Not all drivers are pushed through op sys updates. If you have odd cards in your machine, check out the manufacturer's website and check the driver version there. If you think something is not working with your current hardware and the version on the site is newer than your machine, then download and update it.

def factorial(n):
    if n == 1:

# Example usage.
print(factorial(5)) # Output: 120
#
  1. factorial(5) calls factorial(4) → returns 5 * factorial(4)
  2. factorial(4) calls factorial(3) → returns 4 * factorial(3)
  3. factorial(3) calls factorial(2) → returns 3 * factorial(2)
  4. factorial(2) calls factorial(1) → returns 2 * factorial(1)
  5. factorial(1) hits the base case → returns 1

factorial(2) returns 2 * 1 = 2
factorial(3) returns 3 * 2 = 6
factorial(4) returns 4 * 6 = 24
factorial(5) returns 5 * 24 = 120

The final result is 120.

well

#

What was your problem? What do you mean bios in this problem

eternal sandal
#

I mean, how would you delete the windows partition

#

or just erase the disk and fresh instal an os?

pure copper
#

You would need to have another operating system that you are sitting in, eg a USB copy of windows or linux , or running from another OS in another partition

#

That is you cant delete the data running your current OS

eternal sandal
#

tricky business, I was afraid to corrupt something

pure copper
#

Have you backed up all the data on your disk to at least 2 other locations, preferrable compl;etely separate disks.

eternal sandal
#

oh it's not now, I installed linux a few months ago. Back then, no, I did not backup anything

pure copper
#

What is the primary purpose of your activiy?

#

clear the windows off the machine altogether?

eternal sandal
#

I was having trouble installing ruby in my computer and wsl still sucks according to myself, so I just decided to try linux

#

Nah, I use windows for everything except work

pure copper
#

So its currently a dual boot machine?

eternal sandal
#

yep

pure copper
#

What runs the dual boot? the linux or the windows?

#

the boot manager that is.

eternal sandal
#

the bios, didn't want to install something to manage that and the computer gives me the option to pres F11 when turned on so I just use the boot manager from there

pure copper
#

is it winn 11 or 10

eternal sandal
#

I don't think it's the best way though

#

It's windows 10, my processor isn't great

#

Oh, I had a question for your new project. Are you still learning cpp?

#

or do you plan to use something else?

pure copper
#

I set up 2 machines about a year ago. Both win 10 but one with newer bios in it. I had to do different things for each computer. Both took about 4 days each to get through all the steps, while keeping my data, and squeezing in linux around the existing partitions. If I was to do it again, I would just buy a new empty disk and install straight from a clean install. But the main point was that the best option was to get the linux boot loader set up on the disk and point it to the 2 bootable partitions. I will tell you that I hadn't done anything like that for 30+ years. It was nostalgic, and literally, I was pushing binary data into the setup to get the loader to find them. I followed about 3 ytubers on set up dual boot. Can't say which ones, but I watched a few and selected the best. They used free open partition tools. Those tools worked great for shrinking the win partition, and allowed me to move stuff around make it more efficient.

Get yourself an usb use Rufus to flash the usb so it becomes a bootable usb. In the windows installer you can press customize select disk and from there delete all the data from the partition (make sure to select the correct one) and erase it. After that install the new window to that erased partition

As the heads move mechanically, they change pitch slightly when the head is close to the center of the disk compared to the outer edge. If you write a program to position the heads back and forth, you can change the sound coming from it. Make weird music if you want to call it that.

I think, one just needs to think of something to make and then start working on it, learning how it all fits together as you hit the different functions required. Then apply some knowledge and read/watch a little more. It will be horrible the first time (and 2nd and 3rd...), but as one reads and watches, improvement will happen with each little project, as you see better ways things can be done in those videos.

also, I'm doing shell scripts to run the app easily from the terminal, also thought about doing a TUI but i've no idea how to do that

Yeah, this is the thing. It's the media you can include youtube as well. that convince people that the IT industry is easy and then get dissapointed that it's full of the same drama, politics, and ass licking as any other job. If you compare to my job it's probably easier because you don't need to do night shift and clean vomiting and stuff like that

Yeah, I don't know much about IT I'm sorry xD

UX is cool and super important, in this case I was going to talk about metadata.

Does it also need coding?

