I frequently toggle focus mode while working and it would be great to have a simple keyboard shortcut to toggle it.

What keyboard shortcut would make the most sense for this?

I use Sublime Text, which has a "chorded" shortcut in which you first press ctrl+k then press b, which I like but realize might be too hidden/cumbersome for people not used to chorded shortcuts like this. Then, there are the semantic shortcuts (like Vim): tf for "toggle focus", but that would require first pressing escape to exit out of currently editing. I would say ctrl+shift+f for "focus", but I'd expect that to be a global search (where ctrl+f would be a local search).

Personally, I like chorded keyboard shortcuts for UI-specific actions. While they might have a steeper learning curve upfront, they actually require less mental effort in the long run since you only really have to remember one initial shortcut then use mnemonic keys to follow it. So, using something like ctrl+k then f for "toggle focus" could work and also provide a foundation upon which to build for other UI-related keyboard shortcuts (single keys after ctrl+k with a mnemonic meaning). Though, maybe not ctrl+k, since you might want to use that for a universal quick-search interface as has become popular in other apps.

Hi. Came here just to ask you for this keyboard shortcut. I really miss it.
Just look for a key combination not yet in use and assign it to Toggle Focus Mode. And another shortcut to toggle dark/light mode.
