#Touptek 533 Mono Bundle

prolly idk
why idk
dont trust the filters for some reason
any uhhh evidence for that?
too cheap
I'd get the 36mm filters, bit less vignetting + leaves room to upgrade to an apsc sensor (this is the bundle I got)
- the 36mm filter wheel holds exactly 7 filters just enough for your set

i cant use a sensor bigger than the 533 though with my scopes
The 71f doesn't support apsc??
Yes it does what
Blehhhh
I got them, they do have some halos especially in 0iii but otherwise theyre pretty good for the price
You can upgrade them later though so if you just want to dip Ur toes into mono it's a good option
can i see any raw subs of them?
Hmmmm
Lemme check
I can show you stacks?
i mean if it shows the halo thats fine
i just wanna know what im gonna be dealing with
how is it? like in general the touptek cam'
i only have used an asi533mc pro
ive used both zwo and touptek and the touptek has more control over the settings of the camera
like i love how i can turn LCG and HCG on at whatever gains i want
it also cools insanely fast like itll get to the target temp in less than 3s
BUT
The filter wheel for the touptek uses an IR sensor to do it's positioning
It'll shine an IR light within the system which idk why touptek even considered to be a good option
And if you take a photo right after a filter change it will come up as something similar to amp glow except you can't remove it
My solution is to just add a 2s delay between the filter change and the starting of the next exposure which does the job
That’s all you need to do?
Yes
that’s a non issue then
Some people really hate ut
How long does it take to swap filters?
A few seconds
You have to change it to bidirectional in the driver settings manually though, out of the box for some reason mine was in unidirectional
What’s that mean
Also comes with tons of spaces and adapters which is nice
Unidirectional: the filter wheel only moves in one directional
Bidirectional: moves in both directions
Oh I see
say you take rgb shots, for after the first cycle of rgb shots the unidirectional setting will need to rotate one whole rotation to get back to red which takes like 5s
but bidirectional setting will just change the wheel rotational direction to take it back to r
How often do you do your filter changes, after 1 sub? An hour?
thats about it
i do every 5-10 shots
How long are your subs
depeneds on my subexposure lengths
if my guiding is good and the moon isnt out then ill push for longer subs
and in that case ill do every 2 sub filter change
depends alot on the weather as well
if clouds will come in an hour and i want to get a usable image that day then ill do every sub
if the moons out i might skip O3 and just take Ha or sulfer for the night
if its a moonless night i might just do O3 or luminance
really depends
So you think the 533 bundle is a good choice?
Seems to be the cheapest way to get into mono (for a 533)
Eofy?
end of financial year
also theres a 5% off for new customers whic is like 50 bucks
idk if touptek still has that
They do but it wouldn’t combine with this discount I got already
you put your email in and they give you a code
did you already put in a code?
I tried yea
Oh no
I didn’t. But I think that I’m getting a discount / sale price
With the bundle already
So it won’t add it on
i used that same code on my discounted 585
if you think its worth it to save 50 bucks you can contact their customer service
oh
yeh idk maybe theve changed their policy
Oh well, guess I need to hurry up and get this in case the discount is only temp
I’m selling my 533mc pro for $700
so that covers a lot
also itll give an option to pay in usd or chinese yuan
check both options to see which is the cheapest
Really? I only see PayPal, and Credit Card. Which would be in USD
paypal will charge fees
go in credit card maybe?
i think itll ask when you are paying
i think paypal might be more secure though?
idk
i paid with credit card and it was fine
doesnt matter if its secure or not
i have no money to steal
💀
Touptek filters are correct. They do have some halos the narrow band ones, but otherwise they are perfectly fine. I have the 7x36mm unmounted ones and a friend of mine has both the 7x36 and the 1.25 ones
Very happy with them
I also have Touptek 1.25 narrowband and I luckily haven’t even found any halos in mine, very happy with them. Although people before me have reported some halos so I guess it has a little bit of lottery involved
Did you buy it?
Yes
