Android Widget display bug

I keep a 'New Note' widget on my Android home screen. I reduced it to 1 x 1 size, to make it as small as possible and the same size as the app icons (see image 1). After a few hours, the widget changes. It tries to incorporate the "Take a quick note." text (see image 2). I can always get it back to its proper state by: long-click on the widget to modify it, stretch it to a larger size, and then make it smaller again. This will only fix it temporarily.

I also do this. I hope it was possible to make it look just like an icon. Same with reminders widget

Something like this for reminders will be awesome.

Also this shortcut looks unusual. It has space on top and bottom.

Which makes it hard to put in a row with other shortcuts

It does, yeah. Thanks. I can even remove the widget altogether and just use the 'New note' from the long-press. I'd still want to fix the widget, either by not allowing the 1x1 size, or fixing the text.

Have the same issue with the widget. And BTW a new note shortcut is not the same with a quick note widget. The latter is faster and more convenient for quick notes if working properly.

I will suggest you use NN quick tile in the android drop down menu. It is way more easier to use. You don't need to leave the app you are using to use the widget instead.
