i gotta admit that southern accents usually sound a lot better than pth tho
they just sound a lot softer somehow
no idea how bad singapore is but i guess i wont understand anything
similar to southern ig? its just really watery
the shi vs si thing is something singapore does (and us too cus malaysians speak mandarin very similarly to singaporeans)
i could quite literally give you a free trial of what its like to listen to singaporeans speaking in mandarin 💀
fuck i just realised we're in the jp channel

close enough
i dont think a convo would be a good idea so ill just record me reading a short text or something and send it later
i aint gonna understand you im chinese by ethnicity not by nationality 😔✊
Capybara
确实好像南方的方言哈哈哈哈哈
even 天气 sounds so weird
i need to do more listening immersion
btw my voice msg was just a random 东宫 line
i consume zero chinese media so
chatgpt it is
wanted some kindergarten level xiao ming ahh story anyway
我都说了 :p 我们马来西亚和新加坡人就是这样说话,所以你这样的口音对我们来说算是很厉害的哈哈
気 without the メ
But this is the Japanese channel lol

Malachi was born in Hokkaido, Japan to Australian 🇦🇺 parents. He has spent his entire life in Japan and has completly assimilated to Japanese life except for his clothing. Being 6’4 (193 cm) with US size 15 shoes (33 cm) means it’s impossible to buy clothes here. He’s always a lot taller than everyone around him and stands out a lot,...

池袋弁 😭
she speaks better chinese than me and she isnt even speaking chinese

what does this have to do with the boxes above it
good... food
also i really dont wanna visit vietnam in summer
damn i wish my mom would go to vietnam with me
also vietnma has good beaches i g
i actually didnt want to go to vietnam at first but my mom forced me

after seeing the prices i supported the idea tho
vietnam might be the cheapest country i ever visited
now we just have to somehow not get ripped off
you could get ripped off and it would still be the cheapest country you ever visited
japan was also very cheap tbf
except for clothes
discord still cant process heic
what a joke
byee

i really wanna go there agian but get a car next time
Bro that second photo is pure cinema holy it looks great
i wish i had an actual camera during my trip, i took all the pics with manual mode on my samsung 😭
my fav is still the 1st pic cuz it just gives me nostalgia of kyushu lol
kyushu be like

canon
what
nothin
I'm currently at the horizontal bit at the beginning
lmao f
i had a daburu bacon chiizubaagaa yesterday
The second voice sounds like a Japanese @empty folio
I know right
@dusky carbon
That's exactly her way of speaking too
😭
kinda

I'm planning on doing a homestay in japan for a week next year
it's way cheaper than staying in a hotel (4000 yen a night / £20), for a really nice room in a japanese familys home
they cook you meals, take you to places
just seems like a no brainer

so you're able to read all hiragana now? :D
I wish I could ignore it but there has been many times where I’ve seen it used 😭
yea can't skip
as for N5 kanji, it's probably better to learn vocab with kanji, instead of the kanji directly
Yes I probably will
thats a rent of 600

@quartz stream @cursive dock @full mauve Spoke with Japanese people irl (I'm one of the people on this picture)
Got jouzu'd at the end
are you the blond haired girl
I wish
A friend of mine works at that company. Apparently they let people from Kazakhstan work in Japan
r ur eyes closed or open
Closed 💀
knew it
I mean, they were open, but I look like they're closed
Flx 😭
the leftmost person, the girl with glasses is you

