Taken on 27/01/2026 with a Dwarf 3 smart telescope.

  • Gain 40
  • EQ mode at 0° deviation
  • 46 x 60s Lights (Astro Mode)
  • 12 x Biases
  • 12 x Flats
  • 12 x Darks
  • External UHC filter with dew hood and star spike add-on

From a Bortle 6/7 location.

Second attempt as the sky seemed clear. Had planned on a 2 hour run but only got 46 mins of good frames when the clouds came in. Processed in Siril, GraXpert, Gimp and Affinity Photo. What do you think? I applied the Hubble HOO palette as part of the Siril process.

You improved a lot! Looks good!

Btw, how do you manage to get flats and biases?

Thanks. There are some calibration frames in the Astronomy folder. Think it's called CAL_FRAMES or something. There are subfolders for darks, biases and flats in here. Lense 0 is the telephoto and lense 1 is the wide angle. I use the flats from here and just copy the files (there are 3) to match the number of darks/biases. I take the biases myself. I use the same gain settings and put the sun filter on and then turn the lense to face down, into the telescope. I then set the exposure time to the quickest setting (think it's 1/10000 s). It's very similar to the darks, except with the darks, I match the exposure time I used for the lights.
