I would like to present to all my tool , after 2 months of development I made it !!

https://astro.fzastro.com/

Universal Object Lookup
Messier, NGC, IC, Caldwell, Sharpless, clusters, stars, galaxies, planets, moons, comets, and spacecraft — all searchable from a single box.
Nmes and magnitudes — distances, velocities, fluxes, orbital parameters, closest approaches, ephemerides.
Weather Intelligence
14-day, hour-by-hour forecast restricted to true astronomical darkness.
Conditions graded into a 0–100 Imaging Score — clouds, moonlight, humidity, wind, and pressure condensed into a single metric.
Powered by Astronomical Timing for your exact position (set manually or by map), ensuring forecasts align with your true night sky.
Target Finder
Tonight’s best deep-sky objects ranked by visibility, altitude, airmass, and angular size.
Grades calculated using the same Astronomical Timing as the forecasts — factoring in sky darkness, moonlight, and observing windows at your chosen location.
Solar System Map
Live, high-precision visualization of the Solar System using NASA JPL ephemerides.
Shows real-time planetary positions and accurate elliptical orbits.
All distances are computed relative to Earth for true observational context.
Interactive view — zoom and pan to explore the current configuration.

How We Measure Cosmic Distances
Astronomical objects lie at vastly different scales, so no single method works for all. Distances are determined by a cosmic distance ladder — different techniques applied depending on how far away the object is

Parallax
Gaia proxies
NED-D
Literature
Hubble redshift

No telescopium distances are wrong ! 🙂

I’m trying the Best targets now, it seems to be missing some though

#

I just imaged the Bubble Nebula and it’s a great target this time of year, not sure why it’s not on there

#

It has M52 which is right next to it

fallow turtle
#

this one right ?

covert willow
#

Yep

fallow turtle
#

1 sec

#

i love feedback !

covert willow
#

O you manually did it all? Damn

#

yea I’d imagine it would be ranked next to M52

fallow turtle
#

added try now

#

no i cant seeit sec

covert willow
fallow turtle
#

!!

#

good !

#

Its a nice target I need to trim also the grading there bigger target have way more grade

fallow turtle
#

added picture on the data...the data is sooo accurate

covert willow
#

Would be cool to have a way for the score to be affected by your focal length and pixel scale. Maybe as a toggle

Like the Deer Lick Group is rated high but it would be nearly impossible for me to image at my FL.

fallow turtle
#

that can be the next step

#

i ll make a note

covert willow
#

Also the Polaris Flare is rated high yet it would also be impossible to image because the moon and I got relatively high LP

fallow turtle
#

MIN_ALT = 45° — Only count visibility and scoring above this altitude.
• MIN_DURATION_MIN = 0 min — Must stay ≥ MIN_ALT for at least this long.
• MAX_AIRMASS = 1.50 — Must reach airmass ≤ this value (lower is better; 1.0 ≈ zenith).
• EDGE_GUARD_MIN = 10 min — Best time must be ≥ this far from astro-dark edges.
• REF_HOUR_LOCAL = 12:00; MIN_ALT_AT_REF = 0° — If 12:00 falls inside the window, altitude then must be ≥ 0°.
• DEC_MAX_N = +90° — Declination cap disabled (no extra culling of far-north targets).
• DIURNAL_SWING_MIN = 3.0° — Require at least this altitude swing in the window (rejects flat circumpolars).

#

u think i should trim those values ?

covert willow
#

Too much math for me

fallow turtle
#

those are easy numbers...

#

hehe

#

u should see the ladder calculation

Also the Polaris Flare is rated high yet it would also be impossible to image because the moon and I got relatively high LP

what is high LP ?

covert willow
#

Well I’m B5, I could maybe do Polaris flare but it’s mostly IFN, so would really need a very low moon.

fallow turtle
covert willow
#

yea If I notice any

fallow turtle
#

i ll see the polaris issue now

#

MBM 12 ?

covert willow
#

The best targets is going to be helpful since I never know what to image

fallow turtle
#

yes

#

look the airmass

#

is a good indicator

#

the less the better

#

sec

#

@covert willow try now

#

this is how i see and select targets

honest berry
#

I'll be sure to check this out

#

I like the neo-tty style

fallow turtle
#

I keep updating it, increased th resolution yesterday of the images from DSS2/color increased FOV to 2.39

fallow turtle
fallow turtle
#

Added image rotation selection !

FOV selection is now next on my list

fallow turtle
#

FOV and also image width and height added

fallow turtle
#

IMX571

#

IMX533

#

IMX585

fallow turtle
#

added Focal !

honest berry
#

Are you going to add images for the entire abell PN catalogue
