I got an idea for a defense weapon that works similar to shield, but is used like flak
When you fire it, it has a wave-like projectile that gets larger as it moves, similar to flak, and has half the range of flak and doesn't deal damage. Instead, it completely destroys any enemy or allied projectiles (negates all damage to tanks and the environment), including poison and smoke. The advantage is that it allows you to destroy any projectile. The disadvantage is that it doesn't linger
Extra properties:
- isn't affected by whirlwinds, gravity, or shields
- can block any projectile (ex. it will destroy a smoke without setting it off, but if the smoke already hit something, it can't do anything to affect the cloud, and the same goes for poison)
- if it collides with another one they will mutually destruct
- doesn't affect tanks or land at all
- if a projectile is destroyed by it, whatever launch effect that projectile had will be negated
