It has a 3000mm lens
1: it's not 3000mm, it's like 250 but with a small sensor so they can claim that with crop factor it's "like 3000mm"
2: you wouldn't want more than 250mm anyway on that mount
that's mostly it, get a second hand dslr, a 100 to 250mm prime lens (so no zoom) and you're good
Where I live there’s no second hand market so I’ll have to get something shipped and the shipping companies here are shit
then for that money you can get a real dedicated camera and a decent lens or small telescope
Get an imx585, the star adventurer, a Rokinon/Samyang 135mm f/2.0 (Canon version) and a UV&IR Cut + an L-Extreme Filter.
This setup is cheaper and will perform a lot better.
And you're not locked in to using the same optics
My whole setup costs the same as that camera
Fax
My 12” dob is way cheaper
I would get an SV220 instead of the extreme L
The nikon 900 and or 1000p are terrible for astro. No full manual settings. It'll do moon shots OK, but that's about it.
Get a dslr the skywatcher mount and rokinon 135
not with the sammy
and jupiter and saturn 👍
Why are you mentioning me
Oh sorry
Why rokinon 135 when askar fma180 pro exists?
The Rokinon is f/2
It's not all about aperture
What about optical quality?
26 inch f/2.7 newtonian
Uhh small aperture
Fma is better corrected but the rokinon is still sharp and you can get away with just a couple hours of data with the aperture
Valid point but I would still consider fma180 pro superior than rokinon 135mm for a person needing wide field shots
Yeah you could argue both ways tbh, depends on the buyers preferences
Agree. Most Rokinon produce best star results at f/4. At f/4 the open aperture is ~34mm. The FMA180 is 40mm aperture.
Yep, I think it's a great lens but people need to know other new options too.
With the FMA180, you get standard mounting options. Don't need special adapters. The FMA180 isn't as much of a lottery. That being said... Still like my Rock'n On.
