and as it does so it relaxes the Diaphragm and the external intercoastal muscles which ends up in decreasing the volume and increasing the pressure
in our thoracic cavity
for passive expiration
The former is located in the ventral medulla and mainly controls respiratory responses when the body is at rest.
Hello everyone
like are the stimulations different when our haemoglobin ends up binding with molecule other than Oxygen, for instance say CO due to high affinity? how differently is it processed by our neural system?
are you in uni by the way?
These are sensitive to CO2-induced changes in the hydrogen ion concentration in the brain interstitial fluid.
Hello
Nope, I'm a junior in high school. 16 years old.
Are u a doctor
In fact, sensitive to changes induced by any gas other than oxygen.
Let's take CO2 as our example.
yep we have other receptors for it too
High affinity means high activity of the centres.
I am learning English new i didn't understand the difference have been between had been
Hydrogen ions cannot cross the blood-brain barrier but CO2 can. This CO2 enters the CSF and reacts with H2O to form carbonic acid, H2CO3. It is broken down into more hydrogen and bicarbonate ions. So, an increased CO2 concentration in the CSF means an increased rate of hydrogen ion production.
and then our regular mechanism of the exchange of gases is not carried out this devoiding our organs of Oxygen
What do you mean by "devoiding"?
Thanks for biology lesson
yoo and what complication does it lead to. it intrigues me
The CSF has small amounts of buffers; the excess of hydrogen ions (or low pH) in the CSF stimulates the central chemoreceptors. As a result, the respiratory rate and tidal volume increases to decrease the acidity.
This is awesome stuff but sadly its easily forgotten when u go deeper and specialize in a field as these are considered basics then
The remaining CO2 is exhaled into the atmosphere. The arterial partial pressure of CO2 and the hydrogen ion concentration in the CSF return to normal to maintain homeostasis.
I take interest and have equal knowledge in mostly the subjects of literature, philosophy, linguistics, mythology, logic, geography, geology, history, biology, medicine, palaeontology and formal languages, etc. you know what I am saying. Everything save mathematics, the subject I despise most, unless it is applied in any of the said subjects.
as CO binds with the Hb instead of O2, now the blood flows with a less oxygen concentration, thus it wold not be able to supply the expected Oxygen to our organs thus they become devoid of O2 and end up losing functioning
In contrast, if the CO2 and hydrogen ion concentration is low, the respiratory rate decreases.
"To devoid" isn't a thing
Agreed
so as the already present oxygen in our lungs is used up, and now there is no more supply of it, what is it called other than 'to devoid'
The latter is located in the aortic arch and in the bifurcation of the carotid arteries in the neck.
"Devoid" can't be used as a verb
hello guys
I see, personally we dont deal with these physiology anymore as its considered as basics and we are espected to have substantial info about it, problem is, as we study about actions of drugs on a new system, we as students have to review the anatomy again, so we usually dont focus on these anymore
the pre botzinger and the botzinger complices?
Peripheral chemoreceptors
making our organs devoid of the Oxygen&* My bad I did not notice
These chemoreceptors sense changes in the in the CO2 partial pressure and hydrogen ion concentration in the arterial blood.
i try to learn english from the native speakers
thats the basics you learn in high school
If the said parameters increase in degree, the receptors sense hypoxia in the arterial blood. The glossopharyngeal nerve carries the impulse from the carotid bodies, while the vagus nerve does so from the aortic bodies. The neurons in the medullary respiratory centres send signals through the motor neurons to the respiratory muscles. These signals help restore the said parameters to a normal level, by increasing the blood pH and increasing the rate of CO2 expiration.
(Leaving for now, goodbye)
Have a good one
True, its been almost 4-5 years so, i can only recall the key points now
Yes thats Right!

Donāt know if I should use this chat to start this type of conversation here but let me see.
Have anyone ever had a problem with parent commenting your appearance because of the way you were?
Because itās been happening to me recently and I donāt really know how to deal with it. At first I tried to ignore them but now ever time one of my parents says something about my appearance I get stormy motions and i am so close to them taking control over me.
In what ways you mean?
Because Iām thought to be too skinny when my weight is completely normal for my age and height
Hi, guys, did anyone see frog1 today?
Why is that such a big deal for them?