No sorry I am not a girl in this picture
Flx
Do you think I should go to Japan and work at a ブラック会社
youre hidden perfectly because you also look asian
||I am terrible at smiling idk why I did that||
I somehow figured out that 農業 means 畑作り
@full mauve you hear that mr flx
Get on my level
Poggers I have studied enough katakana to now read the komimau tag as komimau
yayyyyyyyy
(I already knew it said that but actually being able to read it is very cool)
Chat these katakana combinations to make English noises are pmo
It was so easy until these mfs decided to exist
wadzu miin
Yes
daburu bacon chiizubaagaa
chat I've finished katakana and I'm finally learning kanji and I already wanna kms
tf you mean I got to remember the like 4 different ways one kanji can be used
Remember words, not kanji, and it shall become easier to remember
yea not worth learning the kanji themselves
learn vocab with kanji (and test yourself to read vocab without furigana)
Ik that’s what I’m doing
actually that's a lie I thought I was but I don't think my deck had vocab as well
anyone got any good n5 vocab + kanji decks? c:
https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/310759435 might try this one
core 2k
Is that good for N5 though, I don’t want to learn stuff above my level atm :v
i think @forest condor studied using core 6k :o
I c
it's designed to be studied in order, the cards are laid out that way
Maybe but I like having a goal, it helps keep me on track
Ah okay
Idk I just feel like I’ve I do that if will be overwhelming
Or how about, finishing your first vn/ln
Watching your first unengsubbed anime
Haha I see
I think for me I just like structure
I don’t like studying aimlessly
I really struggle with that so I like now JLPT just has a set of vocab and kanji you learn for each stage
So it just splits it out for me
It doesnt tho
They literally removed it because of people who wants to optimize for the test, which makes it less effective as a language test
Oh really
The Official Worldwide Japanese-Language Proficiency Test Website is operated by the Japan Foundation and Japan Educational Exchanges and Services.
I hate this meme.
Interesting
Is this a challenge
zumi gone
Sad times
@quartz stream do you want to race who reads a light novel faster
@full mauve what was the light novel about uwaki
The one with NTR
彼女に浮気された俺は異世界で菩薩剣聖になってハーレムを作る
Idk
You used to read it like 2 years ago
If anyone is interested
This is chinmoku no majo
I will speedrun this
Just give it time
You wont know from one day to another
yeeeee ik
Doing it daily and consistency is more important
ye
Nice
hopefully
the more kanji u know the easier it will get
cuz most kanjis are just made up of base kanji (radicals)
菜 采 stuff like this
yes I'm learning radicals right now
I'm using wanikani to learn at least the first few, and that's the first thing they take you through
don't roast me for the tools I use again, I know I could just use anki but I personally find wanikani better for me
as they give good mnemonic examples to remember certain things, and I used another one of their tools to like hiragana and katakana in the first place and it was the only thing that worked for me lol
just sucks you gotta pay for it at a certain stage which idk if I will
i dont think its a problem lol
you use what works for u
haha fair enough

