Dear Notesnook Team,

I hope this message finds you well. I am a dedicated user of the Notesnook application and greatly appreciate the functionality it provides for organizing my thoughts and tasks.

I am reaching out to kindly request the addition of Portuguese language support within the app. As a Portuguese speaker, having the option to navigate and utilize Notesnook in my native language would significantly enhance my user experience and productivity.

I understand the complexities involved in implementing language translations, and I would like to offer my assistance in this endeavor. Although I have never done translations before, I am enthusiastic about contributing to this process and am willing to learn. If there are specific guidelines or tools you could provide to assist me in translating content for the app, I am eager to get started.

I believe that with a collaborative effort, we can make Portuguese language support a reality in Notesnook. This addition would not only benefit me but also expand your user base to Portuguese-speaking individuals worldwide.

Thank you for considering my request and for the opportunity to potentially contribute to this project. I look forward to your guidance on how I can assist in bringing Portuguese language support to Notesnook.

Best regards,
gbxventura.

thats a good idea, if devs would agree, could use some community translation tool, i think tutanota uses some tool for that also

I’m a volunteer translator (Dutch) for Proton. They use Crowdin.

Perfect, we need to talk to the devs to do it, right? I'm using it every day, I even subscribed to the pro. I want the project to continue and improve.

I was a translator of Tuta nota interface and i can tell it use the Phrase. The Phrase is a german closed source tool for community. It is okay but i like a Weblate opensource crowdtranslation tool. I do not know why Tutao have choosed Phrase, while Weblate have almost same features.
I had never used Crowdin.

Crowdin and Phrase are proprietary.
Only Weblate is free. Weblate can be selfhosted or be hosted on hosted.weblate.org . So i believe, beter to use Weblate even if Crowdin would have more features.

Translation is already listed on the roadmap but it may be not soon. I think we need to wait a few monthes, and give some time to developers to polish english texts of a very new version v3 before we start to translate it.
I also want translations to my native languages and localization of date formats, but i think, adding this feature could make software architecture more complicated and that is why localization was not added yet.
Not properly implemented language swithching can slow down and make application to lag like Discord or Facebook on slow and overloaded devices.
So donʼt hurry up a moderator. The team already know they will do it by the roadmap.

Good software deserved to be translated to as many languages, dialects and orthographies as possible.
I would be glad to help with translations into 3 slavic languages and their not official variants. I wanna make a glossary, screenshots, comments and tips for other translators, because other translationprojects often have a poor glossaries.
