Orion Nebula - Dwarf 3

Taken on 14/01/2026 with a Dwarf 3 smart telescope.

• Gain 40
• EQ mode at 0° deviation
• 50 x 60s Lights (Astro Mode using an external UHC filter)
• 10 x Darks
• 10 x Biases
• 3 x Flats

From a Bortle 6/7 location.

Processed in Siril, GraXpert, Gimp and Affinity Photo. Had planned on a longer run but clouds came in so had to cut it short. Around half the data captured was unusable so only used the 50 good frames I captured. Used the Hubble palette as part of the processing. Fairly happy with it but wish I had more data.

Looks like he/she shot through thin clouds by looking at the Jewel of Orion

The weather forecast was cloudy but my phone is usually wrong. It did look fairly clear to me when I started but there very well may have been thin clouds higher up as the sky didn't look as clear as I've seen it before. Thought I'd give it a try anyway but then the heavy clouds came in. Only used what the telescope flagged as good frames.

I'll try and adjust the green in the image. Yes, Siril does have a green noise removal feature. I'll try both this and airing the curve one the green to see which gives the better result.
