Not a beginner friendly language due to the complicqted syntax. Thats why its recommended not to start with it but its your choice after all

I wouldn't recommend starting with C++ bec as some said, it's not very beginner friendly and it's kind of a low level language. I would recommend starting with python and understanding the basic fundamentals of programming then moving onto other languages.

Although, if you push to learn c++ in the beginning, it'll help you get the ropes around most programming concepts and have a good grasp of fundamentals and everything that goes on under the hood.

@trail sundial I think it depends on what you are wanting to improve. To name a few ideas, if you want to improve problem solving, then I suggest coding challenges. If you want to improve your ability to write maintainable and reusable code, then I suggest learning about design patterns and also SOLID principles if the language you are using supports OOP.

For example my middle front-end acquaintance works something like 3 hours a day on average after burning out on full time. Get's payed much less, but still doesn't want to resume full time work.

Plus at certain levels salary increase becomes much smaller, until you start to acquiring skill from other positions like front end, ops or management.

Yup, burning out in IT is very dangerous. I had the time, when I felt horrible because I did a much more work related with managing, code review etc. instead of coding. When I realized, that work doesn't make me happy, I went to my PM and we talked about diversity of my duties.