Which uses the Unreal Engine, also similar to UX.

azure igloo
drowsy gyro
#

Seems like everything is using Unreal engine even games

azure igloo
#

You just need to be creative enough to create virtual mock-ups

#

And you'll be able to work for construction companies and so on.

drowsy gyro
#

That was very interesting to learn. You just really need to explore the world of IT. As for me, I'm just fine learning how to fix issues on my computer to save up money going to IT support xD

Yes, the world of It has expanded a lot. There are more and more new areas and specialisations.

drowsy gyro
#

so it's kinda like a software something? then sell to companies? You just really need to think outside the box

#

Never ever thought of that.

#

The only thing I thought was how to make a song out of the Beep Sound

azure igloo
#

Yes, exactly, then search for Unreal Engine metadata.

#

You'll see a whole new world, few people know how to do that. If you become an incredible professional you can charge a lot of money.

#

Little explored and a very large market.

Bear with me. My food is burning atm

#

azure igloo

Yes, it's widely used in some projects made with the Unreal engine.

I'll take a look on that . Very interesting. Thank you bro now I have another project apart from making a Love interaction game xD

# pure copper Where did the directory go, or what did the directory string actually look like?

that's the thing, the folder looked normal, but after some console logging I found that I was searching for something like '/notes/thefoldername', which is weird since I'm developing this project in windows, so my first thought was, I made something wrong using the join method from the file system node module, but it was just that I was calling it in the browser and there, the path does translate to the string above, the actual path in my computer was with \notes\ and whatnot, I really dislike that about windows, it still wouldn't have found it anyway

does anybody know?

Oh no

final citrus
#

This is the answer: "Based on the provided search results, videogame developers tend to be underpaid compared to other areas of the informatics industry. Here are some key points:

Many respondents on Reddit’s r/gamedev community and GameDev.net forums mention that game developers earn less than other types of developers, such as software engineers or QA testers, by a relatively large margin.
The StackOverflow Developer Survey 2018 found that game developers earn less than other developers, with 60% of respondents reporting a salary below $80,000 per year.
Some senior game developers may earn higher salaries, but these are often exceptions rather than the norm. For example, Riot Games reportedly pays entry-level developers $120,000-170,000 per year, but this is an outlier in the industry.
Junior game developers, in particular, may struggle to negotiate good salaries due to the industry’s talent retention problem, where there is an assumption that they may not last long-term.
QA testers, in contrast, are often underpaid and undervalued, with many working as contractors without benefits and struggling to afford living costs in high-cost areas.
Programmers, regardless of specialization, tend to earn more than designers or artists of equal seniority, but even they may not earn as much as their counterparts in other industries, such as FAANG companies.
Overall, while some senior game developers may earn decent salaries, the majority of game developers tend to be underpaid compared to other areas of the informatics industry. The industry’s unique culture and challenges, such as the “dream job” problem and talent retention issues, contribute to this disparity."

Ok, here's my roadmap to learning for the next few months (I think). I need to learn to develop an Android app. I am evaluating IDE and language now. I may just leverage off VS code as that handles development and I have it installed already. I have already read too much that Android Studio is slow, and I've already experienced that many years ago. It sound like the same slow issues I had in the olden days are still there. VS Code is not much better, but I know it.

As I have been learning C++ for the past few months, I will try and see if there is any advantage in switching to Java. If no real advantages, I may just continue with the C++. If anyone would like to tell me why they rejected one over the other, let me know. Specific major issues they have/had would help.

I will be building a fitness/diet application. Plenty on the market already, but really... everything has been developed already. My desire is privacy and local storage of my information, no built in advertisements, subscriptions, logins etc. Just for the user.

There will also be an SQLLite database sitting under this application, of which I also need to learn to use. There will be a small database design component, and set up to use with the application.

If anyone is interested in working immediately on a learning project now, let me know, now. I will probably be developing the specification over the next week or 2, and will incorporate ideas from anyone here. For absolute beginners this will be a good work along project if you would like to participate.

I will run through some database design (Entity-Relationship work) if anyone is interested in getting some understanding or practice in this.

There will also be the UI/UX (excuse my new vocabulary) but I will put together the user interface also before building the app. Lots of little things of interest if there are any beginners interested.

#

If there are any experienced Android developers or SQLLite gurus out there who would like to share their knowledge to a beginner audience, feel free to let me know, and we can run some of these parts as events.

As usual, this is to assist your technical English, while learning some new tech skills.

#

.

#

PS. I'm not cute, so don't DM me if you are not interested in the above scope of works. If you do DM me on this, please tell me in your opening post. I don't respond to 'Hello' DMs. OFC my preference is for people to just chat here so others can see whats happening and join in also.
