Turret shrinkage?

Often times the turret on my little yellow mini-bot extends well below my tank treads... however, sometimes it seems to shrink and is only level with the ground.... Why it do that?

i think this happens to like all the bots

at least its happened quite often

the turret does that when you shoot a lot in a short time