Why did bro turn into a jojo character
Would it be better for me to just learn vocab before even looking at kanji
I’ve tried doing both at the same time bur nothing is sticking :v
And also it’s just confusing when some have multiple meanings and stuff I just don’t get it
yea i got to the point where i was memorizing the meaning of kanji but it barely helped once i tried learning vocab
learning vocab directly is more effective, as long as it's specifically with kanji (and no reading aids, like furigana)
I don’t get why some kanji you learn the meaning and but some have direct kanji for vocab words
Why is there a difference
Al I dumb
I don’t get it
I would prefer a deck that just gives me a kanji and the Japanese word
Not a kanji and a translated English meaning
If that makes sense
which deck are you using rn
Just give me 水 - mizu and not water or some other weird translation
None really
I’ve downloaded a few but they all suck
I’ve just been using wanikani to learn radicals atm
vocab and meaning are two different things
"water" is the meaning of the kanji 水
but the kanji 水 on its own is the word "mizu", which translates to water
there are a lot of words that use the kanji 水, like 水分 (すいぶん, moisture)
or even 水曜日 (すいようび, wednesday)
Huh
I get why it’s in moisture but not Wednesday
So then
Do I just learn the vocab with the kanji
And forget about the meaning first
What the fuck
It goes back to like ancient traditions
Dawg how the fuck am I supposed to remember that
So Wednesday is essentially “water day”
Bruv
yea
at least sunday is literally sun day
日曜日
and monday is moon day
月曜日
Yeah fair
Well for know I’ll just learn the vocab and the kanji for the individual words
And then I’ll start worry about meanings at a later date
https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/419481234 okay this deck seems pretty good
日本人と話すのは楽しいです
Okay I’m jus typing to study the vocab first and then true kanji, instead of simultaneously
I feel like I’m trying to use all my brain power to remember the kanji but then not focusing on the meaning
Ik im so famous
That’s me
Holy shit he said the n word
don't ban me daddy erik
Bruh I just had another surreal experience where I was listening to a song in Japanese, one that I’ve loved for years, and I could just finally understand it
And it hit hard asf especially because it was depressing asf
I’m not gonna lie, simply talking to Japanese people is so OP for learning I feel
I’m essentially vocab mining from conversations
Where did you find
agree
but idk if its more effective than reading / listening immersion at an early stage
if youre intermediate + its the best for sure
I'm not intermediate
Currently I find it very beneficial because I have more of scattered knowledge and it’s helping me realise what parts I have and what I’m missing
Definitely can’t rely on it, but currently I’m learning lots from it so will continue to do so
While studying vocab on the side
HelloTalk is the app I use
I’ve been chatting and I feel like I learn more every time, because I have like a basic conversation with one person, learn a few things, and then use it with the next
So they all follow a similar flow but I’m getting more advanced each time
And it’s about the sort of stuff I will be talking to Japanese people about when I visit as well
So I think it’s very useful to know
bro no lie i feel like u kinda underestimate yourself. look at that chat bruh u use kanji every sentence and at the same time u say u dont know much? XD
Well to be fair a lot of the kanji is because I use a IME and that automatically detects the kanji from the romaji version
For example
But I’m definitely learning lots of kanji just from seeing what it turns into tbh
so how do you make sure it is the right one
sometime there are kanji that are written the same in hiragana
but different meaning
but i guess just taking the first suggestion is pretty safe cuz its probably the one u want
99% of the time the first one will be correct I think
I’ve not experienced many times where it was wrong
But ofc if it feels obviously off I will just search it up just to be sure
nice
ye i think even keboard goes by whats most likely aka what other japanese people use the most
yeah exactly it auto fills quite well
例えば、「私」と「私たち」
Just learned about Japanese quotations while writing that
Didn’t realise they used 「」
I’m learning so much just by trying to speak lol
By this I mean, when typing watashi it will also give the option for watashitachi as that’s commonly used as well
Yeah
there are so many homophones in jp tho, maybe it's closer to like, 75% of the time
fair
i read this as homophobes
Yuri tho
I will say, one limit of relying on conversation to learn is that it's limited to the scope of your level in a way, like I can't go into more depth and even if they try io it isn't as much as just reading or immersion
for learning new vocab at least
so it's good for like consolidating what you already know
but maybe not for learning lots of new words
it's really frustrating because I can say what I want, but just in like it's rawest form, like I can't use the write words to really express how I feel in deeper meaning
and it's really annoying when I can't put what I want into words
so I end up sounding robotic
grrrrrr
ye i feel u
I'm studying chinese the same way rn
but I'm learning new words all the time
Ily flx
cuz the girls i call with all write me stuff i dont know yet so i can add it to anki

Nooooo
He already has multiple girls in his harem
😭

too many cute girls want to call on wx

i have like 28 friends already

On the Rise of Anti-Foreigner Sentiment in Japan / Explaining the Rise of Anti-Foreigner Sentiment in Japan / Unp...
hopefully it's not too bad when I go there next year
but I'm not surprised, everybody has been visiting recently lol
i heard its bad in big cities
but other than that it seems chill
esp the countryside barely sees foreigners anyways
I plan on mainly going around the countryside anyway, tbf
The beauty of Japan imo is the little shrines in the middle of nowhere and things like that
I like the sort if places you went to on your trip
Should defo give recs for when I go
One thing I’m definitely doing is the shimanami kaido
I love cycling and it’s such a beautiful area of Japan and I’ll probably be able to find some remote bits so should be perfect
i rlly wanna go there too ngl
when i went the weather was too cold unfortunately
Defo think it’s the thing I want to do the most tbh
I’m going in October next year so it should be be ideal weather tbh
Japan in the autumn 👌
Perfect weather and so beautiful
yea fr
i can only go during summer or winter oof
imma go end of summer 26 prolly
northern japan tho so the weather is also perfect then
my friend is going in july so I kind of want to go them, but I just know it will be so hot
jp summer is crazy dont risk it
this is coming from a southeast asian
dont even think ab it

Yeah I know lol, not sure I want 35c 100% humidity
I think October should be a good time to go
Or like march/April if I have the money then but I don’t think I will
april would be so gooddddd
sakura gacha
Yeah exactly
Ideally I’d go then, but I think it’ll probably be October as I’d rather go with more money then have to cut it close when I’m there :v
I’d only have 2k by that point for everything including booking the flight, hotels and everything else when I’m there
Which for 2 weeks is defo not enough lol
also isnt sakura season super crowded and expensive
i think october should be pgood
ill go in september prolly
i only have like a few weeks between graduation and starting my masters so im kinda cooked
Yeah off
Ofc
I’ll probably stick to October
This is my dream trip, I’d rather go with as much money as possible and have no worries
https://youtube.com/shorts/ssBM3jTJNUs whenever someone says get rid of kanji, just send them this channel's yt shorts
Get rid of kanji

