish manufacturing

My clothes are also Finnish, or from other parts of Europe, my phone is Chinese

USA and China have huge industries, it's normal that you're going to own some stuff produced in either of those countries

USA would be better if it had more regulations like the EU, its citizens would be happier

But I never understood what drive people to hate US 🤔

you can also make big money but you have to watch out on these guys

#

like

#

am not into communist/socialist stuff because my parents came from post communist country

#

but my grandparens mostly experienced that

#

so I know how it is

manic juniper
#

My country was socialist for a short time, plenty of people used to be, it wasn't that bad if you don't count the civil war, but that happened because our country was very new

manic juniper
#

Which country was it?

twilit current
manic juniper
#

Oh that one wasn't quite good, it was forced to be

manic juniper
#

Piłsudski was interested in socialism but he didn't have the chance to apply it, it was unfortunately forced on Poland much later

manic juniper
thorny steeple

@onyx hazel where are you from

Piłsudski wasn't a perfect leader but he was better to minorities compared to the USSR, and he was more or less appreciated by Poles

What I like about Piłsudski is that he wanted to create a front to protect Eastern Europe from the western and eastern threats
