I found a used Meade DS-2130, I don't know a lot about telescopes right now, so I hope someone can help me. On the side it says D = 130mm, F = 1000m, f/10. It's listed locally for 140€ but i might be able to negotiate a bit. I'll be using my phone to take pictures and stacking them andi hope i can get some good results. It also comes with everything in the third picture. Thanks in advance.

Do you know if the GoTo mount still works?

The listing says it works just fine

Then it seems like an alright deal

Though I guess to be on the safe side I'd check whether the tube can be dettached from the mount so the whole thing doesn't become a paperweight if the mount stops working.

Sent them a message. If it doesnt what would you reccommend?

Try to see if you can haggle the prize down a bit more, and also look for different alternatives.

Either way a scope of this size is a decent upgrade to a 70 mm refractor and one you can probably get a lot of use out of, so you mostly just wanna be sure that the mount won't break two weeks from now and then you'll be stuck with a paperweight.

keep in mind that it's a bird eye jones, its native focal length is 500mm but there's a barlow lens crammed into the focuser

#

so it won't be that good optically

#

Imo it's not really worth it

Oh shit I didn't know that

#

Yeah then it's not really worth it

Damn, I’ll look for smth else then
