What's really cool about this palette is that you can easily distinguish all the different illumination sources in the nebula. Reflections are red, low-energy ionization is green, and high-energy ionization is blue. (The energy it takes to strip a single electron from sulfur is much lower than that needed to strip two from oxygen)
