oh my god
this may be some of your best Jupiter work yet
that detail on Ganymede is unreal
WOAHH!! this is some really good jupiter data!
Magnificent as always Tom! Details on the moons is insane!

Resolved great detail on BRS Jr., Io and Ganymede
AND
you managed to resolve Thebe and Amalthea (correct me if im wrong)??
Insanity
definitely my favourite planetary image of the year
Detect* Thebe and Amalthea, not resolve.
Did you also take a peek through an eyepiece?
The view must've been incredible
Yes
and yes
I could sight Orisis Crater visually during the best moments.
excuse me what
holy shit
I know you said excellent seeing but this is absolute bonkers
holy crap
What..
I mean you can see it on the live view from the camera with ease.
I really dont have the experience in planetary to properly asses the differences of eyeball and camera at such magnifications lol
oh yeah sorry for asking but could i have the derotation for processing?
Sorry, what I meant was the visual view should in-theory match the camera live view.
It's not "normal" to have Osiris visible in either case.
Oh I see, my bad
I sell my raw data online and I plan to do the same with this set, so no, just because I don't want to short those who normally pay.
ah alr
short snippet from the best vid
Hacker
yeah bro
nobody can have excellent seeing and get a 24 inch telescope for a crazy good price
a soul not condemned by the astro gods
Tom is your area isolated? Suburbs kind? Transparency would my crap on New Year’s Eve
Or this is shot in the morning
This was shot in the night between the 30th and 31st if I am not mistaken.
morning of the 31st
Also tom would u possibly be able to get surface detail on titan or would the ir needed make the resoultion too low?
@pine rune send seeing to Hawaii we’ve had about 50 jet streams in the span of 3 months
@pine rune i dare you to challenge Ceres
He did, got the disk, close to getting detail
huh
I expected more since you can get ceres disk with a 8" telescope
Really? Hard to believe
Yeah i saw a post once but im not sure where it went
No detail of course but the disk
@undone ore
I see
Well tom did post it about a year or two ago but I’m too lazy to find it
oh
With his work it’s worth it to make his own website, Damian peach, ceravolo,
True
I've not done Ceres recently. Only with my 16" back in 2023. Vesta I did resolve with the 24" however.