力カ力カ
LOL I just watched this now 😭
actually kinda real asf
nah, get rid of the kanji and use context clues still
easy
@full mauve somewhere in Japan there's a Kitagawa Marin that's waiting for you to become friends and eventually lovers with her

I might to Japan in mid march and play cherry blossom roulette
Think I might have enough money if I’m smart
Might have to stay in a couple capsule hotels/hostels though
I'll get a credit card and go to japan
Do it
Guys
Am I crazy for this
I might not book hotels before going to Japan
I might just book them on the day
Because I don’t know how long I want to spend in each city
But like looking rn, I can get a same day capsule hotel for £20
So if it’s the same when I’m there then happy days
worth
sometimes it's better to just go without a fully laid out plan
decide things on the spot
I think it would be better tbh
I'm scared about the costs
but realistically, I will be able to at least find some place to stay for not too much
and most of the time I'll be out and about anyway so all I care about is having a bed lmao don't need somewhere fancy
yeah looking at tokyo, kyoto and osaka, if I wanted to book a capsule hotel today I could for £20
which is basically what I'll be doing when I'm there
so I'll probably just do that

unfortunately
i wanna go back to my neet life
but money doesnt grow on trees
same
During Covid anime was my entire life
frrrr
Now I gotta work 😭
Best time of my life fr
covid is the only reason i even started watching anime and studying japanese lol
china W 💀
yeah same tbh
I started to get into anime a little before covid, but it was only because of covid that I able to get into it as much as I did lol

except i can read hiragana
so instead of saying something something, i read it out in hiragana, yet i still only understand half

i read chinese in japanese readings
Time to lock in even harder with my Japanese studies now that I know I’m going
And I’m basically done with all my studying for other things so there will be no interference
Quit your job for even less interference
Speaking facts
You might have trouble choosing your first-person pronoun in Japanese, and so do Japanese people. Growing up in Japan, we all go through a phase of figuring out which pronoun fits us best. In this video, I’ll share how I came to use the pronouns I use now, and how you can decide the right one for yourself.
Courses, Free Dialogues, and Newslet...
glad to know it's just as convoluted for natives as it is for us learners
I just always use watashi tbh
Or actually just whatever comes to my head first at the time lel
I use boku and ore
Sometimes sessha if I want to sound extra comedic
I think I do mainly use boku now that I think about it
Just a bit easier to say than watashi
Watashi is like if you don't know the person
But when I talked to jp people it was a casual setting

heavy asf american accent 😭
American accents in Japanese genuinely pmo
Holy fuck Duolingo is actually good now
They finally explain things
This is game changing
yeah idk why
but I'm glad they added this feature
this was my biggest complaint of duolingo
just endless word matching but no explainations as to why
what even is this
this all i know
語り (katari) is indeed talk
and i assume こいよ! (koi yo!) is from the verb 来る (kuru, to come)
自分語りこいよ!
come talk about yourself!
something like that
and apparently 長文 (choubun) means "long text", i had to look it up
yea its basically like "come and drop the full story"
this implies youre stacked
where does the brain go
no cus since the brain replaces the shit i shit the brain out and the shit stays in my head
lmao
Is that a Chinese speaker moment or sum shit
yeah so
i read the chinese pronunciation of 長 and the japanese pronunciation of 文
and then i pieced in my head and i was like
Oh 😭😭
mmm yes, long word
I see so Chinese is the exact same characters (or at least some overlap) then
Interesting
and then i realised that i didnt even translate it accurately in my head cus 文 isnt word and text is actually more accurate
and then i sent the gif of the brain in my rectum
I mean obviously I know they were the same characters, but I thought it was just the same style but each language has their own unique ones, but I guess there’s some overlap too
Fair bahahah
the difference is down to the strokes and meanings but almost all of the general characters itself overlap between both languages
Yeah that’s what I figured fair
the thing is
jp uses the traditional writing
and china has long switched over to a simplified version so people wouldnt have to write so much
only taiwan preserves what they used to be
thank god i learned simplified cus hell nah bruh thats a lot of bullshit to write out
not that i was ever good at chinese to begin with
dont make my life harder
🙏
yup
Oh wait so monogatari comes from 語り
yea
but 化物語 is actually a play on 化物 物語
chat I've planned my japan trip

