Hello! Im pretty new to astrophotography and photography in general. Ive been in search of a tracker and a tripod for a few days and came across a EQM35 Pro, and was not sure if this is a good deal, or whether or not is a scam. I was origanlly focused on getting the Adventurer 2i, or the Pro but was sent this one instead. Im currently using a T3 Rebel, with a 50 mm lens. But in the near future i plan on getting the Rokinon 135mm lens. All help and advice would be greatly appreciated.

i have this mount
i overloaded it with a 150mm Newtonian and still get sub arcsecond guiding
definitely can handle the roki with no issues
@proper current is there any specific question i should ask the guy? Other than when was the last time he used it, and a video of him using it?
def ask him for guide logs if he has guided it yet
if anythings wrong with it, the guide logs will show it
Okay thank you i just updated my question
i dont think they'll have one though, i dont see a guider in his rig
he took off his camera for the pictures though so maybe he did the same for the guider
well worth a try at least
Is it okay if/when i get them either pming you or @ing you here to see if you see any irregularities?
whats up with it?
i would never take the counterweight bar off the mount ever when there is a scope on it
so what 'would you be implying exactly?
also long af counterweight bar, not the one it comes with
oh i see what your saying
i hope he didnt have any accidents resulting from that
oh
ig in the chance they do have guide logs that would show up right?
Yea that wouldnt make any sense to take off the counterweight bar
eh actually
really the only thing of value being damaged from a collision that would happen from that would be to the scope
mount would be fine
since the scope would hit the tripod
anything else you see a little fishy?
ill look again but i dont see anything else
pictures are all really at the same angle
so i cant see the motor housings very well
i can ask for more pictures
its a good thing if the declination motor housing looks like its been messed with
if it hasnt that means you are going to be the one messing with it
it needs tuning
not very usable without tuning lmao
alright ill ask if hes tuned it, and pictures of the other side
though lots of vibration can force you to re tune it anyways so the drive might be enough for that
there are some one time things you have to do that involve taking the mount apart to loosen some things up, then after that its just remove motor housing and adjust a backlash bolt
its not really hard but its kinda intimidating the first time
its more just tedious
this is the best ive ever gotten mine to perform
wait thats actually way different wtf
it's also way better than you'll see it performing 99.9% of the time
idk it just locked tf in at that moment