Hello
I mean I need to keep up my strict diet because I work for a modelling agency. Nevertheless they be commenting my collarbone or my shoulder bones which are visible. One of my parents is not the best example of how people should eat because she/he is overweight.
They be talking about skipping meals and stuff, what am I supposed to do? Eat whenever I am hungry or eat because schedule says I should. Also when I wear black clothes which have this slimming effect on our bodies they are going nuts telling me that I should go see psychiatrist or go straight to mental health hospital. Iām trying to get out of my ED, thatās true but never have I ever had problems with health because of them. They came back after 3 weeks of being away home and something magically happened. It has never happened before, thatās why Iām asking how to deal with this if anyone has any ideas.
If anyone wants to learning english with me, they can add me (B1+ english speaker and native Turkish)
anyone have interesting presention topics??
Bro, let's talk about How to be millionair
Simple, just say "i identify as a millionair"
And go to the bank
Withdraw 1m
Do you think they're just worried or really wanting to upset you? I mean it because when I was deleting weight from my body, my mom got crazy on me due to my marathons of fasting, lol! But in my case, I saw she was just worried... If it's the case, I guess there's nothing much to do, just show them you're on control and they don't need to worry. I guess fight can make things worse. š¦
Why should they be worried about something that is completely normal tho.. I canāt lose any more weight due to my health and I am maintaining it on the same level for a month. Donāt know why they are going nuts.
Bro, we are in the serious chat š
Parents are like this. 𤣠At least they care about you, if they were indifferent, then it would be worse, don't?!
Of course only you knows if they're doing this for care or to bother you. But if it's care, just nvm and keep being a model. š„°āØ
I wish I could eat more sometimes but this thoughts of old me eating as much as possible gets me over this idea faster than you think. They are like you wonāt grow or whatever⦠guys I donāt want to worry you but due to my healthy diet and exercising and generally moving so much I grew more than ever before
Don't worry, it's ok! I guess you can please yourself sometimes and eat without guilty, then you get back to diet normally. It will not ruin anything. Your old self will never get back don't worry, it's normal to feel like this.

hello
@lavish finch
can u give me a complicated sentence that your confident that no one will understand
Would you like to present your opinions on the supposed disappearance of the Hispanic 9th Legion of the Roman Empire in Britain, just after the Boudican revolt? After your discussion with @thorny steeple .
Nope, he's too much set on discussing with you.
(Reading)
I guess to use the word nothing is inappropriate, but I got your point and somehow I agree with this.
I mean everything has different points of views and perspectives. The only immutable things on Universe are the Universal laws.
I guess everything is susceptible to mistakes
The whole nature of science and the scientific method is that it is subject to change if the evidence changes or new evidence comes out.
Perfectly pointed!
hi
You changed your pfp.
isn't that a general knowledge or...
I think it's easy to assume everyone has the same knowledge as yourself. But you know what they say of assumptions.
The definition of the apple depends on what you take it for.
no, what im saying is that even though how stupid a person is, they still know what you said earlier
Everything is approximated.
Are you questioning objective reality?
You cannot measure the volume of the apple.
can someone explain how time travel works
Are you concerned about it being real?
Integration se krlenge.
yes you can
Of course, that's what the scientific method is for
It doesn't work.
It's impossible to go to the past.
But you can predict the future.
Subjective in relation to what?
i never implied time travel to the past
but what if it was possible
Our thoughts are the beginning of the manifestation. Everything that exists in reality comes up in the mind first. The mind can be a tool to connect with the metaphysical world. So...
I guess subject to changes of time, the 4th dimension.
what would happen and how wouldnit work
It's the only truth we have my guy.
Are you implying you want to see the future or the past as a 3rd person?
Time doesn't change the fact that an apple is an apple
No
But it can change human perception and the foundations of science.
im just asking what would haopen and how it works
I guess it would be a complete mess! Who would like to live again everything at the same?! Or cause a complete transformation in everything? Have you ever watched Butterfly Effect?! You can potentially love it!!
It doesn't happen and it won't work. We can speculate, look up Grandpa paradox.
Your perception of the truth, or reality, doesn't change the truth, or the reality. The only thing that changes is your point of view
You are experienced in chaos theory?
well what if it does, dyk how w what if works
i think it won't be a mess
That's why I said "perception".
Science as we know it, is based on perception.
That's why I told you to look up Grandpa paradox, it explains everything about what if it works.
Indeed!
Kind of.
i already explained what it is
granda paradox is easy to explain if you go further through the paradox
And?
Of course it would! All our actions has impact in the Universe! So... Everything would need to be reorganized all the time to fit into the new creation. Imagine it happening all the time?! A mess in multiverse or travels to different realities all the time by literally everyone due to the constant travels and transformations.
nothing to say?
not really
Science is based on observations, usually using instruments or objective measurements. You can percieve scientific results differently based on your own thoughts and preferences, but it doesn't change the results of the observations.
it doesn't really creates a mess in the universe
Results are approximated based on perception, yes. We never can have access to the true results.
I don't know, but I believe so.
Not really, I have limited knowledge. That red box is where I am.
According to the 2nd Law Of Thermodynamics, no process can decrease the entropy of the universe.
I think people here are overly philosophising regarding objective reality and truth. That's beyond my interest so I'll bow out of that convo here. Ty!
Exactly.
True.
I believe that the process of Manifestation is to use the chaos as a primary source to put order and create your own reality. The entropy is inevitable. And our minds are here to make this work.
How do you think I reached there š
That's psychology.
True.
y'all are kinda cringe not gonna lie
For me, it's the same thing.
Almost as cringe as you.
like why would anyone put a dot with only two words, learn english before science
nice name u got there š
Speaking of nothing, some shameless advertising. I got approved to teach on this Discord yesterday. I'll be putting up my first class on monday or tuesday. It will be on cognition, memory and effective study methods. Keep an eye on the class-announcement-channel if you're interested.
@grand parrot @thorny steeple I'm upto hypothesising the effects and possibilities of time travel but I just don't want to speculate and make fairytales out of my mind unlike some people here.
lmao
u won't but u can though
In English, the full stop defines the end of a sentence, or any meaningful combination of words. Study semantics, my guy.
Ohhh now I got your point. Uncertainty is part of life.
how is two words concluded as a sentence, the only 2 words that is concluded as a sentence is " I am "
*are
"study semantics, my guy " š¤
Meaningful words.
It's good and it's not, at the same time.
What have you got to say?
pov you have nothing to say so u correct the person
it's your thoughts so why ask meš¤·
From a mundane point of view, if you do so, you'll have a hard time making money, marrying, and ultimately living.
Always.
Exactly. Learn English.
I asked about your thoughts on time travel not your thoughts on my thoughts.
"error 404"
okay and i told u that u can make something in your thoughts so why ask me
Surreal, really.
Could you please reiterate what you're getting at right now? @thorny steeple
And change that to "undefined".
Yes because I'm almost giving up the chat, lol!
Overly philosophising, as Mr. Aleks had said, is disastrous.