sounds good
id probably include 1 full day in matsuyama but thats just my shikoku love ig
I would include 1 day with gf
onomichi is very zased and esp the cycle part sounds rlly good , i always wanted to do that route as well but when i visited it was too cold
be sure to send a lot of pics
I got a full day is masuyama as my last full day basically
Flight leaves at 19:45
So I can get explore most of it
Yeahhhhh it’s the main thing I’ve always wanted to do ehehehe ever since I saw trash taste do it
I’m going in March so the weather should be like a perfect 20c hopefullyyyyy
Busy season but hopefully most tourists don’t go there anyway
I’m gonna:3
I can’t because she’s not allowed to go unfortunately:/
yea shikoku is a lot less busy than tokyo or kyoto
👍
yupppp even better
and it's easily like the prettiest region of japan tbh
ideallll:3
hell yeahh so pretty god damn 😭
i def wanna go back there one day
ill visit northern japan this year tho prolly
sapporo kaisendon
hell yeah
northen japan interests me too cuz of abroad in japan
I'm definitely going back next year for sure
imma make it a yearly tradition for sure
there's just too much to do 😭 I could easily spend the whole 2 weeks in tokyo alone
that was honestly the hardest portion to plan, because there was just so many options
at least with the other things there's like only a few things that everybody goes to see and that's it so I didn't really have to think about it
and shimanami kaido is just a set route anyway so not much to think about there, just go to start and figure out how to get back from finish, luckily matsuyama has an airport and domestic flying in japan is goated asf
W
yea use JAL explorer pass or the ANA equivalent for it
you even get free wifi all flight in eco its crazy
i flew from takamatsu to haneda and haneda to kagoshima this year, honestly so much better than any flight in europe 😭
I believe I’m flying ANA
nicee i wanna try them on my next trip to japan
i only flew jal last time to farm some oneworld miles but honestly miles max isnt worth it for me since i fly maybe 2 , 3 times a year
I think jal is supposed to be nicer tbh
but I've heard good things about both
like you said, way better than europe (looking at you ryanair) bahahah
gonna have to make more use of the planes on my next trip for sure
If im not mistaken, I heard that Japan offers free national flights for tourists so they can get people out of Tokyo and Kyoto to other places.
Or am I stupid
@full mauve bruh, in tokyo for £40/night I can only get a capsule hotel, in kyoto, osaka nice hotels, and in hiroshima im literally getting a whole ass apartment 😭
yea hiroshima i had a rlly nice 50€/night 4 star hotel with rooftop onsen and a view over the whole city lmao
literally tokyo is so expensive but every other city is cheap asf lmao
i stayed in yokohama last time i was in tokyo so i also spent like 80€ a night on a nice hotel there
and that was like a steal
I'm almost suspicous it's fake 😭
but the reviews seem legit
but there's only like 20
if the reviews dont seem botted its legit
i doubit that happens often in japan tbh
its this one
they value trust a lot
waytoodank link
i had to cancel 3 hotels in vietnam due to botted reviews
luckily i double checked
ya looks legit
wild bro
just gotta get through the first 4 days of capsules in tokyo and then I'm living in luxury
yeah lmao
the yen is also dropping so hard rn
I don't mind the idea of capsules, I usually stay in hostels when I travel in europe so I'm pretty used to it
seems like it will be a bit nicer even lmao
yeah true
all my hotels have been booked, average of £32/night not bad
and like I said, only tokyo I'm staying in capsules
rest of the trip either apartment or hotel
Thats like 70aud thats so fucking cheap, most average places here in australia range from 100-850 a night
i think i spent like 50euros/night on avg in February
and i stayed at rlly good 4 star hotels lmao
with like onsens n shit
So sad, one of my flights (from Shanghai to Tokyo) has been cancelled so I just had to spend £100 to book another flight for that 😭
I’m already on a tight budget bro 😭
W damn
they didnt rebook u? wtf
my flight to japan was also cancelled in 23 but i got rebooked to finnair from airfrance
was actually a blessing cuz helsinki is like europes best airport imo
I wish flights in australia were as cheap as Europe.
Fucken over half your budget for anything holiday is flights
Australia has cheaper flights to japan than we do tho
How much are your flights
WHEN THE FUCK THEY GET SO CHEAP
Flying to another state costs more then japan, this makes fuck all sense
usually like 700-1000 euros
i checked sydney and you can fly via china southern for like 400 euros return
crazy
and china southern a350 is so good

