So for both local and regional tournaments, they ask for the trainer ID, what’s the reason for that again?

I know for regionals, it’s because the more points you rack up, the better chance you have of qualifying for Worlds

for locals right now it's mostly to gauge participation in your local leagues but it's always good to have your player ID tied to any officially sanctioned tournaments you're in.

when CP events return for locals then it will be more important but our tournament organizer has told us that right now getting participation up in our leagues helps with gauging how much prize support tpci sends to us

there are Decks that don't really care about going second but they are few and far between

you should consider giving Arceus Reggie Drago a shot

being able to use arceus's V-Star power to get the exact cards you need to get your game going can be hugely powerful along with its energy acceleration

I feel like that's better for the deck than using Reggie's V Star power

But when Lugia can consistently hit 280 turn two it's really rough

Regidrago should have had 300+hp

it's legitimately the fattest Pokemon in the game besides Blissey

since you have access to all the trainer and Pokemon from the last 12 years you can pick and choose the ones to make your list as consistent as possible

in this water list for example I am running the h. basculin that has the free call for family attack along with Sonia and Gloria which also search for basics from there I have access to tons of Pokemon support through trainers which can be found via Shady dealings.

most types have very consistent ways to set up their board each game utilizing specific Pokemon and trainers

it's also a slower format so you're not as punished for having a slow start as you would be in standard or expanded

the only type right now that has a consistency problem is fighting, because it has very few support Pokemon in the format

so you're pretty much at the whim of how your deck draws more so than other types

faerie is a surprisingly consistent type although quite a bit underpowered since it only has two eras worth of cards to choose from

Fighting just needs one good draw support Pokemon.

It's best consistency is the garchomp Lucario combo but that is reliant on having a stage 2 and a stage 1 out at the same time in order to have any sort of consistency

and fighting has arguably some of the strongest control lineups as well

with the fossil Pokemon

not necessarily, to explain it in simple terms Western releases consolidate two or more smaller Japanese sets into one massive set

sometimes a card gets pushed out of an English set that originally released together in Japan when that happens in regulation marks change between sets that card that was originally intended to release earlier will be given the previous regulation Mark so it stays in line with its original release schedule and the cards it was meant to be played with

the reason for this consolidation is because Western markets account for a huge population of pokémon players and having smaller more frequent sets leads to manufacturing and distribution issues when trying to ensure a worldwide release of a product so they have to consolidate sets in this way in order to streamline it logistically

I do remember them saying, most of the new changes is to unify both the Japan and western TCG

yes that is the reason why rotation was pushed back by almost 7 months it allows us to have access to the exact same format as Japan since their sets release 2 months before hours it only makes sense that we would rotate 2 months after they do

prior to this upcoming rotation Japan had access to meta games that included a broader selection of cards.

which is how they designed the game to be played for some reason tpci did not follow this schedule for rotation and decided instead to rotate either before or after the world championships in the late summer

hopefully the goal is to eventually have unified worldwide releases however in order to do that either Western markets or Japan will have to change the way that they build sets

I personally don't expect that to happen but now rotation is practically unified since tpci influence markets will have access to the same meta games as TPC markets

the only exceptions are the discard your hand draw seven supporters like juniper, sycamore, and professor's research. also boss's orders and Lysander count as the same card both of those supporters were covered under a tpci errata stating that you cannot play them both in the same deck
