Normally when I get a new telescope, I like to test the raw resolution of the telescope by shooting M13. That and the moon was out at the time and I wanted to shoot something in broadband. M13 was an obvious choice.
On top of that, I was trying to see if I had fixed the "donut of death" I was getting (I did not) so I didn't want to shoot data for a project which could potentially be bad and get tossed the day after. I also just love how fantastic broadband stars are with the Antlia LRGB-V Pro filters. I can't get enough of them.
