#Can't login on win desktop, 2fa code not arriving

Still not arriving.
Country?
I have just tested and it has arrived within 5 seconds and also correct OTP.
Through vpn
did a quick search in here.. looks like theres more people who had this issue, but seems like some connection blocking problems, try using different servers (countries)
or adjusting some settings that could block requests if thats an option
also, consider using otp generator instead of email
I think users should be prompted for Authenticator as 2FA instead of email while signing up.
Thanks for the solutions, Marius. But changing servers didn't work. Used to work fine for 2 years.
Why would VPN block 2fa requests?
How is it different from any other network connection?
I agree.
Yeah. Really weird choice for 2fa also with asking to enter 2FA before password. I have to copy it from my pass manager otherwise I will just fill it in one go.
I dont think its blocking 2fa, essentially its just a request by the browser/desktop app to a server that issues an email, you can check dev tools what happens to the request, if its blocked or returns an error, etc.
could be that some "enhanced" protection is bocking some keywords/server addresses, etc. who knows 🙂
Nothing works. Switching off VPN completely didn't solve the issue either.
lets ask @tired oxide to check on their side whats happening, probably you should send him a DM with your email so he can check
are you able to change 2fa to authenticator app on the device where you are logged in?
Haven't tried
I have tried with Protonmail account and the 2fa arrives
Then please do.
Use proton too
Yeah.
Will do when I am back to desktop, thanks for the suggestion.
Awesome. Let me know if it works.
I don't really like it when I need to check my email to login. That's why the first thing I do for services that use 2fa in email is to change it to the authenticator app. Some services send you a magic link to your email to login to the app which is very irritating. Makes the password managers obsolete... I like the convenience of clicking one button on my pass manager and getting into the app.