russia cucked europe asia flights
I mean they are such a cheap airline I’m not surprised 😭😭
I think I could get a refund if I went through china eastern themselves which I did try but their website was too buggy:/
😭 average chinese airline
their websites are even worse than japanese ones i feel like
Somehow yeah 😭 most advanced society btw
if u get a railpass and want to do online reservations u can only book them between 8 am and 10pm JST
💀
the website doesnt work outside of their service hours
thats the thing they arent 😭 but i guess they wanna make sure theres always support available? idk
Bruhhhh 😭😭
Is it easy to get Shinkansen tickets
In Tokyo imma just use suica but I guess for Shinkansen I’ll need a ticket right
yea esp if u have an iphone ig
u can either just use the machines at the train station or this https://smart-ex.jp/en/lp/app/
smart ex only works for the kyoto to tokyo one tho
Do I need to reserve them or can I just do on the day
you dont need to reserve but for the fastest one its recommended since non reservation seats are limited
on the slower shinkansen ull have no problems finding a seat tho 100%
nozomi is the fastest iirc
Hmm
u can also just reserve same day at the machine and therell 99% be a free seat if thats what u meant
i think i misunderstood oop
i just always went to the station and got a reserved seat same day to make sure i dont have to stand the whole journey
Yeah I’ll do that
yea
at the machine i think u can choose to either link the ticket to ur ic card or get two paper tickets
Ohhhh okay I’ll link it if it’s easy enough
its not that complicated but i messed it up the first time i tried riding shinkansen and i was panicking so hard lmao
i thought id miss my train but the staff helped me luckily
Damn bro 😭😭
I hope my Japanese is good enough for this
It feels pretty good nowadays but idk
I just can’t read kanji 😭
Procrastinate that shit
my jp in 2023 was also shit lol
i still survived
i just googled and it says modern machines will just print u the basic fare + shinkansen ticket onto one paper ticket
that makes it a lot more convenient ig
ah hell yeah wicked
that should save my ass
so I'll just pay the basic fare on the machijne alongside it
yeah, work case I'll just use chatgpt lmao
that's unironically really good at translating 😭
yea so no worries
true
chatgpt is goated
I use it to study lowkey ahahaha
hell yeah
Should I go to Japan
yes
Do you want happiness, do you want peace, tou want good fortune then yes
obv
although how long is it gonna take you to afford that on kazakstahn wages 😭
I'm gonna move to the Netherlands one day to earn it quicker
I was gonna say, otherwise it will take like 3 years of saving up 😭
maybe 2 at best
assuming you can save your entire salary
the world is so unfair man
I can still get a vacation here in Kazakhstan
Bet there's tourist places here too
that fact it would take someone that long to save up for the same thing when it takes me like 4 months is ridiculous
true lol
big mountains right
so beautiful nature at least
I went to the mountains in summer btw. Was like $50 overall ($20 gas to a friend + $30 on food)
Come to Kazakhstan
probably will one day
I plan on going to every european country
is kazakshtan europe
or central asia
central asia actually right
but still on the continent so ill go
Kazakhstan is partially in europe
going to japan rn is pretty cheap fortunately
cuz enyasu
if u can save like 300 USD a month it should only take like 5 months to finance a decent japan trip no
That’s literally what I did lol
£200 so slightly less maybe but close enough
But yeah abt 5 months maybe total
I already had some savings from before as I sold my phone though so that gave me a slight boost
i save about 200€ a month for vacations too
most of my savings go into etfs tho nowadays 😭
my next japan trip will be a tad bit more expensive tho cuz i wanna go to hokkaido
the flights to hokkaido will cost at least 1k for sure
😭
really?
my flight to tokyo is £411, and then surely the flight from tokyo to hokkaido is only like, £100?
yea maybe i can get a cheaper one if i stay like a day in tokyo
but i dont wanna waste a day in tokyo aaa
i mean ill be transitting in tokyo anyways probably to fly to hokkaido when i fly from germany but then im not doing a self transfer at least so im save if my previous flight is cancelled or delayed
NGL If I had 200€ a month I'd probably invest it into something instead
I'd rather have fun now when I'm young rather than when I'm old
And I'm doing both
I put £50 a month into S&P 500, which averages 10% interest per year
I'll probably have to choose and like
So you're investing into american companies
What if america gets a crisis
jk haha we're doomed either way
I mean
if the top companies crash, then the economy crashes with it
that's why you need real assets instead
but unfortunately I don't have enough for that yet
the only thing I've got like that unironically is my PC at this rate lol
I guess since you've been so many times, there's probably not much new things you can do in just a day in tokyo
I think it's worth doing rather than spending more money though
wtf same but I don't even own the pc
It's actually my parents' but I will probably just take it from them since they don't need it
for me its prolly not worth since i dont have that many vacation days left this year oof
I will 1080p gayme on it and it will be the best experience I have
even if the economy crashes, you are secure
i just buy All world etfs
PC is a terrible asset unless you buy right before a shortage
yeah
even if the economy crashes itll eventually recover
but I'm just giving an example my guy
i just invest money i know i dont need atm
if i had more money id diversify by buying like real state etc
ahhhhh that's totally fair, I'm having the same problem lol
I've not heard of that
tbh I haven't looked too much into options, I just invest in S&P 500 as it's easy and I don't have lots of money to spread my investments atm
so I'd rather put what I have into one I know will give returns
Wtf all world etf sounds cool
ngl al world etf does sound cool
why did I type the same message twice
idk
I meant to say that s&p 500 is totally valid
sp 500 is ok but riskier than this
all world yields a bit less but is more diversified
most of the ETF is still SP500 companies tho
ahhh I seee
I'll stick with S&P 500
seems like that's basically the same
and im happy even if its slightly riskier cuz I'm pretty confident in the S&P 500 anyway, unless we have an economic crash
which realistically would mean its joever either way
anyway this is the japanese study chat
why are we talking investing 😭

