#Client rejected sent items

When you restore the account with the recovery key in the account restore option, after entering the recovery key, you should've been prompted to download a backup of your account information before you were able to continue. Where is that?
Resetting your password wipes your account of all the information in it. Resetting it with the recovery key shouldn't do this, but it looks like something went wrong (I'm not sure what though, because I haven't seen that message before).
Do you have another device that's signed into your account? You should be able to put that device in airplane mode (if you don't, everything will be cleared from it), and download a backup from that device, then you should be able to restore most of (if not all) your data.
@dense bridge
I don't have access to the server. I'm just a moderator of the Discord. I don't work for Notesnook/Streetwriters.
In end to end encryption
Everything is encrypted with your password
If you forget your password and reset it then your notes will surely lost
Bcz the Encryption key is tied to your previous password
If that lost then Encryption key will also lost
And that's why all data wiped out
That's why after entering recovery key you get the prompt to download your data
If you miss this step then your notes will lost
If you don't get the download option
Then it's server issue
Then developer are responsible for this
@dense bridge You can try emailing [email protected] to see if the developers can provide any help to you. That's the best way to reach them directly (they're the only ones who have access to this email).
In the meantime, you may want to check any of your devices for backups (just in case), they will either be in your downloads folder (for the web app) or in the documents folder (for the desktop apps).
I think it might delete everything there too. I'm not sure if there's a way around the invalid session screen.
Account recovery failed with "Client rejected sent items"
That's what I'd put there
Yes, I think that's good.
You might want to include that after logging in your account is now empty
But other than that I think it's good
That seems good, for your second password reset, how did you do it? Did you try restoring with the recovery key a second time, or did you press another button?
Oh, so it just made you put in a new password. Yeah, that's not 'normal', you definitely had something go wrong.
In that case, what you wrote as step number 5 is perfectly fine. @dense bridge
Yep, I think this email is good to send now.
Hoping for the best 🤞
Did you maybe get a confirmation email with this information at all or do you not remember how you got this information? Maybe you can find it in a place that isn't your notes. You can recover the passwords for sure so definitely try to find out what you need that isn't those and how you can get those other things back.
I hope the devs can help you but sometimes it isn't possible for them to help, so the sooner you start trying to get as much figured out as you can, the sooner it'll be over for you. I'm here if you have more questions or need help figuring out where you can find something that went missing.
Oh no :(
That's not how it works. You need to select from a bunch of options first, one of which is "Recover using recovery key" and the other is "Clear data and reset account". Do you remember which one you clicked?
If you use a recovery key, it gives you a backup to download. Otherwise, the data gets wiped.
I did read this but you skipped a step where it asks you how to recover your account. It gives you multiple options. Which option did you select? That'll help us determine whether your data can be recovered or not.
What about the second time you tried to recover? Did you select the same option?
Let me check. That should never happen. It should always ask you how you want to recover your account.
Do you have any other backup of your data?
That's not how it works. Can you DM me your email address?
Sorry this happened. Just as a precaution, start using a password manager for your logins and passwords instead of a notes app, and make backups of that regularly, as well as of your notes.
The user's data was sucessfully recovered from one of our server backups.
Awesome