Never give up.
The subject was good.
Time travels and reality/truth.
Never gonna give you up,
Never gonna let you down.
I appreciate the unexpected humor! š„°
You do so whenever you come here, overly philosophising.
Well Suffi the thing is: sometimes we will be sure about certain things, sometimes not. And we need to be fine with uncertainty.
I find it overwhelmingly stupid to discuss this subject with underqualified people. People here are referring to as he epistemological uncertainty and or limited perception of reality, and arguing about it defies it's own nature.
Sometimes we need to trust.
It may help you to relax, but overly philosophising leads some people into existential crises here, I suppose.
Sometimes give the benefit of doubt.
You may like to change "underqualified" to "ambiguous".
Everyone gives what they have. Let's invest in those who understands us! š¤£
Hmm maybe.
Aristotle and his teacher Plato used to converse on "epistemological uncertainty" and the humanely "limited perception of reality".
These are facts.
We have numerous proofs.
I believe that take something complicated and turn it into something simple to understand is a badass quality. Underrated but very very admirable.
We haven't reached the true essence of science due to the lack of appropriate and objective instruments to access it.
Nothing comes out of nothing.
Life is subjective, and so are its instruments.
What do you guys are meaning by telling that life is subjective?
Let's bring a good topic here.
That it's ever changing.
Have you read Aristotle's theory on sexual reproduction in humans? It's funny af.
Homunculi
???
Well, change is the only constant, right. Haha!
Do you know the basic requirement that has to be fulfilled to be classified as living?
@thorny steeple
Depends. Generally accepted conditions are "should be conscious of changes in the environment" and "should be composed of cells". Mundane POV
That's interesting!
Humans evolve, and so do their instruments.
And there are different levels of consciousness.
"If we compare a mathematical problem with an immense rock, whose interior we wish to penetrate, then the work of the Greek mathematicians appears to us like that of a robust stonecutter, who, with indefatigable perseverance, attempts to demolish the rock gradually from the outside by means of hammer and chisel; but the modern mathematician resembles an expert miner, who first constructs a few passages through the rock and then explodes it with a single blast, bringing to light its inner treasures."
That a living being should not be able to stop changes, but it should know when the changes may occur.
And... I think everyone's gone.
I am here, sorry! I got distracted.
I believe we can feel it.
That's why we're living.
Yes. What are your thoughts in this fact of being able to know when changes will occur?
And, I would like to know, my dear @thorny steeple, why you avoid my propositions so much.
Yours first
I believe some things are obvious and others, the unexpected ones, we can feel it somehow underlying our energies, let's put things this way. The second ones are those who I am more curious about!
We really could use worldly topics to discuss, other than just overt philosophy, philosophy, and philosophy.
Yes.
I don't know if the expression I used is appropriated but it was the best I could think of, haha!
The former appeals directly to our perceptive senses, and the latter brings about a change in our entropies.
Thanks!
Tell me more about "change in our entropies".
I see it as a change in the outer reality.
My interpretation, I mean.
The change in our internal energies, brought about by metabolism.
Such changes are conveyed to our senses.
So you may classify the former as "direct consciousness" and the latter as "indirect consciousness."
Metabolism produces energy.
But energy goes beyond one's metabolism.
It's not this kind of energy I referred.
I'm talking about internal energies, but sure.
*referred to
I understood.
I liked this perspective.
You are also including the ways following which we modify our surroundings.
And feel modified by them.
I have already included them.
For example that little girl Angelline who can't sleep because unconsciously (now conscious) she knows that a huge change is coming to her reality. She just don't know what it is yet, but she reads her energies and it's suspicious about it could be. š¤£
In sensu amplo and from a biological POV, such influences an organism may have on its surroundings may be classified under its "extended phenotype".
I think I understand what you're insinuating at.
*doesn't know
The phenotype of an organism is extended to whatever (at least perceptible) effects its genes may have on its surroundings.
For example, you know a human settlement when you see one, and understand that it's been built only by humans, and not any other kind of organism.