Chat
I might be meeting up with a Japanese girl I met on HelloTalk 😭😭
The timing kinda sucks cuz I got a gf now but I’m just gonna see how it goes

shes gonna give me a tour of kamakura
since I was going there anyway
should be cool
I'm scared to speak in japanese though, my speaking is so much worse 😭
typing is okay
speaking, all my knowledge leaves me 😭
cant cheat on the gf though, so im just thinking of this as a friendy language exchange tour lol
gonna have to lock in even more than I already am
I've been studying lots recently tbh
I can basically watch most anime now without subtitles without a problem, which is nice
unless there's some ridiculous unique word, but usually I get enough to understand anyway lol
Vronis cheating on his long distance gf
I'm not gonna 😭
just meeting up with a friend 😭
I'm not that kind of guy
You said you're gonna see how it goes 😂
afaik Japanese people don't get with foreigners all that often
And some get with foreigners for the experience of dating a foreigner. Like a thrill ride
It sounds racist because it is
Honestly I’m not expecting much
That’s why I said I’ll see how it goes
its a nice thing to do so why not
i also met a few girls during my last visit and we had a great time
one girl even drove me around for free it was way too sweet
wasnt anything romantic tho just friendly conversations
Exactly!!
Flx is my man
Backing me up
Hello talk is so good fr chat
I have like 10 jp girls actively messaging me, so if you did want a jp gf this shit defo the way 😭
But I’m just purely tryna practice atm
Locked in
My Japanese is improving so fast
Cuz I basically know grammar well enough, it’s just learning lots of new words
i only use hellotalk for chinese nowadays😭
i should maybe try to talk to japanese ppl again sometime
im already rlly rusty
my chinese is getting decent tho finally
nice!
I would never study chinese
chinese is essentially all the things I hate in japanese and that's it
aka kanji galore
and fucking tones fuck that
I find hellotalk really good though tbh, and there's so many people on it, you never run out of people to talk to
Bruh I’m living my old dream, waking up to tons of messages from Japanese girls 😭 why does life always give you things when only once you’ve moved on 😂 like of course I get this now I’ve got a gf
