@tranquil arrow This was a few weeks ago. For development these days, try for 32GB memory, 1TB SSD. If you are planning on putting some game graphic cards in then a 750-1000W @ 240V PSU will save you from an early burnt out PSU.

The only path you would have now is to upgrade to Win 10 64bit. If you are using a machine that was installed with Win 7, I would suggest you don't do it, as it will be slower than if you just leave it at Win 7 32b. It will be so slow, that you can type your commands, and have a sip of tea while watching the letters appear individually on the screen.

You may be able to get an ISO file from an archive somewhere, and put it on a USB and then do a clean install. This is course from Dr. Chuck on free code camp. I think it's one of the best python courses for beginners. I started my programming journey almost year ago with Dr. Chuck and his videos taught me fundamentals of programming languages but in python: variables, data types, conditionals, functions, data structures etc. If you start learning programming basics with python then it's much easier to dive into different languages. It's good to start with python and get the idea how things work because python syntax is really similar to pseudo code. My advice: DON'T just watch these videos and copy paste code. Practice A LOT. Create your examples and play with the things you're learning. And I think that if you only want to learn basics then go up to but not including regular expressions. if the virus wipe out the bios, the board would be dead. But it still recognises itself as a Dell. So most likely the disk has been erased, Or you said that anyways. You may have lost the partition table that tells about the logical disks on the pysical disk in the machine. You may need to create a system partition to allow files to be written to the disk.

All Windows security settings were deleted due to a program I downloaded from an unofficial site that apparently contained a virus....

So I restarted Windows, but it stopped loading and deleted all my information, and then the BIOS was corrupted

Then this problem happened and I think my information has already been deleted considering he miserable condition..

then boot, and examine the HD on the machine that has died

push the F2 key immediately after turning on, until the bios information comes up. Check that it comes up. Check that the boot device is set to USB, then save and restart with the USB inserted, and it should boot from USB. @tiny jewel

Algorithms in my learning days were related to computer functions such as stack manipulation. It just gave a bit of extra relevance to the course. But learning random algorithms is not important. Nor is reading how someone else did it. The real world has problems that are relevant to your work place. If you are programming a laser cutter, then you will need to know some trigonometry or geometry. But the important thing is, you need to just sit down under a tree and visualize what is happening. Most solutions of real programmers are determined at 230am when you suddenly jump up in bed and say aha!.

To improve your thinking and improve your language skill, consider replicating an old simple arcade game. Don't worry about the graphics. Just use basic character manipulation. The important thing is how to make things move on the screen. Oh and don't use libraries. Except the very basics. It's more fun and more educational for you. The is nothing worse than trying to answer leet problems with no relevance to your life.

Besides, most problem solutions are given to you as a formula created by a mathematician or mad scientist and you only need to code it into a spot in a bigger system.

Just make a 2 dimensional grid, and display it, and change the cells in it with simple ASCII characters, or make some little bitmaps to place in them. Create your simple move functions. Use a set value for a cell to be a wall, wtc, and the functions are set to not move in that direction if its a wall.

Simple short projects with basic concepts and not trying to be over refined and pedantic in detail, are good. Just something enough to prototype an idea or concept and learn what it was for is good, but then using that simply in the overall project idea.

Welp, I started with rpg instead. I havent touch 3d things just yet (or kinda engine such unity, godot, unreal, etc) and still mess around 2d surface. Pygame has much things to explore and i'm still stuck with it for quite a while (that's why i told you that i have skill issue).
Aside from that, those ideas are something that I have not yet tried thus very interesting indeed. I have no idea what the current market is nor its trend nowadays. In fact, i know nothing about game developer but decided to start with creating the game itself instead

Your PC probably came with windows loaded on a single partition the size of the physical drive. To keep it and make room for a linux partition, you will first need to shrink the primary partition containing the Windows to something smaller. example 500gb original disk and primary partiotion, shrink to maybe 100gb, which leave 50gb for windows and 50gb for any programs you may want to add/keep. Then create a couple of partitions as required for linux. Some may say its easy, and it may be but its more scary that you will stuff it up. There are a few good ytube videos to watch. There are some complexities. I did 2 PCs and they both had completely different methods because one was a win7/10 conversion and the other was a win 11 version. Make sure you have another pc available for tool downloads etc. It took me about 2 days to perfect the first one, and another week to get through the win 11 issues.. The biggest problems were having to program in boot strap loader to get it to work. I hadn't done that in 40 years, and that was nostelgic and a shock to even be needing to do. Dont forget to download your linux to a usb for installation. Best to us the Unix booter as the start boot.