If money and practicality werenāt a problem, what would be the most interesting way to get around town?
Electric conveyances. I don't care about interest, just the environment. Do you understand, my dear robotic friend?

Mmmm..... WUT?
Who am I talking to, anyways? An unresponsive substance, perhaps. I'll just leave to stop looking like a madman.
Sure, let's try. How about;
"Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo."
But I understand that sentence, for I've read Borgmann's book.
Here's a similar one: "Police police police police (can be similarly extended).
Buffaloes (or buffalo) from Buffalo, NY, bully (or buffalo) other buffaloes also from Buffalo, NY, which, in turn, ALSO bully other buffaloes from Buffalo, NY.
"That" is omitted in the sentence (not colloquially) incorrect which ought to be inserted at the beginning of the last clause.
Ok, letās try another;
āColorless green ideas sleep furiously.ā
Know that. Chomsky, I suppose.
Let me check.
Yes.
Grammatically correct, but overly ambiguous in meaning.
Good choice.
Itās more accurate to say that it is nonsense than ambiguous.
Maybe
Not from a poet's POV
But then, everyone isn't a poet.
The first two adjectives form an oxymoron, yes.
Ambi means two. What are the two meanings? You wonāt find them because they donāt exist.
Ambiguous can also mean equivocal, "open to more than one interpretation".
The essence doesn't always correspond to the etymology.
But surely, you must have an interpretation of your own?
Then you have moved the goal posts. The request was for a complex sentence that cannot be understood. Not for one that can be interpreted. Anything can be interpreted. I suggest there is an important distinction between understanding and interpretation.
I suppose so, yes.
I'm prone to digression, I agree.
The point is, it's possible to have grammatical complexity, i.e. syntax, without semantic meaning.
Yes.
Speaking of poetry, here's another;
"Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe."
I was just asking, otherwise, I wouldn't have commented: "good choice."
Lewis Carroll is a man of fantasy.
Still is, because fantasy is evermore in Man.
But some words have directly been borrowed from Saxon, like "brillig"
This is very fine, if I may say so.
The first 3 lines follow iambic tetrameter perfectly, and I suppose the last has been written in trochaic trimeter.
Let's try one more;
Looks like a CAPTCHA
Some ancient script, I suppose
I'll confess I can't understand it.
It's an example of an ancient writing system that has not been deciphered by anyone yet.
Are you implying that reading about it is the same as understanding the sentence?
Nope, just read about the facts about the scripts.
I think I'm developing an intense urge to compare it to.... Proto-Phoenician or something like that. A very ancient Canaanite language. But that won't happen.
Are you implying that there is no such thing as a complex sentence which cannot be understood?
I'm not implying anything. I agree that such scripts haven't been deciphered and understood yet. Who knows, maybe they will someday. I say that a sentence written in a familiar script is open to numerous interpretations, whether favourable or not to the author.
You're not implying anything. Perhaps in lieu of understanding the sentence you want to remind us that you know something.
I don't know how to understand unfamiliar scripts without learning them, but know to interpret and/or understand familiar ones.
Reminds me of the story of the man one dark night looking around on the floor under the light of a street lamp. When asked if he was looking for his keys, replied "No. I didn't lose my keys over here. I lost them somewhere over there." "Then why are you looking over here?" "Because there's no light over there."
No similarity whatsoever
And yet according to you, we can have interpretations that count as meaningful understanding.
You analyze the iambic tetrameter of the line, as if that's the meaning.
What? No
Just statements
Oh, you're just making statements that have no connection to the points I'm making.
Yes. I told you, I'm prone to digression sometimes.
Please correct me if you'd like to.
Scientific understanding is objective, but humans haven't reached that. We subjective humans have been approximating every observation so that they conform to our senses. Our instruments to assess those observations are subjective themselves, as we've created them. The complete truth hasn't been touched yet (but we know that there's something like this, because we sometimes fail to make the ends of our assessments meet with what we see; we then strive to modify those assessments). In this way, human observation is subjective, if you ask me. On the other hand, such subjective observation is a kind of interpretation (which is always relative and/or subjective) and vice versa (but not if you take objective observation into consideration).
But yes, said instruments are improving in accuracy.
Metaphorically:
"If we compare a mathematical problem with an immense rock, whose interior we wish to penetrate, then the work of the Greek mathematicians appears to us like that of a robust stonecutter, who, with indefatigable perseverance, attempts to demolish the rock gradually from the outside by means of hammer and chisel; but the modern mathematician resembles an expert miner, who first constructs a few passages through the rock and then explodes it with a single blast, bringing to light its inner treasures."
Are you interested in getting responses that are connected to the points you're making?
Everyone is, but I expect little, occasional digressions also.
Hi everyone
I'm not fine really
I've a fever, so I'm going to rest for some time now
Bye everyone, leave your comments on mine if you like
(Leaving)
Bye Nocturnal. Get some rest and hope you feel better.
Hi Klaus
Are you still here?
Is anyone here?
No?
In that case, I'll build our space.
Let's put it on the sea.
On the edge of a cliff.
Grassy green bluffs overlooking a deep blue sea.
A large old tree rooted into the ground at the edge.
And an outdoor stone amphitheater
expanding in larger and larger semi circles of stone benches
with walls on either side
And arched entranceways
connected by a dirt path through the grassy ground
I'll sit there on one of the stone benches.
I hope you are well Nocturnal.See you later.Bye.
Hi Klaus. Who are you talking to? Nocturnal? He left about 15 min ago. Not feeling well.
Welcome to Poseidon's Echo.
Also known as Serious Chat.
I'm just rearranging the scenery.
Are you still there?
Sorry for asking that question again and again.
I'm blind, you see.
I don't hear you anymore, so I guess you've gone.
I can hear the sound of the ocean surf below.
Rising and falling on rocks
hello sir
Hello
it was an interesting conversation between you and nocturnal
You're interested in language and understanding?
sure, but my level is not enough to speak at the pace you were and I also lack grammar.
but i like this magnificent language and am trying to improve
What is your native language?
russian
Š ŃŃŃŠŗŠøŠ¹
russian is a beautiful language as well, but unfortunately over the last 2 years the perspective of spreading it is distressing
великолепно
about 11 months
currently i'm about C1, but i want to improve myself. i'm choosing keywords(the last words i learnt) and trying to write a message(usually messages like "good morning" or "good night") using these keywords. then i'm asking chatgpt to write the same sentence using the same keywords, and compare my message to its.
How do you think it is a good method to get better ? or i should try something else
something like that
well my friend was learning as well, and i had a rival. as we know competing is one of the best methods to learn anything
13 minutes
so what do you think about that method ?
I don't think you need my advice on how to learn a language.
You seem to be doing quite alright.
thanks sir. i was a bit afraid that the things i'm learning are useless, but as i understood i have nothing to be worried about.
What gave you the idea it was useless?
anxiety of losing time
Based on what evidence?
forsooth...
About Nocturnal..
the closest goal i have is to get C2, and i'm actively trying to accomplish that goal
i started because i needed it for programming but now i just like how it sounds and it's wide vocabulary
What do you mean, suffi? I don't think anyone said Russian is easy.
Iāve been learning English for almost all my life and Iām on B2+/C1. Congrats
!
but as long as russian is my native language i have no right to judge because... it think it wont be proper judgment
At your level, I think the best thing to do is to read.
I can agree as a person who knows Slavic language
Anyone learning japanese here?
I do
thank you for the advice, i'll do my best
oh great, I just started to learn japanese but the alphabets are so complicated to me. Do you have any suggestion to me ?
What resources do you use?
I lived in Japan for a long time.
To learn Japanese
wooow
I am using Genki 1, duolingo and an application called Learn Japanese
good for you man
i like it i'm arab
You can learn Japanese alphabet using Duolingo. Itās a good option tho I think learning so many letters at the same time may be problematic.
I have a friend,he speaks several languages, including arabic. In my case first English, after maybe German...
I am learning better from books sources. Are you using any book for learning? And Do you think Genki 1 is good?
yes arabic needs to lean letter by letter
English also difficult...
What's your native language, Klaus?
Spanish
It's nice that at least we all have our native languages for free.
Where are you from?
Hi
I have many Spanish speaking students.
Came to read messages
I was talking about Japanese
Im kurdish
Interesting to hear you speak different languages. Entertaining š
Itās up to you tbh, I donāt use many books to learn a language. For me mobile applications work better but you can do your research on the internet and check out whatās recommended for learning Japanese in this case.

Yeah
Thank you

Do you know what level of English you are?
In my case,I left to school very early and some years ago,I like to learn english...
Are you kurd?
Nice, wish you all the best.., i speak a different kurdish dialect, i would've loved helping if i could
Me? No, I'm from New York, in the United States. I'm American.
Sorani or bahdini?

My voice isn't serious enough for these shenanigans

Beeswax: a silly colloquialism for business
None of your business
None of your beeswax
Often used by children in the US
Possibly also in the UK
Thank you!
Because I currently have a fever.
If you can remind me, you may. I'll check it out later.
The channel is at its most serious when Mr. Green, you, I and Mr. Aleks are here.
But at its funniest and most enjoyable (to the layman, at least) when Angelline, Vivek, justanotherday, etc. are here. Do I always have to miss the best things? Including the voice messages? To blazes with the fever, I should have stayed up.
Get well soon!
@thorny steeple Hey, you can tell me what you wanted to, now.
But you're not here. By the way, have performed chi-square analyses in genetics?
I'm looking forward to sending some voice messages here soon. I know Spanish, some (French, German, Italian and Latin), inter alia (but can read those splendidly).
By the way,

Ohhh excuse my ignorance haha I never got into Bach
I'll check him out. Definitely need it right now, I'm so stressed about life
whyy wanna talk about it
It just sucks. I'm supposed to be making good money but I struggle to buy myself things. Like, I'm just making money to barely survive and I feel lonely and dissatisfied with everything and everyone, it sucks
I know it's just a bad streak but that's how it feels sometimes
wait wait it sounds familiar You didn't live in Turkey, did you? :D

Crude cretins, this is not the place for egregious English and equally bad, sexually annoying messages. Go away.
And especially you.
Because he can't effectively moderate the messages?
Exactly.
@static pivot you should reserve a place for these fools in the general chat.
I'm gonna sleep as well, goodbye.
Why do twitter idiots hate on mr beast for painting Russia along with crimea in his last video

is this not the channel for serious chat already
Ok
we discuss serious topics here
why is the slomo activated. we have not even started chatting yet
it usually takes minutes of active conversation to activate it
or am I wrong
Idk
5 seconds of slomo ruins my 5 years of hardwork, 150 WPM
Anyway
Good night, I am going to sleep
Slow mode is active for only 5 seconds.
if you are talking about serious and complex topics, you will have to spend those 5 seconds to write a sentence. am I wrong?
Fast paced banter is available in pretty much all other channels of the group.
Please don't insult our guests.
As an alternative, you might explore your irritation with me as a moderator of the channel allowing the serious chat to be less serious than you want it to be.
Welcome back, suffi.
Its all good.
hello there
i bid thee welcome
I invite you to imagine that this space is outdoors
A fellow Eyedea-fan? Big ups!

I see, so you guys haven't feel like that, I understand it do be like that sometimes
Serious topics
we are talking about the when the when me when the
but guys here have not experience it with for me its quite disturbing
The what?
I'm having problem, i think discord is far worse dopamine source compared to the other platform. i should be on VC right now but instead I'm here wasting my time chatting on a meaningless meme channel
#šļ½general is the biggest distraction here
i gained nothing talking there for an hour. it's more like a trauma dump channel
yeah I know it's a waste of time honestly, you tell yourself, I will use discord just for learning, then you waste your time like is nothing lmao
@cursive estuary we need to refocus
our goal on joining discord. it's not to have fun but to learn
i like to have both but i need to focus on the learning part first
We are all in the same boat, but honestly?! I met a lot of fun and cool people here, so I guess for a person like me who's always working, reading and studying, it's a cool place to hang out when I can't go out with my friends in real life. š„°
And I'm also singing better due to Discord. š¤£
Gaining more confidence, even when I'm very bad at this.
you rejected my marital proposal tho
@thorny steeple glad you're having a positive results!

You have a lot of wifeys don't need another one.
Fr bro let's keep things study related only and stop procrastinating our future at the verge of failure
yeah bro don't let some girl named angelline distract us!
i found the true evil here. now i'm in peace
lmao
And I guess Discord is like: one time is good, other time is not, then it's good, then it's not.
Ok I'm leaving

I will leave too gotta study Š ŃŃŃŠŗŠøŠ¹ see you later, hope you guys can stay focused and disciplined
@thorny steeple Why does everyone want to marry you?
I have no idea but this happens in real life too. š
You must be lucky (according to popular opinion).
I think they're just kidding š
Hi
A bot wanted to marry her
The scene opens in a Bohemian ghetto. An amateurish teenager, newly introduced to society with a dollar in his pocket, a head full of dreams, and to the prospect of rearing himself alone, becomes jealous of the lavish life he sees a rich man lead. He says āsomehow, some way, it gotta get better than thisā. Suddenly he buys a gun, out of purely reckless bravado, kills the man by putting the gun against his head and pulling his trigger so as to declare him dead. Once the deed is done, however, he finds himself racked with confusion, paranoia, and disgust. He steals a car, tries to run but he doesnāt get far, as he finds his theoretical justifications lose all their power as he struggles with guilt and horror and is confronted with both internal and external consequences of his deed. He deems his soul spoilt, impoverished and useless. At last, in penitence, he resorts to his old and ignorant mother to beg forgiveness at least from her (whom he thought had been the incarnation of God Himself), saying āMama, just killed a manā¦ā whereupon his āmamaā cries, both in sorrow and joy (more in the former than the latter), joy that the crowd hadnāt gathered round the angry young man and he didn't have to keep his face down, with a gun in his hand, and die out of regret and pain in public. We shouldn't let such young hearts be so wildly free tonight (every night, in fact).
(Not ChatGPT, just felt like it)
Well done Noc! @ornate siren
What songs do you think I referred to?
Rod Stewart's "Young Turks", Elvis's "In The Ghetto", Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody"
Good! I'm always with the song @full river suggested me in mind: "I can't help falling in love with you", Elvis.
It's a cute song.
*Can't Help Falling In Love
I've sung that while playing the guitar many a time.
Record itttt!!! I want to hear! š
Looking forward to doing so.
This fever.
Yo, your genetics
By the way, someone told me yesterday, "you and suffi are like the guard dogs of the serious chat".
Please.
thank you
Quieter than usual
Quieter by far, actually
I've been here for 5 hours
Where is everyone? Where y'all gone?
Suffi's still working on that fantastical essay, angels are rushing in where fools love to tread.
@ornate siren all this meant is you need to touch some grass. it's harsh but it's the truth
i'm gonna leave this server for now, i can't focus. i kept getting baited into shitposting
No touching grass, I've been studying for 5 hours, I mean. With Discord open in the background.

actually same

Hello, So, I need some help regarding, starting to talk with girls, in my School I was forced to develop a mindset that I shouldn't talk to my opposite gender at any cost. But gender barrier shouldn't be there in communication, particularly for an engineer, so could anyone please anyone help me with it?
hi you can first go street and ask question for exampel address or like this then you try it evry day you can talk with grils
Do you want to talk to girls in a platonic fashion
Or to flirt?
Umm, actually I wanna talk to my own classmates.
But to flirt because you're attracted or just like you would to your male friends?
Platonic. I just wanna remove my gender gap.
That's a mindset
Don't see them as girls
Just think of them as human beings ..
Like you
But 10 years of schooling, it was like I got brainwashed. It's easier to think , but hard to do.
I tried talking but they're like, I was too weird.
Just practice
They won't bite
You are
But so are they
All kids are weird and insecure and they get mean to cover up that insecurity.
Is there any easier way to start?
Just keep it simple...
Like..
"Sup. š Hey, did you write down that homework assignment in Mr so n So's class? Mind if I get that from you?
Like that
Then the next time...
Say hey.
How's it?
Just keep it simple
Actually for 4 years, I didn't even talk to anyone. It took 1 year for me to talk with guys normally.
Don't be too wordy
So see
You'll get there with the girls
Just don't look at them like girls
And be... Elusive
Like
Mysterious
But in a nonchalant way
But I made my own notes and assignments. Ig "Do you watch anime?" is a better start?
Now
I gotta go
I have a hawt date
Oh, sure! Thank you.
usually girls are reading books so you can ask them about that
I read books too, books like what? (Mostly?)
uh depends. the best variation is classic, but some people enjoy detective stories or fantasy.
hello i guys š«”
i have just finished an english level test
during the interview while im doing so well and im so happy that im fluent and calm suddenly i spoke a couple of arabic words
i can tell u it was totally a Slurred speech . the teacher looked at me then at the end gave me b1 intermediate š„²
i think that i need to be more fluent i need more practice
@novel bronze yeaah same problem here , I need to practise my speaking skills cuz i'm arab too hhh
i cant tell u the way he looked at me he was surprised
i would be surprised too, if someone told me few arabic words
that sucks man, I've got kinda the same problem, it's difficult to get fluent when you don't have much opportunities to speak
Yeah with practice nchallah next time u'll do well don't worry
Yeaah that's the actual problem
Personally I'm really good at writing and I have a large vocab but when it comes to speaking I usually mess up cuz I didn't have much opportunities to talk or to speak a different language from mine which is arabic
Hol' up... what?
Hello, Mr. @lavish finch, what do you think of this sentence: "Life is too serious to be taken seriously." (just asking)?
you're not talking to me but that doesn't make sense
just had my very first conversation irl with a guy in 5 years. This was something I really needed to hear š
Congrats
šš»
tbh it wasn't just one guy, we were a group. It was alright but I still didn't feel like I was contributing enough to the conversation due to awkwardness
hope that washes away over time
thats cool)
It's okay you're trying and that's all you need atm
That's exactly how I hopped into a group chat, only I let the guy ask me that š
I feel really nervous and low on confidence. I have developed a mindset that 'they will ignore me, if i said something' and that actually sometimes ends up true. because i lack the charisma with which I approach the guys
You got to have confidence in yourself as well as your abilities in order to approach an opposite gender especially
I can relate to that I'm a big introvert but my spontaneous self beats me to it so yeah
yes balance is important. make your points and let the other person make theirs as well. but how you execute is where all the catch is
it comes from practice
I'm not that good when it comes to the opposite gender but I'm okay with the Bois
but what if you end up falling for the person š„²
Imo interaction with the opposite gender boosts your confidence as well as charisma
it puts you in a new light. Almost everyone is as uncomfortable as you but if you are able to do what 90% can't do,
Well sometimes it gives me the opposite
that's when you are not used to it lol
Aight, sure.
Oh, okay. It depends on them too, ig.
I have the same story, coincidentally
Yea covid made it even harder for me to gain confidence while talking to the opposite gender
Oh, are you currently fine with them right now?
I still feel bouts of guilt even on my slightest of intereactions with guys
Hello
Mine was extreme tho, like they don't even allow us to talk with kids.
.....
I feel anxious when I'm with kids too.
I don't play with them, nor tell their parents that they were cute.
now that's complicated
Yes, but I can't interact with them.
children are the most selfless creatures and most ignorant. They don't judge you rather they take everything in a positive light and also remember it for long
The environment you live in can make things difficult
Honestly, I don't find them cute. I believe they have great imagination, but still it feels uncomfortable while interacting with them.
true it takes time to adapt to things
Yes, I know they are innocent.
It's like they're weird. I didn't see them for 8 years, straight.
But now I practiced playing with them.
where have you been living fr
A hostel in India, they're very strict.
Oh that's why , you just arevnot used to it with time it will come back naturally
Yes, I'm trying harder to get used to it.

Yeah, sure. They don't play with me tho cuz I was being a little weird, and I'm working on it.
I went to psychiatrist, she said Autism.
Hii
People who cannot intereact with the opposite gender suffer from Autism?
Not necessarily
Indians go to psychiatrist?
No, but I found out that my ancestors had Autism too.
Yes.
I see
well in general try to see the world in a positive light, be kind to others nd expect kindness in return.
For Asia and the middle East going to psychiatrist means one thing you're crazy
Yes, since it's only at the beginning of spectrum, I cured it myself.
yea Our parents are enough for that lol
Expect kindness in return? I don't think so.
it may be hard to but it leaves you with a distorted outlook on life
All I did was study for exams, but didn't have a single life skill.
was it JEE
Yeah.
Yes.
But I was not getting Computer science, so I chose NFSU.
You're from India too?
is that an NIT?
For one second I saw NFSU as NSFW idk why my brain goes there
yes
No, National Forensic Sciences University.
you need to practice self control and meditation more
Nice.
True, Meditation reduced my social anxiety.
Self control is there it's just that my mind corrupted form all the dark knowledge that I acquired From the internet
I see.!
I have it on my to do list too, but I always fall into the trap of thinking that these things do not work
dark knowledge is a fancy thing
I gtg as well
See ya
Cya
Lively talk that I missed
@ornate siren
Life is too serious to be taken seriously means
Lighten up
Have enough humour to keep life enjoyable
And definitely don't take everyone and everything so serious.
I'm not sure why you'd ask another user here about my status
Hi there
I have a small question why girasole?
Hmm, figured so
Hit our heads with hammers
I read and play some video games beside trying to keep up with the training
What about you ?
Oh okay no pressure feel free to do what you like to do
how can i get prepared for interviews, its different flow when 2 people speaking any advice?
Try practicing in here
In a VC channel
No.
You're wrong.
You didn't understand the meaning.
That's ok
I don't expect you to until you're older
It's also something my mother would say
I ask you politely not to disrespect her.
Thank you.
It's good to remember the quote from Seneca: 'We suffer more in our imagination than in reality'
Hello guys
I want some tips to help me move from b1 to b2 /c1
We do suffer a lot in our imagination.
And I agree that it is a frame we put on ourselves.
We think of ourselves as a person who is suffering. And we create suffering for ourselves by doing that.
We might even miss the fact that we are enjoying something because our belief that we are a person who suffers is so strong.
It doesnāt mean that suffering is not real. Itās very real.
But itās useful to distinguish between real feelings and beliefs which can create feelings based on a kind of imagined or secondary reality.
However, belief is quite personal.
If you try to push someone out of their beliefs they are more likely to hold onto them more strongly.
Telling someone that theyāre suffering isnāt real isnāt the best strategy.
People like to make up their own minds about what is real and what isnāt.
Thatās where we can come together if we are also investigating our own beliefs rather than trying to manage the beliefs of other people.
Perhaps we opt to suffer because it's simpler to embrace victimhood than to acknowledge to ourselves that we have the ability to address the sources of our suffering.
Iām gonna stop you there.
Feel free to present your own definitions and speak to the whole group.
It's an expression my mother had
It's not up for debate
This is not a space to harass people about their beliefs.
Hello
